End Our Cladding Scandal
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 24 ก.ย. 2020
End Our Cladding Scandal is a campaign set up by Inside Housing, UK Cladding Action Group and other cladding action groups from across the UK, that calls on the UK government to lead an urgent national effort to solve the spiralling building safety crisis that has emerged since the Grenfell Tower fire in 2017.
In the absence of sufficient government funding, costs for remediation often fall on leaseholders - with sums reaching above £100,000 per flat in the worst cases. Leaseholders are also required to fund waking watches (24-hour fire patrols) and other interim measures, at costs of up to £1,600 per month each, until their blocks are made safe.
Around the country up to 4.5 million leaseholders live in modern flats that are unsellable - even in three-storey blocks - because they cannot demonstrate the safety of their cladding, insulation, balconies and wall structure, a necessary requirement of gaining a mortgage thanks to government guidance.

BBC London News: LFB constantly worried about 1,300 unsafe blocks of flats in London (04/10/24)
The London Fire Brigade says it has "saved hudreds of lives in the changes to equipment, policy, training and decision-making [since Grenfell].
"But truthfully, the only way that we can really return confidence to residents is to ensure that all [unsafe] buildings are remediated."
One month on from the Grenfell Inquiry Phase Two report, the LFB has now accepted every recommendation related to their organisation. But commissioner Andy Roe tells BBC London's Sonja Jessup that he remains constantly worried about the risk of another fire in London on the same scale of Grenfell, due to the huge volume of flats that have still not been made safe.

Truly shocking
Imagine asking this bloke for the time. You’d be there for half an hour and still be none the wiser
Havent got a clue. Kier starmer can sleep easy at night many can't
They'll make the money available when they stop sending money abroad to their mates
atleast he dresses well
He won't get anything done, same as any other but worse. their priority is and always will be to fool the public long enough to benefit themselves, family and close friends. The. Leave the role to the next person that will start the same "no further forward" process of their predecessors. A vicious circle, been going on that way for far too long!!!!
Lewis Goodall is so good at speaking and explaining things.
This programme is not worth watching. Trevor Phillips on Sky makes this interviewer look and sound like a grumpy child in comparison.
I see no such interview with the Tories from Kuennsberg in the last 14 years. Time for the DG and this appalling Tory apologist / enabler to go.
Theres a TRUE politician for you! NEVER ANSWERS A DIRECT QUESTION! Welcome to the Political system in the country once called GREAT BRITAIN.
Trump would get it done 1st day.
Why do interviewers ask such dumb questions, seriously, how is he meant to answer half the questions, don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of him, certainly not, but media reporters don't half ask the dumbest of questions
I cannot stand this man he is pure evil
‘We’ve had many injustices that take years to sort out…’ Like the covid lockdowns eh?
Did he go grey in the last two months? Must be stressful in power when you can only do things that make people hate you…
Should have asked him why he's soft on pedophiles and grooming gangs and why he hates the British people
I don't want to arrest anyone unless they are far right says starmer
Say hurty words, 1 week, prison
Dont be daft jail them far left dont get jail 😂😂😂😂 contracts to pals 😂 dangerous get out early tweets get time 😂😂😂
You can’t believe anything he says !!!
You can’t speed up the process without being able to prove that you have been diligent enough
Jail that’s a joke he only jails the most innocent for facebook users pedos murders theives go free traitor
It was absurd they stayed in their flats and didn’t leave the building.
4:01 ??? The police aren't going to prosecute those responsible for the cladding. Where's the all guns blazing he had for the social media warriors and the man smoking outside a pub. This man is fucking ridiculous
Blair looks different.
He is a liar he will not do it
Starmer says blah, blah, blah.
They're saying that because so many were at fault, no one directly is to blame. In 2 years' time, he'll still be saying the same with regards to speeding up the process.
We thought Liz Truss was bad......
Question: If more people died because of the cold, this winter than passed in the grenfell disaster ? Will kier take responsibility?
compulsive lair 2 tier kier taken back handers from donors corrupt PM AND LABOUR MP'S RENTING OUT UNLIVEABLE HOMES TO PEOPLE EARNING HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS NOW IN POWER SAYING SORRY
He lied to the electorate in a massive way to be PM & receive £76,000 in clothes gifts & when became PM lied again about the £22 billion black hole he & Labor are shambolic
Oh look, a “racist” flag
Who voted for this
why is the flag stereophonically draped there - it used not to be 'in your face' I such an American way? Pitiful chest expanding guff
will the indigenous folk have safe homes???
Starmer and Khan, the liar twins
So Rayner is doing the analysis?! No comment.
Can he not just answer a question? Waffle and word salad about every single issue, was the same at the pre election debates, and yet people still voted him in.
Starmer is giving tax payers money to anyone who he can, everyone BUT the British people
Thank you for clipping this and for all the work you do collating coverage around this issue. For those of us paying attention your channel is a very valuable resource
So basically he can’t promise it will ever be done.
He’s full Of shxt
right Kuenssberg has told Starmer that the twenty two-billion-pound black hole was created by labour agreeing to pay off the unions. For a start not paying the unions demands would have been more expensive in the long run. Secondly hunt said that if they had gone ahead with the Rwanda plan they wouldn't have to build council houses for refugees there by making a saving. the conservatives have come up with one excuse after another for the deficit. Their term in government has been one disaster after another. The actual figure Laura mentioned was nine billion pounds. There seem to be all sorts of ex uses for the deficit none of which seem to be the fault of the conservatives funny that.
He'll probably just arrest them for feeling unsafe
He simply doesn’t care! Put starmer in an unsafe house! He will soon have a date for that!!
Starmer! Absolutely pathetic !
Well done Laura you’re a fantastic journalist
Funny, he does not want to prejudice the outcome but will insist that people tweeting will receive the full force of the law
He's a Bloody liar and disgrace 😡
