In my opinion is probably the most pusched qualifiyng lap by Michael, infact he made the pole a had the two McLaren. Eddie know this circuit very well but was not capable to push in this way ..

In my opinion he mistake in up shift after the S exit. Usualy many don t use the full first gear rpm at couse of the possible whells spin, so anticipate and put the second gear. But here Michael use only 15000 rpm in first gear and 16000 in second gear while 18000 available.

a lap time of 1m37s. You cannot see, but can literally HEAR how much more downforce modern F1 cars have. firstly, Michael brakes twice for the double right hander at the end of the start finish straight. When you compare that to Lewis Hamilton's 2017 pole position lap, you will hear that he takes the first right hander flat out and only brakes for the second part. secondly, Michael has to lift off during the 130R left hander, or at least he slightly reduces speed by braking with his left foot while staying on the throttle with his right foot. When you compare that to the 2017 pole Position lap, you can hear that Lewis takes the corner absolutely flat out. modern F1 cars are 10 seconds faster. having said that, I feel the need to reduce the downforce of these cars, less downforce would make them more difficult to drive.
