We rescued this poor crab from impending Doom
During a dive we came across this crab which at first I thought was dead. But it was still alive . It somehow got it self in such entanglement with discarded fishing line and fishing weights. We could not just leave it to its doom as it was stuck there in the open unable to defend itself. Being good divers as we are it was only decent thing to do to attempt to untangle the fishing line. It was not easy as you will witness for yourself .

My last dive adventure in Mexico. Personally I think I have left the best till last. The Yucatan Peninsula is home to some of the most breathtaking cenotes, and Cenote Chikin Ha is no exception. Located near Playa del Carmen, this magnificent natural wonder offers visitors the opportunity to explore an underwater paradise. Cenote Chikin Ha is situated approximately 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) so...

Spotties not looking for a "free lunch" they are just natural opportunist feeders! The levels of kina i saw wasn't too over the top, just a normal amount.
How are they "invasive" if naturally occurring. Think overfishing of kinas predators is the real problem
It is still a kind of tube worm. More than likely it is a variety of Peacock worm, Sabella pavorina, a marine polycaete worm. “A long, slender, many segmented worm up to 30 cm long and only 4mm in width. It lives permanently in a smooth, flexible, muddy tube that projects up to 10 cm above the sand. The head projects from the tube during feeding and bears a daisy-like crown of feathery tentacles in two groups. The body can be yellowish-orange or greyish purple in colour and the crown is banded in various colours. Widely distributed, and locally abundant, around all British coasts.”
Pretty sure it is still a worm. Looks like some kind of A feather duster worm.
It is a worm I think it’s found around Western Europe and the Mediterranean.
Where were you?
Loch long Scotland
Tube worm.
No .tube worm live in the Pacific and don’t have a fan of fathers like my peacock worm 🪱
"We then found this poor crab", after 4 hours of looking at sand and lures, I'm surprised it was still alive by the time you got there.
Firstly I wish we could spend 4 hrs underwater. We found it on our return in shallower water . Like yourself I am surprised it was still alive as well .
I would have saved it too, saved it for lunch!
Nooooooooooooo
@@Scubavery Yes! They're delicious!
@@mirandahotspring4019 you are bad 😂
@@Scubavery No, just hungry.
Nice job
Dam i got smallville flashbacks from this music
Btw, it's nice u helped the crab🔥🔥
lol . Can be difficult to find the perfect sound track to go with the video I thought this would do 😂
@@zilladraws6638 just couldn’t leave the poor thing in that state. God knows how long it’s been tangled up especially with the weights
My shears were in my mesh bag on the boat.
I normally carry my medical scissors put they had rusted had to bin them would have been perfect.
😀🇸🇪👍🏻
🫡🇬🇧👍
Fucking hopeless laws a orsum kai
Only dived there once and it was awesome. Aim to have another trip.
Not sure where you are from . But it must be on most British divers bucket list for sure . Unfortunately there are showing there age and started to collapse on its self but also exposed the inner parts that some divers are limited to look at . Myself also would like to return .
@@Scubavery Britain. I love diving everywhere, abroad and our coast.
Same here but mainly in Scottish lochs . But love warmer waters in a wet suit 😂
It's a mother fouq
I was fortunate for that to happen to me when I was diving of Wales years ago.
They just appear out of nowhere. The looks they give you as well you think they want to play ball if you had one .
You could've taken me home.
lol you are too hairy and very demanding 😂
Was painfull hearing u say KENA, instead of KINA, sort it out
Yes I know sorry 😞
This may be a silly question, but why not use the butterfly kick while diving away from the walls and bottoms? If you are in the middle of the cave and there’s no silt anywhere around, why not butterfly kick then?
One I have never done a butterfly kick . Plus I am use too my Apeks RK3 Diving Fins. The fins were very flexible and light . Not much time to get use to them like when I have to use my BCD for buoyancy instead of my drysuit. I tried a frog kick but again the fins just didn’t feel right . Thats my excuse 😂
<Shaking head> <Thinking> Dumb az,that will affect the rest of the food chain. The blue cod eat them, star fish ,seals, humans, crayfish . Heck, i suppose they had very small roe in them as well. Wrong time of the season 😕
look, water, lets throw our junk in it
Yes out of sight out of mind . There’s always something new . Mostly discarded vapes 😡
That was incredible and interesting I enjoyed it. Nice finds.
Thank you much appreciated. A local dive site but threatened by housing development . It’s where we take our new students to do jump entry’s and to get use to they drysuits before diving in the sea . A handy place to have
Is there any shark in the grand reef itself? I saw a few reviews mentioning "a" nurse shark in the grand reef.
In the grand reef there is a section where you go under the water line and there is a glass between you and the sharks which can be viewed from above . Hope that makes sense
@@Scubavery I know, I've seen that a lot. I just saw someone say there is also /a/ shark in the actual pool itself.
Ok what I can remember is no then . Unless they thought the long nose shovel ray was a shark due to its fin . Which can be easily mistaking .When I was driving in the Gold Coast there was a guitar, Ray which I thought was a shark as I never seen one before. Check out my video diving in the Gold Coast. Also there could have added a shark over time but to be honest I don’t think so . As they are so unpredictable even a nurse shark.
@@Scubavery Okay, thank you. I'm hesitating whether to shell out the $229 a full shark experience would cost for me that day, or $79 for the snorkel. I really love carpet sharks, but don't know if it's a bit pricey and being in the grand reef with the large rays is already fantastic enough.
For me personally it was worth every penny. I wish I can just pop on a plane swim around then come back the same day. What ever you decide it won’t disappoint. Have a great time when you do go .👍🦈🤿
That looked like a BMW? Was there any human remains in any of those cars? That pike needs a partner in there, please 😂😂😂
Could be ?? If there where the pike must of got to time . Pike needs company no ones enough 😅
Underwater disco lights. Fancy.
You will see in action on Tuesday 🕺🪩
Great unboxing video! Hope you enjoy the performance of the suit in the water too, let us know how you get on!
Thank you! Will do!
Very impressed with the quality and design of the suit and the little touches like the strobe holder . Also your customer service (Cara )10/10👍 I hope this video will get you more sales 💷
And the wife doesn't mind you wearing that to bed?? Mine does...
Only for special occasions 😂
Those must be the new style of rebreathers.
I just ordered one 😂
What I don’t get is how they are speaking to each other 😂😂😂
It’s a new design from Apex . I got the same regulator .when you speak to your dive buddy they can hear you via an earpiece. Highly recommend it 😂
Why we can’t utilise the water stored here and at other quarries is beyond me! Any thoughts?
Years ago someone wanted to buy the site or use the site for diving put the council said no that’s what I was told . Also this site was planned to be developed on ie drain the site and build expensive housing . .But the locals are having an on going battle with the council to stop this going ahead. The site is still used by us and divers great for training. For how long ???
The divers outnumbered the fish. Looks great though. 9.5weeks until I'm there. Its funny though that there's all those sculptures and you still looked under the pedestal for critters. I guess it's a Scottish diver thing. Hardly noticed the misting.
lol yes not many fish . I saw a crayfish I missed seeing them saw loads in NZ so I had to have a look . Footage doesn’t pick it up well . 9.5 weeks do to go. Do you need anyone to carry your cases. The misting 😡I noticed. Have to try it again in the Scottish waters again.
The way fish get into water is because of waterfowl. Fish eggs have a stickiness to them and as waterfowl walk through the water, the eggs get stuck to the birds which in turn fly to another waterway and deposit the eggs.
Thanks for that very interesting fact 👍
It boggles my mind that the government has a limit on the amount you can take home. Only the idiots in government would have a limit on a invasive species that's killing the ecosystem
Eat it
No 🤢
It is a shame there is so much trash down there.
Yes it is .would be a great site if someone took it over . Great for training testing equipment but not that deep.
This was a movie
Yes if you can watch it . Never ending air supply.
@@Scubavery is there other movies like that?
Not what I know off . Sorry
What would that Pike feed on !
Good question. At times there’s lots of frogs maybe it feeds on them . Only recently some divers spotted it and still looks healthy so it’s feeding on something that’s for sure .
Was that you? lol...
ME NEVER 😂 .. I believe it was someone that only completed 15 dives . It actually happened twice . But only caught it on camera once .
It's all the runoff and rubbish that ends up in the ocean that kills the marine environment.
"It's an eight day one of a kind experience, where you will clean toilets on our ship so that we can get around tax issues."
From the first minute I saw this sub and him in it with those game controllers, I said there's no way you'd ever get me on that thing ever ever.
Wow, that's otherworldly. Squish.
I want to laugh ….not too long ago that used to be me
I am only guilty of losing a weight belt holding on to rocks for my life . But that’s because I have no waist . I bet after your incident you double checked the next time you dive . Even today we are still learning the fine art of scuba diving 😂
Oh come on. You're just posting someone else's video after the fact?
Imagine forgetting something so important. Lol. Was that your Mexico trip?
Yes . Got my 360x3 back
Thats food
Yes you are right. Was handed out to anyone to consume after the event. But not for me
I will pay extra for that service I think there are a couple of boats in Florida that have them
Me too that’s for sure . Going up a ladder and feeling that weight getting heavier. Not as fit as I used to be .
2.24 never seen them like that or look like having a fart💨🤣🤣😭
Do you mean at 2:36 in the way it’s moving and the silt ?
