One of the things that made them so different from other groups was that their drummer was integral to their choreography. Every move made with precision in tandem with the drummer. Several other groups tried to copy their style

Billy let the drugs rule him. He used to have to Beg to get on stage with these guys. Was with him one night when Big John pissed him off and he sit on his car and tried to bash it. He was a good singer, but he could not control his urgers. Tanya wants everyone to think he was so awesome... Not.. Cost me my job, by seeking drugs.

let me explain something to all those listening oooout oooof all the groups and there were good ones nut THE UNIFICS. had the BEST STEPS. OUT of ALL OF THEM im not talking bout who had the most hit records or who was more popular amongst the groups of that time but there goreography was way ahead of its time for that ERA hands down. and when i look at NEW EDITIONS STEPS. the cat that taught. them knew his stuff to me N E put me in mind of the UNIFICS. who in my opinion had the best steps EVER spot on i saw them serveral times at the Apollo theater as a kid they were DYNAMIC

Sorry...but Baltimore's own group First Class did it better , Tony Yaborough sang lead in their 1975 version in Bmore ! Check out First Class version and be the judge !

Billy Bazemore also fronted a band in the late 90's on the triad scene called the "Rhythm Brothers" with Dave Caudle, and later adding then triad scene guitarist Ron "Runt" Speaks. Yes, yours truly. I always thought a lot of Billy. As a kid, watching him with this act made me want to be in a band. Later, working with one of my local heroes was made much less daunting by Billy being a wonderfully down to earth person. What a great guy. I sure miss him.

Now that we are full, the music is lacking and the message in the music of today, well, no thanks! This music is life to me!
