Well it’s a good game I made to vorador last night and it is better than I remember but it definitely isn’t as timeless as something like ocarina of time or soul reaver. It still shows it’s age those and those load screens are the main reason why having to wait about 15 seconds every time I want to go in and out of my start menus is a bit annoying.

Fuck yes!. I preoreed day one. Been liking every news thing they do😂 bought Blood Omen with money I barely have, and it's the only thing stopping me from having 2 right now.

This game and Metal Gear Solid were huge deep in my life of gamer, unforgettable!

There is literally nothing to be worried about. It's nothing but a face lift. People just want shit to complain about.

Remember playing this on the ps1. Loved it. Didn't like the 2nd one much though.

I hope they can get Amy Henning back for a final sequel to defiance. It would have to focus on an uncorrupted Kain destroying the Elder God, and making sure his Fledgling self can survive to stop the Device being used by the Hylden.

i can imagine, that newcomers to the series, will be in for a chok of a sort. From the rich stories and dialog, to the amount puzzeles and it simple approach to combat.

This is good news! The old series is said to have sold poorly, but those who did buy/played it, were obsessed…like me! Not looking for a revival, writers suck now, and it would not hold a candle to what Amy Hennig created. What I AM looking for is for them to do Defiance in the same fashion, so I can at least have the trilogy!

Just as I told you. There is nothing to worry about. The series speaks for itself and so do the pre-orders.

I pre-ordered it on my Series X and Switch, I can imagine other fans have done the same and got it on more than one system.

I would not want it remade. The original was somewhat clunky as a game even when it released and was nowhere near of what Diablo had done as far as gameplay goes. But We all know what made it special. The story. Any kind of remake/reboot would have to change it somehow and i can`t really think of any modern game studio that could do this game justice. Even in recent SR remaster trailer Raziel introduction looks like they are presenting a Fortnite character. If someone will ever remake BO they`ll probably just add some "modern" shit, make the cast more diverse and gay and cut things that they would find problematic for modern audiences so they could sell it to as many people as possible. Big games nowdays are a buisness, not passion projects. The original LOK died over 20 years ago. Let`s just remember it for what it was. A good story that does not need modern day adaptation. Like a good book You once read.

I'd prefer a remake, simply because i never liked games with a top-down visual. I played BO1 and i loved it, but the top-down visual felt like a cumbersome limitation.

Remake VS remaster... Hmm... Couldn't say this is a tough question. I think, a remake is the right way to go - for all those reasons you've mentioned. Totally agree with that. As for the nostalgia, I've got an idea. In some remakes of pretty old games (PS1 era and old arcade games) there is an in-game option to play the full original game. A game within a game, so to speak. In this case we could explore Nosgoth in it's dark, reborn glory AND compare the remake directly to the original, if we want to. And there is another idea - a WISH - just in case the almighty creator gods are listening... Every game (okay, most games) needs a good tutorial and I would LOVE it if we could play as Vorador in this tutorial instead of just watching the cutscene at the beginning of the game. Could you imagine? Sneaking into the fortress and slaughtering the first guardians as this vampiric force of nature? It would be so cool. And we would get a great comparision between him and the newborn fledgling we are going to play as for the rest of the game. Maybe they could also include Vorador's second fight against Malek and after that we switch back to Kain... Ah, just wishful thinking!

IMO the artistic area of the games (story, music, voice acting, art style) should remain intact, while the technical area (graphics, controls, camera, combat system) should be improved and modernized.

A remaster does not preclude a remake. It serves a very different purpose of ensuring the original work still functions and can be appreciated. A remake on the other hand is intended to add new ways to experience the original story. Both should be able to coexist, and a remaster might be more practical for the moment given that it’s a fraction of the cost and Embracer still isn’t doing so well. The remasters seem to be though, and adding Blood Omen would allow fans to have a complete collection.

Worried about the remasters? Not in the slightest! Yes, it would be nice if they would enhance/overhaul the movement animations for certain characters, especially Raziel's gliding animation and Dumah's run cycle, but even if they don't do that, these games will be brilliant. There is no other game on the market, which could hold a candle to the storytelling of the LoK series, and the people will appreciate this. At least in the case of both Soul Reaver games and Defiance, there is no need to be worried. The Blood Omen games are another topic. They need more than just a remaster and I'm not sure, if Aspyr could handle that. BUT on the other hand, I think, they are on a very good way, and with the help of the community maybe we will see a lore-friendly remake of Blood Omen 1 & 2 one day. As long as they don't do anything really stupid - like reviving Dead Sun - we really don't have to be afraid of the future of LoK.

well i'm not too worried about the games my main gripe witch was rahab's design has already been fixed. Performance wise I think the main thing they could probably fix is update the camera controls for SR1 I heard a few players had issues with it. I would like the pillars to look a little more like the fan-remastered pillars updated texture for the throne to make it look more like the fmv throne and giving the runes at the base that gold trim really makes them pop and it looks a lot better but it's no deal breaker if they don't do that but it would be really nice. one other thing the fan remaster did was the added cut texture back into the game I hope this remaster dose that as well. But what I am worried about is the lack of ads for this game. they need to make people more aware of the game, we need more trailers better trailers than what we have now.

I wouldn't get my hopes up on updated mechanics pertaining to the actual gameplay, Soul Reaver 1 and 2 were solid. It fell under those platformers like the original tomb raider games, where you hold R1 to autoface/walk so you don't fall off platforms and the movement and level systems are tuned for each other. There's not a whole lot that needs to be changed. Maybe a better 'look' feature instead of R2/RT + L2/LT, simply using the right analog, that's kind of the only thing I can see happening, but even then I'm not sure that would even be a good change since you can't use the face buttons at the same time, etc etc, the game worked fine the first time around lol.

Let's not forget that the same as happened with TR remaster, it probably will have a lot of patchs to enhance the visuals.

I am too against a remake, but I would accept a remaster like it was made with Metroid Prime Remaster or even the Tomb Raider remasters.

I'm not sure why people arent complaining about some other stuff. Like the soul reaver itself seems to be a slightly better version of soul reaver 2. But the only reason soul reaver1 and 2s reaver looked that way were due to limitations, they should have made it like the one in defiance where it actually looked like a spirit sword again like in the original soul reaver 1 cutscene when it exploded
