On the Battlefield
On the Battlefield with Esther Salinas as Soloist from the "Walk in the Sunlight Album" Esther is one of my favorite singers, she is from the Velasquez family that includes so many wonderful Christian believers. Esther's brother Bill Velasquez is still an usher at Calvary Temple Church of Kansas City.

Donald Brassfield is one of the few to dedicate his talents exclusively to gospel music. No name in gospel music has the ring like the name Donald Brassfield. No music has the ring and sound like that of Donald Brassfield. Bro Donald travelled with and played for Doris Akers for more than two years and she often commented he was the best organist in gospel music. Bro Donald was the organist whi...

Calvary Temple Choir under the direction of Don Brassfield, recorded live at Calvary Temple Kansas City. Sing Nancy Harmon!
I played guitar when O.H. and Lillie Belle ministered there at CT. David Duncan was the music director then and I sure enjoyed playing this and countless other songs there, those were special days for me!!!
Thanks Al for posting these old selections!!!
Do you have anymore of her temple choir songs
Don Brassfield, one of America’s premier gospel musicians
Beautiful
I still have my album! I love the whole thing. God bless you on your continuing music ministry.
Love the way the choir sung this song. Very very pure and edifying.
So different than most of the fluff we hear today. Such a reverence.
What I would give to have a CD copy of this entire recording. It will most likely be forever lost to the ages of time. Most of these old records have not been preserved by anyone.
There never has been and never will be anything to equal a Hammond organ!
I remember on Sunday evening services when the lights dimmed and the choir filed in towards the alter singing that song and Donald Brassfield playing that on the organ. I truly miss those days.

They don’t make gospel music like this anymore. Thank God for the people who post these classics. So many memories.
I loved this guy.
I also belonged to Calvary temple. I would love to find a church again like it I especially loved the Sunday night services. If you know of a church like this in K.C mo please let me know.
Where is the piano too?
Who is the choir and organist?
Whoever on that organ ain't playing!! Heavy bass I'll say..
Donald Brassfield!
Either way, it's a blessing!
I wonder if that's the original volume of the organ or is it next to a microphone.
"PACKIN UP GETTING READY TO GO" "GOT MY SWORD AND MY SHIELD" "GOT MY TICKET SIGNED AND SEALED".
"I AM ON MY WAY TO NEW JERUSALEM WHERE THE SUN WILL NEVER GO DOWN OR OUT EVERYDAY I'M MAKING PREPARATIONS" "I'M PACKING UP GETTING READY TO GO".
"YES I SURE LOOK FORWARD TO BEING CHANGED" "AT THE FIRST TRUMPET SOUND AND ALL THE DEAD IN CHRIST SHALL RISE WE'LL MEET JESUS IN THE SKY".
BLESS THAT WONDERFUL NAME OF JESUS "THOU SHALT BRING FORTH A SON AND THOU SHALT CALL HIS NAME JESUS". This was so moving and really touched me deeply.
Very anointed singing and playing in the Holiness Church.
I miss such singing and also Holiness Assemblies.
Do you have any other of her temple choir songs
I'm in tears this was my Pastor. I went to Cathedral of Deliverance in Brooklyn NY Both locations from the age of 5 until I left for college this was not just my pastor but my God father. He is one of the best. I miss him dearly. I don't know how to thank you for this. Hearing his voice again. Thank you so much!!
Hi Monique how is your mom?
Im packin up !!
my daughter Yolanda Rae Fales was dedicated to the Lord by CB Roberts in 1968. He was known as the weeping prophet.
one of my favorite songs we did.
Do you have any other songs from Nancy's 60s albums with temple choir and others. Would love to hear them
I was blessed to be a part of this
Just beautiful you can feel the spirit of the Lord
sould you upload the whole album? I don't have mine anymore. I miss those days.
I'm so glad you put this up, CB Roberts was my parents pastor and I was dedicated to LORD by him in 1972. It is wonderful to be able to hear his voice, thank you <3
My mother and father sang in that choir with Nancy harmon. Jack Phillips, Kathleen Cronley, and my grandfather, William (Pat) Cronley.
Do you have any of their other recordings
Beautiful memories. I used to. Play this over and over again 😃
one of my favorites.
tdwh419 Tim that was Nancy's oldest brother CD. He was a great drummer. Nancy and her siblings were all great musicians and singers. Nancy is still a fierce keyboard player when she cuts loose! She can tear up a service.
Could you give me a list of Nancy's siblings, and any bio about them? I have often wondered if the writer of "Reach Out & Touch The Lord," Bill Harmon was related.
I remember this song and esp. the choir coming down both sides of the balcony into the choir pit. It was soooooo inspiring and they would sway along the way. Great memories!!! Thanks for posting!!
Title of the song is called " he's all I need" this is not to be mixed up with a song of the same title they did in the 40s.
Rev James Cleveland wrote this song and it was originally done by The Roberta Martin singers.
I found an album at a second hand store of Nancy Harmon and this choir. I met Bro. Brassfield. He used to be the organist at a baptist church here a few years ago before I became the minister of music and organist there in Kansas City. He heard me play the organ.
It would be awesome if you could post any songs from then
This was SCCC's second album with James Cleveland.
Sounds like an innocent little song, doesn't it? But in the Spirit world when this is sung it causes earthquakes in hell and absolutely WRECKS the devil's plans to do evil to mankind. SING ANOINTED HYMNS & SONGS to PRAISE JESUS, KIDS!
