Still not too handy at learning pieces by ear, but we're getting there.
Felitsa: Yiannis ("Yanni") Chrysomallis

This lovely piece turned out much more difficult than it appeared at first. Couldn't get it up to the composer's tempo signature of MM=112, in spite of practising it zillions of times.

Thought I'd try this mysterious piece from this off-beat French composer. The piece has no key signature, no time signature, and no bar-lines.

My first time playing Tiersen on TH-cam. With thanks to J3th1k for encouragement.

Early XVIII century. Normally played on flute. Here played, by ear, on piano.
I love your version of this great classic.
Love of Ireland.
Lovely Thanks!!!!
very distilling version. thank you.
Very nice! Now can you show me how The Derry Hornpipe should be played, please?
What a delightful performance! For anyone who is interested, here is a transcription available as a PDF I found after listening to this. home.earthlink.net/~markdlew/shw/IDreamt.htm
Hi, just wondering if it would be possible to get sheet music for Belfast Hornpipe? Love your rendition of it on piano. Would greatly appreciate the music. Thank you.
thx this is great music for me 2 practice with :D
Beautiful, I simply had to create my own version after seeing yours. Thank you for your inspiration! : )
Very nice. I play piano in an Irish session group, but I usually just play the chords and let the other instruments play the melody. I wish I could play this well.
Belfast hornpipe on fiddle
Is this a written arrangement? I would really like to find it and learn to play it.
very nicely played
what shirt are you wearing? Is that a football jersey? If it is, you're as cool as can be.
superb playing thanks
lovely job
This is very excellent.
Always loved the little semitone clash between the E and F towards the end of the piece - Tallis obviously was way ahead of his game at the time!
It' the character of the 3rd mode (Phygian) so notes of C major staring and ending on E.
Hmm Tá tú in ann caint i nGaeilge?Tá sin iontach maith táim in ann labhairt é go maith mé féin. Tá mé lán le Gaeilge =P Tá an sé álainn maith. job iontach déanta agat.
by the way what key are you playing it in? and where did your piano cover go XD
great job! it's not often that i see irish music being played on the piano, i might try this out, simple vamping on the left hand, but simple is great, love the flowing feel of it
Very nice job. Some people struggle more than others in life, sometimes those people are able to put their pain to notes. I believe this is one of those pieces.
i really love what Vaughan Williams did with piece for a double string orchestra!!! its stunning. the university string orchestra was meant to play it but then they took it out of our repetoire and we went sooo mad lol. x
really beautiful piece, well played what more can you ask for?
fantastic performance ! thank you so much for uploading the video. you played it very beautifully and a bit slower doesnt make it any bit less interesting and emotional !
Thomas Tallis wrote some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard. Thanks for this wonderful rendition. Very good to hear an alternative to the organ, much as I love that.
beautiful playing!! :) --claps-- i think ill record me someday lol but im not good at it :P
álainn
make love and nice music...not war =)
really good that
great!!!
Well done! That is such a beautiful melody!
Good job. I think you have this song nailed :)
Very good effort my friend. At least you respect that it's not a piece that must be finished in ten seconds like so of the other players have demonstrated. Why not practice the treble and bass pieces separately so you can pinpoint which passages are truly giving you the most problems. I think what makes this piece so difficult is in trying to capture the "fluidity" it requires and the timing of course between both hands. Brilliant either way.
i play the violin and my friend plays the piano. we've decided to do a few duets together, like felitsa, but it's more difficult than it sounds. thanks for this version, it's slow but it's still bellissimo. we can learn from you. by the way, nice outfit, just what a pianist would wear :-D
if you listen to his music, you'd love it it, my garantee =D
Great job. I have never heard much of Yanni's music but if the rest is anything like this then I am missing out apparently.
Only a critic would not enjoy this video for what it is...... a pleasure to listen to! : )
i like this so much yanni music my #1
I'm struggling with the transition from playing guitar to learning piano..... so I usually play tunes that the wife can tolerate hearing a few times : )
I agree..... Very Nice Indeed!
very well!!!! I like your version of this piece con you see my video, in my site???
molto bella!!!!!!!!!
brilliant !!!!
I'm afraid I am not that brave... I love to play, but only to myself. But thanks to you, I can now play the song all the way through, few mistakes but I'm happy!
Probably might be able to help you with that sheet... send me a message if you are interested. I have good memories about this melody. I once played it on a flute (blockföte). Very tricky one :)
I commend you for practicing till you can play this piece well, I am a little embarassed to say I gave up after a few tries but now will go back to doing it again after seeing your efforts.
It's a lovely piece--even played at this speed. I've found that I rarely play anything as fast as the metronome mark on the top of the page. I don't know this piece, so what's the word describing the tempo next to the metronome mark?
well...playing without any mistakes and putting your own feelings into a pice like this, is awesome at my point of view ;)
