Ugh, the wallpaper

The house is beautiful but a bit blurry.

This is a good effort in creativity, but in some ways form has triumphed over function. The ground floor should be on one level, as the unnecessary stairs create a tripping hazard. The TV-over-the-fireplace is a somewhat dysfunctional and unoriginal way of dealing with those two potential focal points. The oversized breakfast table occupies too much of a kitchen that desperately needs more counter space. If the bath for the downstairs bedroom were reconfigured there would be room for a much-needed pantry closet as well as modifying the view from the outdoor deck. This house might work for others but it doesn't for me.

In the bedroom, a built-in closet with a double bank of drawers under it. A good storage idea, but there's no room for a standard dresser, of course. In the bathroom, several shelves but none within reach of the mirror or the bathtub. I'm thinking some of these details might grate on you after a while. Very pretty, though.

I like this home’s intentions and the overall approach. The kitchen could benefit from a rethink. An island could replace the too large table to allow for additional counter space, storage, and a much desired dishwasher. The downstairs bedroom needs a rethink too so that the patio doors aren’t giving people outside a direct line of site into the ensuite loo. I like the levels and think this could be made into a functional and comfortable family home.

I like this house overall but I would have to make a few changes for my lifestyle. I would sacrifice the back porch and enclose it to have room for hot water heater and HV/AC, plus a 1/2 bath for guests. The master would have the full bath privately ( with a pocket door} and I would just have a shower where the tub is, leaving more space for storage and a double sink.
