Bridging the gap between mental health and responsible firearm ownership.
Walk the Talk America believes that by improving the quality and availability of mental health resources to gun owners, we can reduce suicide by firearm. We are paving the way by educating mental health professionals about gun culture and breaking negative stigmas around mental health for gun owners. We are saving lives.

Confidentiality Concerns in Military Mental Health
A recent Rand report sheds light on a critical issue in the military-trust and confidentiality in mental health care. It found that over half of service members worry that seeking treatment could harm their careers, impact their security clearances, or affect deployment opportunities.
Even more striking, nearly 90% of respondents said they would hold back on what they share with military mental health providers due to privacy concerns.
These findings highlight the urgent need to address barriers to care and build trust so those who serve can access the mental health support they need without fear of negative consequences.

🤙🏼
So happy to hear and learn that all of you from WTTA were there (in Seattle of all places) to help improve the research and discussions on firearms and mental health! Thank you for actively participating in the conference, both listening, talking/questioning them, and sharing with us!
🔥
Are you George Sodini’s brother? Just curious, would be interesting if his brother worked in the gun industry.
Hi….yes…..George Sodini Sr was my grandfather and George Sodini Jr was my uncle. So I’m a 3rd generation firearm industry professional
Are you George Sodini’s brother?
Yes….He was my uncle!
An excellent point(s). Thanks 🤘🏼😎
@@DJPLAYNICE brother DJ how goes it!
@@candtdesignsandarms9617 Looking good and feeling fine. Hope all is well with you 🤘🏼😎
Thanks for all the work you do brother!!
💪🏼
Negative outcomes with firearms/people taking their own lives or violence committed with a firearm/people using a firearm to commit a crime
💪🏼
Who doesn't have locks and lights in their house ? To suggest gun owners rely solely on the gun for protection is nonsensical. The gun is last resort but effective. That's why its important, when all else fails, you have a last resort, effective means of defense.
are child accidents rising? I thought this almost a non-issue compared to suicide
Some anti gun organizations are citing 2023 as the highest number yet. Accidents are a top cause of death among youth. While the numbers don't compare to the self harm statistics, every negative outcome will be used against the firearm community.
@@WalkTheTalkAmerica thanks I'll check that out
Thanks for the vid. 🤙🏼
Going forward, can you please provide links to the things you talked about. It's no biggie, but now I have to listen again for a link she mentioned that I'd like to look into. Thank you, and than you for your work.
Thank you for having this conversation and modeling what these things look like. It's so important on many levels. Bravo.
Glad you enjoyed it!

That will surely work great in the US, a country known for excellent mental health support
Excellent!!
Glad you like it!
Well, self distancing from firearms doesn't really work that well considering that suicidal ideas sometimes come in impulses instead of long time thoughts about it. Self distancing also isn't really a good way of handling a nation wide problem, because there are many people that are very irresponsible/over estimate their own mental health. And the argument that we should be more concerned about people's mental health instead of their firearms excess is kind of right, but happiness for everyone, for free, is a concept many countries have tried and only one has successfully achieved. This one country is also rich, has free education, free healthcare, a left government, a very low racism rate, a very low crime rate, very few extremists and wasn't involved in a war for a long time. And even if you can achieve this state, there can always be a stroke of fate, where your child or wife dies, causing suicidal behaviors.
Yes, This!
👍🏼
Nice cut! 👍🏼
Thanks! 👍
👍🏼
It isn't about logical thought. It's about moving the gun confiscation agenda forward under the guise of compassion.
Thanks 👍🏼
