Absolutely brilliant and well made video which is so required. Thank you so much. Will share with our school
Fantastic and much needed video. I will be sharing it!
Have just shared with my sons school here in Ireland - powerful video and thank you for sharing it
This is fantastic and a great resource to share with schools. Thank you from an adoption support social worker
I am about to start the adoption process and am so glad I found this video. Thank you to all the birth parents for being so open and honest. This should be essential viewing for all adoptive parents. I will carry your experiences and advice with me throughout my journey. Thank you again, I really respect your bravery!
The life coach was brilliant all adoptees should listen rather than reading The Primal Wound which in my mind all about victimhood
💔
u sarah should he ashamed! my som was adopted wen i was 18 im now 21 and have my daughter with me i bet u cant answer why that it is adoption is serious yet i have my daughter with me not my son
Shouldn’t you be able to tell us that really?
The pain is indescribable. one of my 2 forcibly adopted children have found me. I got to celebrate her birthday with her today for the first time since she was 2. She is 19 now. She told me today she has never had a birthday cake, I don't know if this an adoptive mum thing because birth is associated with another woman tgats not them. My son and daughter both had severe mental health issues and tried to kill themselves because they thought I had rejected them. They have worked through this now but my son still won't talk to me. I have raised 4 children and there was some initially confusion, she thought I rejected her, there was nothing further from the truth. I know exactly where my kids are now and I can't tell you how much of a relief that is. I would have been so grateful for this support for those 16 years.
i lost my son to adoption wen i eas 18
Keĺlie cottam
Do what you are suppose to do and you will not lose your children. Billions of Billions of parents do what is right and raise their children. It is not very hard to take care of children if you are not selfish.
Though I agree with this, this is also ignorant in many ways.
@@its_emma_xo Well I guess you and I are ignorant than. Do what you are suppose to do and you will not lose your children. Billions of Billions of parents do what is right and raise their children.
My Granddaughter is adopted. She is very loved and has anything she wants. She says she wears being adopted as a badge of honor. Never seen such negatives of being adopted. Seen kind of grateful for finding a forever family.🙄🙄🥺🥺
Everyone needs a sense of belonging and knowing where they are coming from.
Go on young people fight for your rights ,let your voices be heard,so your needs are met early on.
The pain Debbie is still feeling,is so palpable even at her age.You are the STRONGEST,AND DETERMINED LADY.
Im adopted and im currently going through getting back in touch with my biological mother at age 21, and it’s stressful, i dont think I trust her and honestly it’s bothersome she wants so bad to see me and I have nothing to say to her, I feel like I should have mountains of information to share, but when we’re on the phone I just listen to her talk and sometimes I’ll into what’s going on in my personal life.
My biological father never wanted me he had a heart attack in Arizona and at age 26 I flew from California to see him he was rude and denied me as his real child but today I have my Heavenly Father who loves me more then I can say! I would have been glad though if he was excited to see me like your mom does I pray you get love and joy and peace with your biological mom! Forgiveness is a blessing from God!
Thank you for sharing this. I don't know your circumstances but all I can tell you is it takes time. My daughter got in contact with me last year and I was over joyed. But it takes time, there are a lot of emotions going on. It has taken time for us to get to know each other and trust each other. It took alot for her to connect but she wanted to understand and know who she was and where she came from. It was easier because I have a younger daughter, so she has a little sister she could connect with and they were more on each other's waves length being of a similar age. We have all had a lot of emotions to process and it has got easier as time has gone on. We even tell each other we love each now, that was a big step in recognising she realises I'm not going anywhere ❤
Im.planning on adpting teenagers in the us. Everyone deserves a family
Very interesting!!!!
Adoption is inherently exploitative.
Taking children away from parents who love themselves more than their kids is not inherently exploitative. Do what you are suppose to do and you will not lose your children. Billions of Billions of parents do what is right and raise their children. It is not very hard to take care of children if you are not selfish.
@@MrJking065its not about them loving themselves more than them. Please open your eyes more, many of us have this to being abused or due to serious situations.
@@its_emma_xo Do what you are suppose to do and you will not lose your children. Billions of Billions of parents do what is right and raise their children.
People are exploitive, and can exploit adoption, it’s not inherently exploitative. In my case I came from an abusive family, and couldn’t return to them, so being placed into care and then adopted was the best for my situation and is the case for many others too.
This film is amazing - think teaching staff should watch this - outstanding
Love what you are doing x
I don’t understand in the USA u are considered the adoptive childs parents if they legally adoptive till u die. And they did. And I as an adopted child was treated differently once I grew up and could see the difference. My parents were good to me but treated me different than there biological son. He was the favorite .
Beautiful video ❤
So much pain that last for years n years n years
I had my baby taken away in 1969. I was told it was for my own good, that she deserved better because I was not married and the adopting parents had a nice house with a lake and a pony, and they were married. So after 11 months of being bludgeoned that I was selfish for keeping her, I eventually caved in under the pressure and thought that maybe she did deserve a better life in a nice home - all I had was a one room bed sit. So they took her away. It was taken for granted I would get over it, so no support whatsoever. Six months later I had a complete nervous breakdown and attempted suicide. Through the years I have missed her terribly, especially on her birthday. This coming April she will be 54 years old. I am now 77. Mothers who weren’t married and had no support from their families - they lost their babies too. The scars of grief, rejection from society, mental breakdowns - takes years to get back on one’s feet. I am glad these girls have a place they can go to… the pain never goes away you see.
I do hope that you’re doing ok. And I hope you have met your baby girl at some point
@@lizziesnailz7248 The very good news is that she did trace me, as I always updated my personal details (as in moves of address, tel number etc). It was an extra an ecstatic moment for both of us. Unfortunately, her adoptive mother did not take this well at all and a huge conflict developed for my daughter of loyalty. So our meetings sadly didn’t last . However, I will forever be grateful that she traced me, she had a good life and was healthy and well. She has three children of her own. Sometimes not everything turns out exactly as one would wish - but I have come to terms with the situation now. Xx
thank you for sharing this, unfortunately this hasn't changed
@@Roseenmarie I believe you are right, sadly.
In Lancashire there is not even one birth parent support group or organisation. Had to get through it alone 😔
becky please give pac uk a call on there helpline numbers it's hard dealing with it on your own . depending on where you are in the UK they can guide you for support
Yes I 100% agree with this lady when she it's a life sentence for the rest of my life and I don't even know anything about pac-uk the social workers never told me about pac-uk so from 2004 onwards iv been dealing with it on my own and it's not just the social workers that are very judge mental nearly everyone else is as well my mental health is very bad
There is no positive thing a letterbox am a birth mum to four kids I get letters and photos from my kids but they are written by the people who adoption my kids but I don't get hand written by any of my kids at all and yes I can send my kids letters, photos and birthday cards but I'm not allowed to send my kids and gifts or anything like at all and all social workers are very judge mentally and my letters from my kids are always late every time and just exercise from social workers
It is sad and they get you to do all sorts to prove yourself to then be told its still not enough..... many birth parents get judged as soon as children's services are involved and they then decide to take the child's voice away and then puts the child in placement its sad that we live in a world like this where someone who doesn't know anything apart from a call can judge you
This is sickness by social services. No such thing as positive adoption.. My goodness I'd like to see these so called professional people go through barbaric nonsense.. Many people are poor and can't fight their case through funding. Its sad
Absolutely have it here... You get it from the family who are living with so much pain. I know many parents who are living in the forced adoption world.. Depending on what language sw chooses to use. Ripping a child out of the mother's arms & "placing said child with" new families "who are very often the focus of the ad. Totally barbaric.. Please have a look at kellie cottam on here.. She is traumatised 10 years later
Very moving, I think a lady on here would benefit from your input lost 2 children hasn't moved forward has 2 more children with her, kellie cottam please look into her it's horrowing to see her decline
Brilliant and about time. I was adopted from the UK at 5 then moved to Australia at 8, now 42. I've never settled anywhere and I'd love to share my story with others.
Well Done PAC-UK, Very Eye opening. Really well presented.
Hi there put in forced adoption on TH-cam it starts from there.. Many of these adoptions are of kids being ripped out of the mother's arms and "placed" with adopted families.. Plenty of people who now speak out. I was "removed" I'm now 50 and I don't know hardly anyone in my family. How much I weighed or much more than birth place..
Brilliant I found this very informative. I'm a 49year old adoptee and only in the last 2 months am aware and coming out of the fog. I have more healing to do.. . This video is a great resource. Thank you So much 🙏🏽❤️😊
Fabulous coverage, I'd like to see more of this, its such an important issue thats not recognised enough
This film really touched me, I know only too well how catastrophic it can be as an adoptee without that support, especially this crucial age.. OMG it's so lovely to see this and the difference it makes. I hope there's more support for adoptees in the UK now 🙏🏽❤️
I’m an adoptee myself. Going through some adoption pain rn, came across this video to see if other kids felt the same way. I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels the way I do
I love this! 💜
fantastic, just watched it and found it so enlightening and helpful, I am 54yrs and was in the fog with all the stigma and no relief, now I am pushing more for help and not feeling like a failure.........thank you xxxxxxxx
I had wanted to attend this training in October but have viewed this video twice now. Every time I learn so much more. Thank you to all the beautiful birth mothers for the love and pain they have shared. Also thank you to PAC-UK for doing such a wonderful job. I truly appreciated everything I heard. Will use it in my adoption practice, I promise. Thank you 🙏❤️🙏
Hi are you going to be adopting? I was removed not adopted though. Wasn't a good experience in care was horrific
As an adult adoptee, this is wonderful! Our voices must be heard as those who have lived the Adoption experience - we are the experts, we feel the trauma of relinquishment and maternal separation in every cell of our bodies. Thank you for highlighting our #adopteevoices. I wish your organisation had been around to support me when I was growing up. X
Yes
Great film. Very informative on key issues which clearly need answering! Fantastic work - from Train Ben
Super proud to be delivering this fantastic service with One Adoption. Congratulations to all involved in the production of this vitally important animation, especially the Adopteens project members!
