Thank you for the video! I had this exact procedure done and observation from 8/27-9/17 to test my Right Cingulate, Right Insular Lobe, Left Hippocampus and Left Amygdala. It was finally determined, with 16 probes, the seizure focus is 2cm of my Middle Cingulate. I'm already missing my right anterior temporal lobe (12/07) as well as a previous right amygdalohippocampectomy (05/07). This is excellent! I am always fascinated to see anything that happens to me. I do wish I had waited a little longer after they had implanted the six additional probes before I located this video. I started out with 10, but they weren't enough. I found this video the same day (9/11) I had the next six implanted... I felt slightly nauseous. Fantastic technology, though! Far superior to the grid placed on my brain during testing of my temporal lobe before resection of my anterior temporal lobe. I had a couple of probes then, too, but not guided by ROSA. I'm proud to say I was the second patient my surgeon used this technology for. We'll use it again when we perform a radio wave ablation of the offensive tissue the day before Thanksgiving. I bought a textbook on epilepsy surgery to better understand the surgery my doctor was speaking of and had read all about it even before we spoke. I'd seen photos and when he saw the ROSA robot on the page he shouted, "We just ordered one of those! It'll be in soon! I can't wait!" I trust him beyond words, even though our attempts so far have not brought seizure freedom. I'm hopeful this one will, knowing what I know about SEEG technology, I think it will. We're doing radio wave to fit me in this year and save me $4,650. The surgeon says they work the same and they have similar effectiveness and safety. I think he personally prefers laser, but he sees no danger in doing it the "old fashioned way." Trouble is getting an OR for the laser ablation in time before the new year.
