The problem with the movie is it's predictability. Once you accept that "plot armor" will be responsible for any twist, the plot stops mattering as you wait for it to "catch up" with what you see was always scripted to happen. The most egregiously over-utilized tool being the Hypnotiser....set up to provide extra thick plot armor for the things the writers had no plausible way to accomplish, but wanted accomplished anyway. Bottom line is that every 5 minutes someone should have been exclaiming "MY! THAT was convenient".

Boy, she must have felt stupid after that reveal. That HE had been outsmarting her 😂🤣😂🤣 I also found in interesting that scene ago she kissed him even though he slammed her head into the bar

This movie caught me off guard so bad when I first watched it. I was just looking for a quirky movie about magic and was not really paying enough attention which was truly ironic because magic relies on misdirection. The reveal was so fun for me and to this day I love watching this movie whenever I want to be cozy lol. Also Mark Ruffalo is utterly charming.

Fun Fact: The director of this movie went on to direct Fast X 10 years later.

It's a pity that the screenwriters couldn't find a way of continuing their love story in either of the two sequels, because she was really good and Mark Ruffalo wasn't bad either.

Beautiful movie but cant help everything is like a movie in a movie, where things cant be anymore convenient... Like Alma so happened to be single and available. Cmon, someone that beautiful n capable would have a husband already.

I like to imagine that he's like "welcome to the eye!" Then disappears, and then they follow. And then it jumps to a small room in the center of the carousel and he's like, "welcome to the club guys. I got snacks and soda, and this really cool bean bag chair" and they're all like "we did all that for this?"

i like mark ruffalo's talant as an actor but as a person he is garbage ... when i look at him he talks about things he knows nothing about like he is the moral authority just because he is a well known actor .... him and a bunch of libtard actors are part of the problem .... i just cant take him seriously ...

I loved the movie, but they made a mistake at the end. They show all the keys at the bottom of the river, but a high percentage of them are Kwikset keys, which are used ONLY on door locks, not used on any of the locks that would be have been used on the bridge. (Padlocks)

Inspiration

I love this movie and I especially love how they made each show reflect a different horseman. The first show was big and flashy like Atlas, the second one was in the South and relied on mentalism, like Merritt, the third one was the escape and chase leading to Jack's "death" which was performed on the streets, just like the street magic we see Jack doing, and the last one is Henley's which is held in a warehouse, not a theater, and uses misdirection and physicality.
