This is the MOST useful thing I trained my horse to do. I'm always amazed at how many others I see that haven't done this though. They take forever to get in the saddle lol

I wear a vest and helmet too. It’s a very smart idea, especially when getting on a green horse.

He was just learning to lay down on command as a trick. I laid on him and just loved on him for a few seconds.
I heard some young child died due to this method .
Why lay on top of him? You want someone laying on you and squishing you. He may be a horse, but he doesn’t need a human laying on top of his ribs and possibly screw up his breathing since I’m sure he’s not use to laying down all the time.
Lol. So riding them would also mean we are squishing them. I see plenty of riders that are WAYYY to large for the horses they are riding. For the less than a min I was up there he was not getting “squished” nor was I screwing up his breathing.
