Meet Darshana and Nilupa Weerakoon, whose journey to owning their Bakers Delight franchise began in 2007 when they moved to New Zealand.
After years of dedication, they purchased the Hamilton East bakery in 2011. With strong training, community involvement, and a recent refurbishment boosting sales, they’ve achieved significant milestones, including winning Franchisee of the Year with Bakers Delight New Zealand.
In 2023, they became a million-dollar bakery and are now focused on expanding their success with plans to own another store in the region.
