Amazing seal footage! @4:17
Wow it was a fun day out there!
Quite impressive! I just stumbled upon your video. I loved swimming underwater in rivers in my youth (first learned to swim on the Applegate river near Jacksonville, OR), but I couldn't really dive because I found it impossible to equalize pressure in my ears and sinus cavities. Started hurting at only eight or nine feet and became unbearable pain by twelve feet of depth. I'll watch more of your content to enjoy the adventure vicariously.
How deep was your dives? I can be totally off, but it seems like 35-45 feet? Was just a bit confused because you kept on going down and down, but when you got to the bottom, there was quite a bit of light.
Deepest was 65ft. but most of the them were around 40-50ft.
I always got a kick out of free divers who would come down to visit me. I always offered them a hit off the ol' regulator but no one took me up on it. Probably for the best.
Thanks for the vid, what light do you have for your hand? Looking at getting one like it.
It's an Orca torch D560 and is 1000 lumens. I highly recommend it!
How deep do you go in lake washington?
Hello, From the marker buoy at this particular spot was 40m to the mud bottom so wasn't going deeper than 36m. There are deeper dives up to 50m or better if you dare going out in the boating lane :)
Always enjoy your videos! You rockin' a 5 or 7 mil suit most times?
Thank you! 7mm most of the time :)
What a awesome looking day! Great footage!
Thank you @Renssant-Freedive It's the best I've seen in 5 years :)
Did a sea lion play with your group? We had 20 people in the water and while we were snacking in the parking lot after, , watched a sea lion near a buoy that looked like the one in your video.
Yes a few but they didn't come in very close though :(
Were the noises coming from boat props?
Yes there is a Ferry near by and is annoying at times :)
awesome vis!
Sweet! Copy 50° what thickens of wetsuit 5 or 7?
I've been using mostly 7mm these days. In the summer depending on how deep you go you can use a 5mm wetsuit.
So many cool things under there! I don't see that many fish at Edgewater. Thank you for sharing!
You rock. Diver down
The waters of Puget Sound from Everett down to Olympia are also very murky. 6 to 8 feet of clear view is a s good as it gets sometimes. Been diving those waters for years!
Yep this is Mukilteo B dock :)
Awesome! Great footage and edit!
Eustachian tube equalization is such a habit, LOL. What's with the horse collar, weights or something new?
Neck weights have been around for a long time and are really good for freediving :)
@@skiveryfast I've only recently seen them in uses, most of my FD was pre 00'.
Hardcore
Vis is better than I thought it would be, is this near PA?
Mukilteo B dock :)
Hi there. I am looking at the fluid goggles but there aren’t many people out there to ask. I think your video is the latest made of the fluid goggles. What is your opinion of the goggles so far. Would you say they are worth the buy?
Yes they are awesome! Next level. If you want an advantage diving and all the benefits associated with the dive reflex buy them!
That is a long time to be submerged
What have you got for a lantern on the end of your line?
It's a chargeable Gobe dive torch..works perfectly and has never failed me even in 45 degree F water for hours. :)
Ah, cool. You're the only other person I've seen have a light at the end of the line. I did a homemade lantern that's been solid year round for a few years now.
Very nice
awwww so nice!
Whats the difference between the 990 and 1090 carbon fins from c4
The 990 is basically the same construction just shorter. This means the tip of the fin is less fragile. I maintain my L1090 blades after every session to keep the edge detuned of any burrs.
@@skiveryfast same power?
@@garrywagener4358 Not quite but more forgiving if you ever run out of steam :)
@@garrywagener4358 Not as much..close. Being shorter I would say they're a tad more maneuverable.
@@skiveryfast c4 pockets ok for wide feet?
Bro can I go free diving with you? I’m in Oregon too.
Mostly I'm diving in and around the greater Seattle area. :)
happy 4th ig?
How deep are you going?
65 feet was the deepest in this session
@@skiveryfast how deep are you typically going before you notice improvement in visibility? Have heard it's around 40ish feet
@@jarinjones3729 Yeah the vis typically opens up towards the last 10-20 feet depending on the day..some areas are better than others.
Wow. Thats extreme
is spearfiahing allowed?
It is allowed, but check the regulations in the area first :)
Nice vid, what is the rope for exactly?
Thanks! The rope is mostly used for safety and guide purposes, but can also help keep better track of the diver if there is ever a retrieval needed :(
How did you like these weights? they look like the neptonics pinch weight molds. I'm thinking about ordering a mold for myself.
I don't like to use them very much, but are good for traveling. They slip easy :)
'promosm' 😘
Good stuff! Hey do you still dive Edmonds / the NW at all?
Thank you! Yes I dive year round in theses waters. Today I dove this exact spot with a select crew :)
What depth is this dome at? I was going to dive it one day but decided to give the scuba divers space and explored the marina jetty instead!
17-20m. It can be tricky to find freediving; its in line with the entry stairs a bit past the pier.
Haven’t quite worked up the nerve to head inside that larger wreck yet
Yepper those Seals are so much fun when I see them..but yes the pontoon is a little sketchy so please take your time checking it out, no rush :)
Love diving this park, I’ve had seals come up and play around me right where you got in the water
I like the top down view of our lights as we explored!
Super cool!
Where are you at in this video? Looks a bit clearer than some you’ve posted. Still pretty murky.
Alki close to Saltys and yep there were a couple different layers clearer on surface and bottom.
The water was so clear 💙! Also special thanks to Bruce for literally moving boulders for the park
1st like!
What pier was this at? I wanna go give it a dive!
Mukilteo B Dock aka Edgewater beach park :)
Hey flipper. You rock
How long has skookum been there?
Not sure maybe a month possibly more?
@@skiveryfast Interesting.. Is this to the east of cove 2? Might need to dive this soon...
@@jmilesk West side right out in front of Saltys restaurant. You should be very careful since it's a fresh wreck with snags all over the place.
Great footage! Love the long selfie stick view!
Thank you! It's alot of fun, and what about that cloudy top layer then boom high vis :)
Looks relatively clear for the sound?
love the videos
Fun day of diving and great footage! Thanks for getting out!
I would love to get into Free Diving. I live in South King County; how do you suggest I get started? Is there a local organization?
Great! I recommend using Lighthouse scuba and talk to Andrew. He's an excelllent instructor :) lighthousediving.com/locations/seattle/
Is there any improvement going from conventional carbon fins( c4 300 fast ), to the new ones ?
Yes saving energy and lining up with your body centerline when freefalling vertical. The C4 L-1090 packs allot of power so go soft on the flex unless you deep spearfish.
