Claremont & Concord Railway (New Hampshire, USA)
Full video available at patreon.com/VintageRailroadFilms
The Claremont & Concord Railway was established in 1954 to assume control of the former Boston & Maine Railroad's Claremont Branch between Claremont Junction and the state capital of Concord. The C&C also took over a short branch from Contoocook, NH to West Henniker and the extensive trackage of the Claremont Electric Railway which wove its way through the streets of Claremont to serve a number of industrial customers. Using lightweight General Electric diesel locomotives (44 Tonners on the city tracks and 70 Tonners on the former B&M branches) the fascinating operation became famous for its unique combination of close clearance street-running and rambling back-country branchline railroading.

rfolk & stern....now there is a rare railroad line for you... Nice footage..thanks for posting... don't think I've been commentor 1 ever
Great video, thank you. Keep them coming.
The LaSalle-Peru area is such an odd and interesting place in terms of railroading. The Burlington, New York Central, Milwaukee Road, Rock Island, Illinois Central, and CNW all came together there, along with coal and zinc mines and the river traffic. The old cement plant in Oglesby still has a sign with lights on one of their silos, indicating loads from the IC or CMStP&P.
NYC didnt go through LaSalle-Peru......Ladd, Its where all of them met beside the ICG or Rock Island....we had just the RI, ICG, CB&Q and the LSBC.
@ That's why I wrote "LaSalle-Peru area".
Wow! This is great footage! Nice to see that old number 7 and the former shop.
LSBC was also famous for having "stolen" boxcars by taking in newer PC marked cars, repainting them in LSBC marks and sending back old junker LSBC boxcars restenciled with the PC numbers.
I’ve been on this ride many years ago it was absolutely fabulous
