Honestly not good editing. Ruins scenes. Makes no sense sometimes due to where they left off. The characters are in the wrong positions. Nolan does a lot of good. But his movies often look and feel bad

I have been obsessing over heat over last few days and I want you to know that your insight is very instructive and valuable. Seems like we men get too intoxicated by the thematic weight sometimes and lose sight of the fundamentals that pin down this kind of scene. this scene should inspire filmmakers who lack resources because it proves that an understanding of character and an ability to set a serious mood allows actors to be understated and natural and be compelling based on good writing and mood.

This is the finest performance of any actor, I've ever seen on screen. As Leo once said, "There's commitment and then there's Daniel Day Lewis".
