Revving the piss out of that 250 and riding it like that with a heavy load is a great way to break parts. I had a ‘93 King Quad and the low gearing and diff lock was great for areas where you had traction but the lack of power and inability to shift it fast caused it to get stuck on sand hills that other quads went up with little problem. The stupid drum brakes didn’t work very well and had a tendency to freeze solid if left outside overnight. Those models were also heavy and difficult to work on. The independent rear also lost ground clearance when towing heavy loads. The two different sized tires was a stupid design and limited you on selection. I liked their low seat height and low center of gravity. The engine ran smooth and it was a comfortable, quality 4-wheeler. Definitely on the slow speed, work side of things.

Worked for a Ford construction dealer in England 70s and 80s Ernest Doe and sons Watford .Ford had a range of three machines all with Ford engines .A62 had 4 cylinder turbo charged engine,A64 had 6 cylinder naturally aspirated engine [ most popular] and A66 had 6 cylinder turbo charged engine .Very good machines only prone to articulating bearings collapsing and front axle chassis support breaking.

I want one of these. They're getting hard to find, especially one that isnt torn to hell.

Those little 250's are some damn good work horses. The only other two Steve's as reliable are the king quad version and a fourtrax 300

@Swekipp Jag har inte så mycket mer filmat på vimeken,tyvärr. Det finns en del men där är variatorn trasig så den drar inte så bra på dessa filmer.

@hycket Great loader, we have a 1981 A64 here in Québec and it's a non-turbo engine. Surely not the same as your A66

@bjugen1 -- No. Suzuki ATVs of this age have independent front and rear suspensions with CV axles. You're seeing the A-Arm suspension flex... that's all.
