Is the Chatterbait EVO better than everything else on the market or just hype??
I’ve got originals, jackhammers, Berkley slobberknockers, and strike king thunder crickets. I’ve always hated the price tag on jackhammers but I pay because they are truly superior to other bladed jigs. That may have just changed with the new evo. At $10 they are the cheapest premium bladed jig on the market now and in this video I’ll go over some of the key features.

In this video I’ll go over the process of installing the reflex optic by Holosun technologies on my Glock 10mm. After getting it installed I went to the range and put several rounds through the gun getting it sighted in. Throughout the video I’ll give my first impressions of the gun and sight. #glock #10mm #holosun
Osage #selfbow ready to hunt…….. maybe??

I started this project over a month ago and I finally got a shootable bow. I’ll talk a little bit about it and give my thoughts on the final product. Osage is a great wood for building a long lasting bow but it’s also tough to work with hand tools. This is my first bow but I’m motivated to keep building more and gaining experience.

I shoot the Glock factory ball and cup sights accurate, but if I carry it I replace with either Trijicon or Ameriglo night sights or suppressor height sights; then shoot the heck out of it until I'm confident accurate with it to carry.
I noticed I did have to bump the rear sight a little after I shot about 25 rounds and noticed the left/right was off. I was happy the height was better than before because I prefer to hold 6 o'clock position instead of having the front bead cover my impact point.
Awesome
Buy aftermarket screws for the SCS, holosuns screws suck and break all the time.
I've heard that from several people I may look into it
Took me a while, but I see it grazing in the background 😮
I think he smelled me because they usually avoid going over and down the back of that pond dam
Slide in vise w a rag. Plastic punch (plastic roll from adding machine tape) ball pein hammer, drift out, left to right. drift in right to left. front sight w tool. 8 minute job in its entirety start to finish.
sounds like ingenuity
I carry my 43x when I got hunting too.
they are pretty handy

Hey man, great video! How did you install the draw check?
I used the adhesive on my upper limb and I tied a loop around my string with a bump of serving to keep it from sliding up or down. I guess I could have put it through my string but I was worried about twists. The ironic part of that is it actually twists anyway using the loop method. It's easy to untwist after each shot but next time I'll probably serve it to my string.
@Philip_Corley Thanks for that! Can you tell me about how you adjusted the clickers string to match you draw length? I'm a bit confused about that.
@@Thumb.Shooter a ton of drawing and sliding my tie up the string. by moving the tie-in stopper up it lengthens my draw and moving it down shortens my draw. I had to draw over and over just getting it right past my comfortable draw. I wanted to be fully drawn and if anything maybe 1/2" over my normal draw. I'm trying to train my muscles and brain to get that maximum draw without hitting my sleeve.
@@Philip_Corley Thank you! I've put a clicker on my bow, and it makes such a difference! Just being able to draw to the same place each time is a huge benefit!
I'm kinda late seeing this video but I just bought the Stay Sharp 344 sharpening jig for sharpening my G5 Montec broadheads. It puts a 44 degree hollow grind bevel on the blades versus the 60 degree flat bevel that they come with.
I've seen some videos that show changing the angle to the hollow grind and reducing the angle gives a dramatic increase in sharpness. videos where they sharpen one broadhead flat and one on the Stay sharp jig and the stay sharp is like 50% sharper. it's crazy
Just bought one of there to use with my new recurve. Getting decent left right groups but not so much vertically. Eventually I will go with a limb mounted clicker but right now this seems like a great solution. Plus it's pretty cheap at under $20. Well done sir !!
it's all about consistency with trad bows
@@Philip_Corley I am finding that out !!
Yeehaw! I've got a 60" Apache in the mail and she's a looker

thank you
I shot the following in NRA long range competition through a Remington 700 which was fitted with a 24 inch 1/11 twist cut rifled bull barrel from HS Precision: M852, M118SB, M118LR, FGMM 168’s, and FGMM 175’s . The most accurate ammunition at the 600 yard line was 168 FGMM and M118LR but M118’s recoil wore me out. At the 1000 yard line M118LR was best and with all of this variety fired in the 600 and 1000 yard competitions I won the American High Power Rifleman Award in Long Range. Of course, the M852 and M118 rounds are 7.62 match cartridges for M14’s used in competition but they shot well from my bolt gun, thousands of them. So no problems from my experience, and most of this ammo except M118SB could get me into the half minute arena at 100 yards. Also, since all of the 175’s use an MOA wind constant of 10 at 1000 yards in head math was able to help me properly adjust for wind in short order, which was a major factor in my success with it all. BTW, when the .308 came out Western Cartridge produced factory loadings with bullet weights as I recall from 110 to 220 grains so not good for use in M1A’s that came on the scene in early 1970’s since these rifles like the M14 were tuned to shoot projectiles from 147 to 173/175 grains.
good info
This is an interesting concept. Just for curiosity, I used a CAD program to see what the angle at the cutting edge actually is for a 20“ diameter sharpening cylinder. If the distance between the back tip of the blades is 1“ [I don't have one here} the hollow grind angle at the back of the blade is 27.1 degrees and tapers to 30.0 degrees at the point. I’m not sure the 27.1 degree angle at the edge of the hollow grind at the widest point is optimal, but the idea of 30 degree angle at the tip for breaking bones tapering to a lesser angle to cut seems logical. Some knife makers use a 10“ diameter grinding wheel to cut a hollow grind on their knives. That works out to a 24.3 degree angle at the cutting edge and again for us, tapering to 30 degrees at the point. Maybe we should be using the 10" diameter?
that's a very good point. blade thickness will become an issue when removing material for the purpose of creating a sharper edge and my entire goal isn't sharpness but improving the balance between edge and durability
Those groups are absolutely horrible.
Well.... There's always room for improvement I guess. LOL
Great advice. Thanks for sharing
You bet!
My glock 47 has a polymer base plate cover. Guess they listened to you haha

Sehr schön! Got one like yours, a hybrid. Love it.
Good choice!
Have you tested Amazon's 'keaup lighted nocks'? I'd love to hear your feedback!
what's the barrel length on that beast?
16 inch barrel but it's a heavy taper. The weight keeps recoil down a good amount
@@Philip_Corley Awesome, thanks.
That badboy can fit a whole row of corn straight out the field. Nothing like smoking jackfruit and beyond ribs for 24+ hours. As well as other living, high vibrational cruelty free foods
Is the recoil even significant? Im hoping so.. I love heavy hitters. Building a Glockzilla for my son and hoping that 10 has More power than the 40 cal. Going to put a huge comp on just for looks😮
The recoil is similar to my G22 in .40 cal. I think because the weight and barrel length tame a bit of the G40 recoil. I tell people that it's a lot different than a 45acp because of how snappy the 10mm feels
@@Philip_Corley I understand that. Thanks. The 40 is even snappier than the 45 in my opinion. Probably supersonic vs subsonic
In our club Norma 22 is the go to training cartridge, cheap, highly reliable and accurate enough for technical training of ISSF sports pistol and 22lr rifle 50m precision. SK and RWS are also excellent, especially SK Rifle Match and RWS Pistol Match, Eley unfortunately is too pricey we never tried them. Sellier Bellot Club 22 is also decent ammo for the price.
I've been more impressed with SK the more I shoot it. I don't have any Sellier Bellot at the moment
Fill a 5 gallon bucket up only half way with the corn. 2 gallons of the cheapest fruit juice you can find. Usually the store brand. 2 tablespoons of yeast 1 packet of fruit Jello Mix and set in the sun with the lid cracked or your bucket will expand and potentially pop. As the corn soaks up all the juice, fill with water each day to make sure the water is slightly above the corn. After 4 days or longer the "Slop" is ready to be placed out. Use a post hole digger to go down about a foot and fill it up with the slop. This will cause the Boar to stay in one spot and root the ground where the slop is. Pour the rest around your hunting area. Good Luck!
That's the proper way to do it. I think the sugar and yeast get it to smell a little stronger. For the area I hunt and the high density of hogs we have I can do it a little less complicated and have similar results. Your method is definitely better though. thanks for the recipe
Thanks for the work you put into this test, it’s helped me alot
Great to hear!
I made that same mistake. Bought a huge G40 and put a carry red dot on it. Same holosun matter of fact. Then I decided to do it right so I won’t have to rebuy parts. The pistol with all 7 mags totals up to $5,100. Bought it stock for $750
it is definitely and oversize pistol but you can't beat it for hunting
How do you love it??? What’s the update??Thanks. I have a g40 & will get that optic.🙏
it's been great so far I'm gonna post another video when I get a chance

ɪsɴ'ᴛ ʀᴇᴀʟ ɢᴜɴ?
The gun I fire in the video is the glock 43x not a replica or toy
Do not fire .308 Ammo on a rifle that is stamped 7.62x51. The Chamber pressures of this rifle you are using is designed for 7.62x51 not .308. The .308 Ammo will exert an additional 12,000 PSI on that chamber which could result in the warping of the chamber, and in some cases a catastrophic failure of the chamber wall casing injury to the user. On the other hand, a chamber stamped as .308 can fire both .308 ammo and 7.62x51 since it can handle to lower pressures of the 7.62x51. Don't let anyone try to sell you .308 Ammo on a Rifle that is chambered 7.62x51. There is no excuse for not being smart about this. This type of information can get people hurt thinking its ok to fire .308 on a rifle stamped as 7.62x51.
Thank you for bringing up a good point. If you watched the entire video I made mention several times that I was aware of the differences and that I was firing these different ammos at my own risk. If you had taken your research a little further you would have also found beyond SAAMI specs that NATO measures pressure differently. When you convert chamber pressures and look at the velocity of some 7.62 ammo you'll find less than 200psi in commercial .308 vs Military 7.62 ammunition. I'm glad you're watching the video and giving your safety opinion but I encourage you to read more articles and do more research. I take the same approach when trying new ammo as I do when handloading ammunition by staying observant of any signs of pressure or stress to the ejected brass. The video purpose is to show what I do in my own personal rifle and not to tell anyone what to do with his or her own personal rifle.
@@Philip_Corley firing this ammo at your own risk does not make it better and may encourage other to do the same and may not as lucky, hurt themselves and others present. Not a good role model.
I hope that everyone who watches this video will use their own judgement and stay safe.@@mj2801
.308 Winchester and NATO use different standard for measuring pressures. You cannot directly compare the two. Look at the muzzle velocity of either with the same weight bullet. I am seeing rated velocities within manufacturing tolerances of each other telling me the functional pressure is equivalent because...physics.
@@Mike80528 2000psi difference, if your rifle cannot handle that ( which normally are designed to handle 150% or more) than it will blow up either way
I took some of that wolf out last weekend .23 out of my same rifle guess my barrel likes that shit, SK HV shit .45 where yours shot the lights out, just never know
the Norma might shoot good for you if you have the same rifle as mine
Comparing expensive hamskea to the lower priced Qad isn't realistic
This was not a comparison video. I just mentioned the hamskea because it's what I have had the most experience with. If I were to draw comparisons it would be apples to oranges not because of price but because they function in a totally different way. I hope it didn't come off as a comparison to either rest.

Thank you. You're the only one who prepare hog bait without artificial sht. Hat off.
Well not always..... I had to try beer, koolaide, jello, hog wild, pig liquor, and a couple others before I learned that stinky sour plain corn worked the best in my area. I noticed the pigs on my deer lease and family farm don't like anything crazy and they get a little nervous when their nose gets overpowered. I think they like to be able to still detect human odor and when it smells 10,000 times stronger because of some weird additive they lose some ability to smell other odors.
I have a POF Revolution DI 308 16.5” barrel. I’ve purchased many different manufacturers and grains of ammunition and found anything lighter than 150 grain is huge groups like 2-3 moa. Hornady Black 168 grain is 1/2-3/4 moa consistently. Federal Go;d medal match is also under moa five shot groups. The federal ammunition and Hornady is the majority of what I shoot. I’ve found Winchester ammunition in 308 and 556 is crap. Very inconsistent velocity which equates to large groups. Shorter barrel normally needs heavier grain to stabilize for good groups.
Federal GMM ammo in both 168 and 175 grain shoot good in all my .308s. The Hornady Black 168 and 178 grain is really great ammo too. The heavy bullets shooting better in your gun could also have something to do with the throat of your chamber and the twist rate of your rifling.
Thanks Phillip Stay blessed
You're welcome
Hey Phillip,Can you tell me where you got that pedestal seat, and who made it? thanks
I'll have to go back and look but it's most likely a Millennium. That's what I've always used. They make amazing treestands too. There is a full seat, half seat, and leaning post they make for fishing.

just seen this great job i will be trying this it called "Sharp 344" cheek it out
after I started using this method and seeing better blood trails it really got me thinking about finding a well made sharpener and searching the internet. I think there is only one out there and I don't know why there aren't more. I need to look for a Sharp 344 and check it out. This is really the only way I'll shoot a woodsman style head anymore.
You get what you pay for as the old saying goes. My Armalite AR-10B, which costs 2K+ but will shoot 1inch groups or better at 100 yards using AAC match ammo. Maybe, you should try AAC ammo or upgrade the barrel to a match grade barrel. May I suggest a Ballistic Advantage 20" Heavy Profile barrel and have it fluted to reduce weight. You will be getting 1 MOA groups after a little upgrade! You can't beat that for only $250.00
good quality match ammo and a good scope makes a big difference. still I wouldn't say i'm dissatisfied with the accuracy. the gun has produced several sub moa groups. not bad for a $700 AR I guess I could do a match grade ammo comparison video?

I know the pain
I was in a bad mood for about 8hrs after this. Just absolutely ruined my day.
I hate when I work on something and realize I was doing it wrong the whole time and I have to restart
I can't think back to a time when I felt dumber. I held it in my hand working and sanding on it for an hour.
My rpr likes the Norma tac but the black box. Haven’t tried the Norma red box yet, I did manage to get 2 boxes of it yesterday. Gonna head out to the range this weekend hopefully weather cooperates!
good luck, let me know how it shoots
I learned today that you dont want a bow in your bow😂😂 learn something new every day thanks friend
LOL this is true
A 3 1/2-year-old deer is not young up here in northern Minnesota.
not too many bucks reach their 4th birthday in east texas either. the lease where this deer lives has strict management rules that focus on growing and shooting older trophy bucks. when I hunt public land or family land I'm happy to get a deer like this
the suppressor just ties it all together
I will admit, people never talk to me at the range when I'm shooting my old deer rifles, but people always come up and visit when they see a tactical gun like this one or one of my ARs. I guess it just looks appealing
such a great looking rifle.
Thank you, I really appreciate that. It truly is a great functioning stock as well.
I'm not sure which latitude generation latitude saddle that is but the Latitude 2 is what I would buy. I was fortunate enough to get a Custom saddle rated to 400 lbs. a couple of years ago that's very much like the Latitude 2 for fit & comfort that I'm thinking about just getting a Latitude 2 to have as a backup. My custom saddle is very similar to putting on & sitting in as the Latitude 2. I'm an Arborist by trade & know the advantages to Amsteel but I like the webbed strap better for feel that my custom saddle has. A very small diameter Amsteel which will float in water for being lightweight, but the webbed strap will help me control my movement just a little bit more when I have to move & position for a shot. But the latitude is similar to my custom saddle when it comes to putting it on & riding 2 miles on my bike to a destination. I used to think that my New Tribe flex made saddle that was in a Predator camo finish was nice until I upgraded to a mesh style saddle. U need to have comfort & flexibility when saddle hunting. When I talk to people that have Tethrd it seems that all it is about is buying. Into a brand that sells u more accessories to add to it that in the end just adds to hip pinch. It doesn't have to be that way. I have pants that I can fit layers under & these pants have knee pads that have the pads sewn in between 2 layers. With that I can stay more stealth & if it's dead calm I can put a pair of fleece pants over them. I have some knee pads but I've never worn them once. To me Tethrd is just another stick climbing corporate community that makes u invest in multiple items. I climb with a rope for more than one reason. It's the safest, the most stealthy & it makes me use less metal which is the most important when it comes to being a minimalist. I'm trying to go in light 1st & foremost. 😅😮🎉
Great info and thanks for sharing. I agree, I like the webbing and I see no real downside to 1 inch tubular webbing in terms of strength.
Nice looking Bow 🏹😊
thanks. it seems like I shoot it right where I'm looking and that's the main thing I like
