CRP Burn with some really cool drone footage
Looks great Rob
I bet you laid the posts out flat on the ground, first rule you never lay metal items or tools out in the sun you stand them up so air circulates around them. They still get hot but not burn your skin off hot.
Looks like a nice shagbark hickory too.
Very nice results!
How did you end up terminating the rye grass and roughly what time of year did you terminate
Thanks, so simple.
Excellent review. Thank you!!
Awesome, Rob! Great job. Curious, why the name Wallstreet?
since 3 year old on he had those inside points. Inside=insider trading=wallstreet.
Boom!
Good stuff! Wait till you get a hard frost for those natives to go dormant before spraying.
Good review! I sprayed flex seal over the vents in mine
This is really Fascinating to Watch
Excellent stuff, mine came back great after 5is years burn in se iowa
😆 'PromoSM'
Ilike the careful, boundry setting, small burns that made things safer then the big field burns. How mant acres was that big field, gone in how many MINUTES with only a light breeze?
I like the fire behavior when the breeze spiked, graphic difference this would probably be a great traingn clip.
I’m stumped!!!! 🧐🤔😜🥳😂
Auto pilot😂!!!
I had major thistle my second year and used milestone and was amazed how great it looked later that summer
Beautiful stand! What's your pre emergent herbicide of choice?
Hooray finally an operator that really gets into it, instead of pissing about doing f@#$% all, great to watch hope you have more to come, All the very best to you, Al
We learning this together! U got it down!!! Looks awesome!!!!
This is the only way to water trees. No run off, no waste.
Quinclorac has the dual benefit of smoking some broadleaf plants as well, from my experience.
Thank you for the video! I have a 3 yr stand of switch that I have struggled with weed control. I hit with quinclorac and 2-4d on Monday. You’re giving me hope it will come around and establish
What did you spray for the Japanese Beatles, I deal with them yearly in my wild life orchards?

Толково! Хорошо сделано. И это правильно.
Great video
What size drill bit? How many holes?
1/8 is good, i drilled i played around with 1 and 2 holes and 2 holes is the money. imo but yeah try 1 hole first and see if you like that rate of flow if not try 2!
Do. We need. To. Move. Buches around the trees? Cheers from Europe😊
2 or 3 1/8”holes at >2-3gpm. >2-3gpm is the appropriate rate.
yes move in clockwise or counter clockwise each week time watering on more outside edge of root ball.
Lot of sunlight & room for growth- looks great. Do a video end of season if able!
Did the switchgrass grow from the seedbank?
We planted it.
@@midwesthabitatcompany9321 only switchgrass? Those trees will get cooked in future fires if the switch takes off.
@@native_landscapes just knock it back before burning. Easy peasy.
@@midwesthabitatcompany9321 brush hog?
This is dramatic, but it fails to show the hard work of preparation. You only show the head fire that goes with the wind. Setting the boring back fire takes most of the work.
There is some back burning shown. Thanks for watching.
awesome stuff.....wish I could burn more at my place...in timber and fields....do you have any colleagues in your line of business in SE iowa? Keosauqua area. looking for someone to burn or even just help burn (watching firelines) my place...
Natural browse/Food, thick cover, future great quality trees, etc etc. Ton of benefits there!!! Everyone needs some of this & secessional forest age on farm. Perfection, well done!!
love your work and your videos....I have a place in SE Iowa and battle ironwood like I see in some of your videos. what is your take on shingle oak? I have spots that are taken over with them thick and fire doesn't seem to impact them and they are so dense now fires don't carry through them. I've done some hard weekends cutting them individually and painting stump but that is time consuming/back breaking.....curious if you have run into them and how you handle them.
Looks great! How long ago was the TSI and burn?
All within last 3-5 years.
Wow! What a buck! Congrats on that trophy!
Wow todd!!! Frigin giant!!!! Huge congrats and you deserve it !!!
Congratulations Todd Mayer!! Well done!
I did the same, but haven't been back to check on it. I'll be tickled if mine looks like that.
What was on there before brassicas? A plot or u start from blank slate like grass/weeds?
Blank slate! Spring fertilized P&K. Sprayed it. Burned it. Lightly tilled. Seeded. Cultipacked. Sprayed it. Will top dress with treated urea.
Can you explain how and when you fertilize?
You’ll literally be hunting “ditch chickens” this season!!!! 🥳🤯. That looks PERFECT!!!!!
Wow. Crazy big for 2nd year trees. Where did you source these trees from? What rootstock are they on? I assume you bought these and didn't graft them. Were they bare root or potted?
Look great can you show a follow up video showing how they look today? Thanks
Sold that farm but I'll see if that would be possible
You should show a follow up vid after spring greenup.
I second this
