This looks like a creek that runs into the Mississippi? I used to fish several in the driftless area when I lived between Seneca/Lynxville/Ferryville. It was before I discovered Tenkara fishing and I need to get back to enjoy that area. 👍

Curious as to your footwear choice for this sort of adventure. I'm mostly a Tevas or wading boot guy, but I don't think either would be ideal for that type of rockhopping.

Beautiful stream Jared! That water was similar to the U.P., it has that "iced tea" color from the tannins leaching out of the leaves. Good on you for your perseverance. Thanks for sharing the wonderful scenery.

What size tippet do you generally use? Using 5x and get a lot of pile up with size 14 flies and sometimes 12s. Thinking i need to go 4x for most. Appreciate your advice!

Nice video!! I started Tenkara fishing last spring and I was struggling 😂. I stopped in at the Rod & Rivet and received some very useful information from Dre. I’m still learning, but improving every time I get out.

Glad to be able to call this fellow my friend and frequent tenkara companion. He’s taught me a lot. Also a heck of a lot of fun just hanging out with him. The best guide in the IA Driftless by a country mile.

Definitely the fastest I've ever seen you turn around a tenkara production, no way Dave can give you any grief on this one. Both those monster brookies and that first brown were amazingly extra special fish, glad you were able to enjoy them. Regarding those little football-shaped burrs, I just got into a mess of them here in IA a few days ago and it convinced me to just throw away my old, worn out wader gaiters rather than spend hours picking them out. Great video Jared, a very enjoyable one!
