    There's just a massive disconnect. We feel it. They dont. Not to be a "Judas," and spend other peoples money in my mind, but heres an example from my own life: I have a wife and two children. We live within walking distance of my parents. I grew up fairly independent (moved out at at 16, of my own will.) My mother insists she wants to "help" me, my wife, and my children. I rarely asked for anything, except help with bills a few years ago. Currently, I am financially struggling due to nearly 3k of emergency expenses happening all at once. Tree fell on the house, had to get tree removed, have to patch the roof, have to get new glasses (mine broke, and I'm not technically legal to drive without them), have to replace a section of floor in my home, and replace the entire plumbing system of my home. All of this needs to happen in the next ~3 months, while also affording to feed a breastfeeding mother and a child; and our food cost have doubled in the last year, thanks to inflation. My entire adult life has been financial hardships, so I'm not really stressing; but I cannot ignore how diluted my (boomer) family is. I informed my parents of the financial struggles we're enduring, and their response was pretty much "wow, that sucks. We we could help, but we're financially struggling too." Then they buy a 2024 truck, and a new side-by-side within two weeks of telling me they "are struggling." I can suffer; but I cannot live within a lie.

    • @WilliamMcAdams
      @WilliamMcAdams หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also, to note, I possess the skills to fix the roof, floor, and plumbing. I do not possess the finances to buy the materials. Im already getting a "huge discount" on doing the labor myself; but even then, materials are expensive.

    I went into the army, spent entire nights on how to not fucking do this bs work anymore. Saved nearly all my paycheck. Got out, went to college, got paid to go to college. Started investing. Did really good. 28 now, can afford to retire. I owe it all to Big Dick Rick (tm) and his amazing 6 course work program that taught me to not be poor. In all seriousness, people lack financial education. Nearly all the people at the store where I work for fun, have zero idea. If they know something, it's because they got it from their parents. Otherwise they are screwed and waste money. One of my employees told me he literally doesn't know where his money goes. And these are hardworking people, they just don't know the value of a dollar at all.

    I hate the comments that are like be grateful hehe. Actually, no, wealth disparity is actually the widest it’s ever been. I study history and I think problems change but do I think the present is the most fortunate? In a lot of ways it isn’t and it could be headed backwards UNLESS we make noise and complain!

    • @WilliamMcAdams
      @WilliamMcAdams หลายเดือนก่อน

      As a fellow student of history; it's baffling how proportionatly screwed we are. Sure, we have common access to the "luxuries" of our time, but when you adjust that proportionately to historical time periods... yikes. People can't fathom how thrown under the bus we are, because their brain gets hung up on "well, our ancestors didn't have electricity and the internet, and we do, so therefore we're better off." Adjust. Proportionatly. Please.

  • @redfox78330
    @redfox78330 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Mainly, we are not taught financial freedom tactics because that’s not how our economy is set up. The uneducated are the base of the pyramid that pays the bulk of society’s income. To keep the majority just barely well/healthy enough to pay medical, bills and do low end labor/stressful jobs for the upper classes. If everyone was educated, our current economy would collapse. So, the only way out is through knowledge. Please encourage family, friends and children to seek out how our current economy system works and how to grow from it. Debt doesn’t need to be the only way to learn.

    Personally, 9-5 jobs- Stresses may not be you fault and you have little control over most aspects. Business owner- More stress but essentially is tied more directly to your achievements and failures. So you can take on more or less depending on your emotional ability at that moment. Having more control over the stresses you take on, changes the dynamic considerably. In comparison to you doing your best, but others dropping the ball and making your position potentially miserable.

    Imagine the 18-year-olds who have no idea what they're signing up for are taking out these loans because people they trust are promising that this is normal and everyone does it and it's doable... The fact that schools don't teach basic financial principles and send them out into the world like this and then say " but you took out the loans, that was your choice" Is extremely predatory. These poor kids don't even have a chance.

    Just go look at the profit margins and the actual gross of most companies nowadays. It's actually more than double what it was even 10-15 years ago, meaning they are making that much more money per item being sold. Did your wages increase by 50-100% to match the amount of money these companies are bringing in? Hell no! It's not that people DON'T want to work, it's that the jobs simply don't pay enough!

    Your video was extremely refreshing, im happy i found your channel. I was fortunate enough to realize college student loans became predatory. So after a community college run, i left for a trade job instead. Currently, still no "huge success" but I did manage to buy a home. I remained single for sad reasons. I'm slowly but surely paying off my home. I rarely trust any boomer tbh, I honestly think they are the biggest reason why we millennials, as well as gen z, are struggling to succeed.
