So does anyboy know if this was written with any specific people and/or events in mind? I did see that the video is bookended with FOR VICTIMS AND SURVIVORS; is that a general thing, or specific people affected by a specific event? I heard this first by way of Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin's album from last year. That version is great, and I do like the Christy Moore version, but im glad I looked up the original, its the best of the three. These are top shelf lyrics, and an arresting vocal performance. It really does the job of setting a bleak and traumatized atmosphere.
