Hey Dusty how are you and the family??? Have a Merry Christmas!!!
@@SueTolson-c4d All good, and you have a Merry Christmas also.
The cutting boards are sweet. Appreciate the work and video:)
@@jarrettsettle8350 Thank you. And no problem.
Nice
I love the thought-out, non-biased take on what was behind the scenes. These people are getting ridiculous with being “certain” of things with no proof. Big w
In regards to "content" there is nothing wrong with scripting your video a little bit, but keep it natural and most importantly, fun! Keep up the good work 🤘🏻
@@Billy_bSLAYER Yes there is nothing wrong with scripted. I was mainly talking about people just shaking their butts for views Thanks for watching and giving feedback.
Glad you're having a nice day there, looks like our weather here in north Texas during the day, but at night it dips down into the 40's. Nice roof, it does look nice.

Nice tool tip. There are a number of times that I have needed a tool like this, and they are very reasonable in cost. Thanks!

So wont the salt water kill the lawn and garden? As salt water will do
@@mzimm460 Normally it would, But this spring when I saw that the corrosion was as bad as it was I didn't put any salt in it. I drained it most of the way over the winter, and just used water to fill it back up. I just used clorine most of summer. I don't think I spoke well to it in video. Sorry if there was any unclear spots. Thanks for conversing.
@@madebypapaw cool
What makes a pool a salt water pool? I have bought maybe 3 intex pools in the last 12 years and always had a saltwater system.
@@robertscottII This is the first setup i've had thats saltwater. The difference I can tell is the clorine generator attached to filter system. The other ones that I have had did not have that setup. Thanks for watching.
Ya, inexpensive temporary pools are cheap
Oh no, there goes the garden and maybe the lawn too.
@@PappyNet01 There is not much salt in it, I didn't put any salt in it this spring when I filled it up from winter. I noticed how fast the metal was rotting and just kept it plain water. Thanks for watching.
@@madebypapaw I thought you said you put salt water in the swimming pool? Anyway did you get another swimming pool yet? Best of luck taking care of swimming pools is a work-in-progress all the time.
@@PappyNet01 It had salt water when I first set it up last summer. I don't think I said it well, but it was set up as saltwater I just didn't add more after filling it up for this summer. I didn't expect it to rot so quickly. I don't have another pool yet. Going to wait till next spring to get one. A salt water rated one this time. I do like the salt water system.
Salt water and metal don't mix ower fault not the pool iv had my pool for 4 years
@@yesidrive I blamed myself in the video, I knew it would rot I just didn't expect it to rot that fast. I might have used the wrong way to say it. I was just trying to point out that this pool was built cheaper than my last one. Thanks for watching.

Cool video
@@billcable286 Thanks, thank you for watching.
saltwater and plants don't mix....
@@SRM_NZ I didn't put any salt in this year. And changed most of the water this spring. You are correct, if it was at the right level the plants would hate it. Thanks for watching.
That looked like a fun project
@@dlucks174 Yes we had fun, mostly my son. I did the clean up after. Thanks for watching.
I like that you did a double bottom plate on the walls. Much better for drywall and baseboard trim.
@@craigslist8011 Yes I like doing putting two. As you said better for nailing, and I was taught to do that many moons ago. It has just stuck with me. I think the better nailer makes up for the small extra wood expense. Thanks for watching.
Some of those cables are stapled too close to the face of the stud. You are required by code to keep the wires 1-1/4" or further back from the face of the stud. Get the metal staples they are cheaper and you can fit multiple cables under one staple. Get some tie wraps as well because if you miss a cable somewhere you can tie wrap it next to existing staples. Above the panel you will want to install boards above the panel spanning the space to make it easier to strap all the cables coming down.
@@ianbelletti6241 Thank you, I forgot about the 1 1/4. It's a good idea for above panel. Thanks for watch and suggestions.
@@madebypapaw you're welcome. I'm glad my experience can help you.
I was about to suggest that you add some framing support in the wall for a toilet paper holder and you then said you had planned on it. Sweet! What I also plan to add is extra blocking for a handrail beside the toilet and also the bathtub. I have a spinal injury and sometimes those handles come in handy if my back or hip is acting up. And I agree with you about the electric plug over the bath tub....sounds like a recipe for disaster to me! Placing it over a couple of feet to either side would be better.
@@MoonbeamAcres Yea we are going to have blocking everywhere. I am going to move plug alittle, daughter won't notice.
I appreciate you taking the time to show us your work and YES, I would actually enjoy watching you run your electrical and anything else you have to do to build your home. I am about to start the framing process in the Fall when it cools off some more and I get the garage cleaned out completely. My Son is coming into town in about 3 months to finish getting the junk he's stored inside it and then I will be ready to start framing it in and insulating it. I will also be dropping my own wires and will be writing what the wires are on the plugs, as well as on the wires themselves at the junction box so ensure safety and clarity as to what each one is. What you did was smart! I am also a subscriber of several electrician channels and I just recently discovered the NEC says that there has to be a 4' working space around a main breaker box to enable work to be done on it. So I have to reconfigure my design in the utility room area to accommodate that it is code compliant. I'm a new subscriber here, and am in north Texas and look forward to your further video's.
@@MoonbeamAcres Thank you for watching, I will put more videos up as I go. My channel is kinda all over the place. I have many interests.
@@madebypapaw I totally understand. I have another channel which I've had 3 or 4 years where I tell true strange stories of things that have happened to me. I have more stories to tell than I have time or video equipment to record. 😅 But I really do enjoy your videos and how you explain everything. It's because of folks like you that make it possible for this old Grandma to build her own Garageominium, so I thank you!
Your cabbage is HUGE
@@MmmnnnJefferson Yes they are doing well. Thanks for watching.
Just got randomly recommended the video. Looks sharp! Love to see blocking everywhere (even though as an electrician it makes my life hard haha.)
@@EthanMatlack Thank you, yea I am spanking myself on this one, I am doing the wiring. I am a fan of blocking. Thank you for watching.
Outstanding framing! Just wondering are you going to add insulation below your radiant barrier roof decking, with a modest air gap, of course? When I build a small house, I'm going to use 5/8" LP Techshield on 24" OC advanced framing. I'm biased to using 9.5" I-joists for the roof rafters and then adding R13 faced insulation between the rafters. I'd love to use R4 EPS over the top I-joist flange to reduce thermal conductivity between the roof decking & the joists. I expect to be a relatively inexpensive of dramatically cutting down on attic heat gain. I should end up with a robust vented 6" air gap that should push my R-value up towards R20 before taking into account blown-in insulation over the ceiling joists / drywall. Cheers!
Yes we are going to insulate. I have a company doing that for me. Thanks for watching the video. You have quite a bit of knowledge, thank you for the info.
