On August 24th 2023 my grandmother passed away unexpectedly. She meant a lot to me and i took her death very hard. The day after she died i was out walking with my fiance and i looked down and saw a flower on the ground. When i picked it up i realized it was a daisy. Grammy loved daisies. I looked around and there weren't any other daisies around anywhere. I knew in that moment that God was there with me. Grief has a way of making you feel alone. It clouds your mind with a thick fog of emotions. I can remember in that moment i was so overcome with grief. God knew i needed Him. That daisy reminded me that He was there and brought me comfort something of which can be so hard to find when grief is so fresh.
I was born to this song and it was the first time my mom ever saw my dad bawl his eyes out. He rarely cries but he legit cried so hard when I was born to this song. I was born at the lyrics, “Got my face pressed up against the nursery glass. She’s sleepin’ like a rock. My name on her wrist, wearin’ tiny pink socks. She’s got my nose, she’s got her mama’s eyes.
