Reddington is the real Raymond Reddington. He just pretended to be an impostor to protect Liz from his enemies. Liz opened the letter which she is supposed to open after he dies and then learned that Red is her real father. It’s the reason why Liz hesitated to shoot him at the end of season 8.

Show should’ve run five years tops. And wrapped everything up.

Because his not, season 2 they show the burn scars all over his back, Red is either an imposter taking her biological fathers place or it's her actual father her survived the gunshot wound and the fire which is most likely. This trans father 🐂💩 is just that.

Before watching this video, I always had this inclination that Raymond was Katarina that became a man.. the ending, after 10 years of gruesome violence, I think the ending was quite fitting..

Reddington being her mother is absolutely ridiculous, cashing in on nonsense trends in absolutely unplausible scenarios.

I think the CIA kidnapped Dwight because they wanted him to do their dirty work like probably run drugs and weapons like with sons of anarchy did in season 4 and 5 with the Galindo cartel who later turned out to be CIA agents. At the same time, the sons of anarchy were being investigated by the FBI and justice department for connections with the cartel and there was a huge RICO case. But luckily the CIA intervened on their behalf and wanted the sons to continue their business with them.

Personally I think chickie character had a lot of potential And they didn't know how to take advantage of it, they ended up turning him from an epic antagonist in the first season into a secondary villain without purpose, they wasted what could have been the greatest enemy From this series, I insist that they handled his character very badly.

James spader is Katarina for sure 💯 there are many hints to this .. like dom liz's grandfather talking to red many times about how his daughter is gone but yet talks to red as her .. all Katarina's friends like ellia kozlov and mr. Kaplin being so loyal to red .. and then her handler as a teen he knew as well they was all on the in and then the letter that liz reads before she dies was from her mother .. this was a letter from red to let liz know her mother was there the whole time watching over her .. this is why liz couldnt pull the trigger .. and then she died .. red was done with the life that he/she build .. but a sex change and what not is not impossible at that time and ellia pretended to be red to empty the accounts the cabal and kgb had set up to frame the real red as a traitor.. thats the money Katarina used to get a sex change and become Raymond Reddington .. the cabal was hunting Katarina and not raymond cause he was just a mark used for intel and red that we know then knew life as a fugitive is better than a life of someone who would be assassinated on sight .. Katarina knew she could stay one step ahead of anyone trying to arrest her as reddington .. but as Katarina she would be hunted as a traitor to the kgb .. as a loose end to the cabal.. and worst of all as the person responsible for the deaths of Townsend's family .. the directive to find and kill the one responsible Katarina rastova would never be safe and wouldnt be able to watch over Elizabeth as she grew up .. that was her only goal she left liz with her friend who raised liz and thats how red knew him too is cause they was friends and he knew the truth thats why red had to kill him before he told her the real identity or red

Amazing series with the stupidest end ever.. for 10 years people are trying to figure who exacty the reymond is and what his relationship with liz and tom, Mr.kaplan and so many others died in pursuit of that and at the end reymond is killed by the bull? What the f???? Die whatever way u like bt atleast tell the poor people who u really r 😡😡 stupidest end in the history. If u cant end the gud mystery series then honestly dont create one and dont even to think running it for 10 years and end it bullishly stupid. 😡

Red is Katharina. - she was burned, he has scars on his back. - when he taught Liz was dead, he went back in his memories when he returned in the house by the beach where he killed the agents who came for Katharina but in S08E21 we see that those were Katharina's memories and that she was the one killing those agents - in the last épisode of S08 Liz asked if he was the one taking the famous picture and made him promise to answer sincerely but he said that he was there ( so not the one taking the picture and certainly not the little girl...) -also ( but not that pertinent) Katharina said in S08 she created somebody to protect and not made someone to take the role - Red says equally in S08 that Stepanov was on of his oldest and deepest Friends which matches with what Katharina said ( when she was a young girl the only one who understood her and helped her was Stepanov) - Dom himself new Red was kat thats why he was mad at him because he took away his daughter ( the identity of his daughter) And lastly, Stepanov stoll those documents and gave to Katharina ( Red) but he said it was of no consequences because they will have never found Katharina ( because she was Red already) Bonus : Townsend wanted to kill Liz after Stepanov spoke for one reason. The most important think for him was to make the person responsible of the death of his family to feel what he filled and when he knew that Red was kat the best way is to make him(she) see liz die as he saw his family die too Conclusion : Reddington is Katharina.

Raymond Redington deserved a better ending than that!..

what i dont understand with shows that have long runs, which gives you time to get invested in the characters etc, why when the end comes the creators have such a problem wrapping up a series. Look at some the best shows in TV, Sopranos, Dexter, Seinfeld, and so on, how can you not have a fantastic ending ready? My wife and I watched all 10 seasons of Blacklist in about a month. We were hooked pretty quickly and would watch 3-4 episodes at a time. Spader was awesome in this series, and overall it had a lot of good characters. It wasnt a perfect show there was a lot of nonsense but it didnt take away from the show itself. But to have the ending it did was such a massive let down. As a viewer you shouldnt be left standing there waiting for all of the answers this show had as the final credits roll on the screen. We had discussed as we watched the show about rewatching it sometime down the line but now, knowing that some of the main questions were never answered I have very little interest in watching the series again. Too bad because Reddington is a fantastic villain but we were let down by the creators of this show.

They don't directly say it but Raymond is 100% Katarina liz's mom who took on Raymond's identity using Dr Kohler. If you watch the banter between Raymond and Dom who is Katarina father you can tell how upset he is about taking Raymond identity and how he saw it as selfish on her part and then listen to Raymond and IIya who was on and off again lover to Katarina and also helped plan to take Raymond identity but Katarina decided to do it Instead of IIya. It's not the real Raymond reddington that is for sure because of the suit case of bones that was later tested and showed that it is the real deal corpse of Raymond reddington and the same time Liz finds the guy she has known for several years is in fact an imposter. All signs point to this Raymond being Katarina Liz mother. Plus NBC said in comments that they already answered this question just in an indirect way. All the facts laid out point to it being Katarina as the real identity of Raymond doing it and giving up her life to become Raymond to protect her daughter and herself too.

I loved this show and James spader in it, but after Mr Kaplan died I found it less and less interesting. I never watched anything after season 6, probably best not to bother...

Are we forgetting the burn marks he revealed to the no one but the audience. I think its easy to assume hes the real reddington but yeah, after Liz died, i knew it wouldnt wnd the way i wanted it to end.

That was katarina ppl. The blacklist was full of ppl that helped him turn into Raymond thats why all the criminals knew him

One thing is for certain the actor that played Raymond is phenomenal! Did such an amazing job it masked a lot of the downside of other character arks.

They should have kept the series going. And Reddington shouldn’t have died that way even though he was so ill. 😢
