Keith McCready v. Earl Strickland 1988 Brunswick World Open
Semi-Finals at 1988 PBA Brunswick World Open at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. Keith McCready v. Earl Strickland. Earl talks to himself; Keith talks to the crowd. Great vintage video of a formal pool tournaments from this era. Earl at this time was heralded as the 4-time Akron Open champion and two-time U.S. Open 9-Ball Champion, though he later went on to win five U.S. Opens. Earl is in the prime of his caeer here at a young 26, and Keith was a mere 30. Steve Mizerak and Barry Tompkins commentating.

Keith McCready v. Efren Reyes 1988 Brunswick World Open
มุมมอง 192K11 ปีที่แล้ว
Comes down to the double hill, race to 9, at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas at the 1988 Brunswick World Open 9-Ball Championship. Both players dressed up in tuxedos and played hard. Lots of famous pool players in the audience. Video quality is not the best, but it gives a glimpse of what pool was like in the '80s, considered by most as pool's golden years.
Keith McCready vs. David Matlock Bartable Pool Match
มุมมอง 48K11 ปีที่แล้ว
First annual Magnolia Classic at Lakeside Complex in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, which was a bar table pool tournament. Match between David Matlock and Keith McCready. Not sure of the year this took place, but I think it's in the '90s.
Earl Strickland vs. Grady Seasons
Just keeps getting worse and worse Take it off i cant handle it jeez.thanks for this match when meucci was top of the pool cue world
Great post. Any old video of Kieth is greatly appreciated. People really have no clue just how good he really was (IS!!) This vid shows how he played in many tournies back at that time. He made is money AFTER hours, when the big bucks where bet.
these pockets are huge
Only Efren could make a tux and bowtie look like he's wearing a $2.99 boy's size 20 shirt from Woolworth's Bargain Basement. But what a true champion, making the most of his talent, unlike some pool might-have-beens.
Efren Reyes swore at 21:00 LOL.. He said "Gago talagang putang ina " means " Really Stupid Mother Fucker" and the commentators didn't have any clue what he said..lol
The best there ever was. Efren doesn't even have the right to wax McCready's cue. Great shootin Evil.
It's amazing how the mentality of the game has changed so much. The announcers are always suggesting offensive shots, even when defense is obvious. Very different these days.
Hey, the payouts back then are about what they are now...lol
35:50, Efren put an inside spin on that 9? HITW?
Wow. What an upload!! Thank you very much.
Reyes is playing with a $15 cue. nice
I love this...two of the biggest characters in pool at this time. It's amazing that Earl is still a top player today...
McCready was definitely a force to be reckoned with back then! I loved watching him play at Hard Times. He so animated. So after watching this I'm wondering a what time did Efren start playing ridiculously bomb with the kick-safeties (founded probably by him from God) and weird english shots (???).
Amazing how little Mizerak seems to know about the shots, a 4-time straight pool world champion. Of course it's only an act to create intrigue among the layman viewers, but somewhat irritating anyway. I like these old matches though; they bring some flavor in pro matches that these days have no drama or emotion to speak of.
8:43 LOL
It's like a nightmare, isn't it?
Hmm earl playing left handed for a couple shots.
great draw at 19:55
Barry Tompkins looks like D.Hoffman!!
love this video, i wish there were more of keith. thanks Jan for sharing
Thank you for posting this match.
Its good to see a young Efren Reyes play. Priceless
Efren looked like the Pacman ;)
WTH we didn't get to see the end.....Thanks for posting what you had. Ken
Great match - but I have to ask - Keith looks like he just went 5 rounds in the cage against Chuck Liddell ... there has to be a story... ;)
great upload! Unfortunate about the quality but I guess it's from an old vhs so that's cool.
AWESOME!!! Thank you! Do you have any more? Also, CLEARLY not a foul; the OB goes over 90 degrees off the line of the CB.
Takes a very secure man to wear a matching sparkle blue bowtie and cummerbund.
Thanks for posting! I grew up watching Keith play and it is always a treat to see him in action!
the fundamentals of pool players have really grown since
Keith McCready is incredible in the lag, he always glues cue ball to the rail...astonishing!
Thanks for posting some vids Jam!! :) This is JAlan from AZ...
thank you!
