Thanks mate. DPI do not stamp approval, they provide three measurements the open top size, the net height and the base size. Along with min netting square size. This trap meets all measurements. Unfortunately, traps that meet compliance naturally allow bi-catch to enter and more importantly leave/escape the trap. This due to the open top compliance of being 200mm minimum opening. We can’t avoid this. I know how frustrating it is catching turtles.. but I think this may just be a way of life now for the yabby enthusiasts. @@benny.bckoutdoors I caught many turtles in the opera house trap when they were legal , but never drowned any as I was diligent about checking them regular people should check all traps regularly and never leave traps out overnight . drowning a turtle would be bad enough but drowning a platypus would be devastating . cool thanks for the info I will check them out

Thanks mate. Great river, fast flowing. A little too fast to make the return trip. I have a similar problem. I found this bend of the river, walk is only a couple of kms. Maybe we tee something up and a have car at either end.
