@@PersianKat206 Even in heavy rain, human eyes can *look* *through* the windshield and drive the car just fine. The cheap little FSD cameras and buggy software cannot accomplish that. And that is not going to change anytime soon.

@ well they are working on it. AI5 we are on FSD HW4 will likely be the solution Next gen hardware and cameras

@@DerekDavis213 There is lot of untapped potential in HW4 / Ai4. I am going to guess that with Texas Cotex Tesla will make AI4 unsupervised up until medium rain. I cannot drive unsupervised in driving rain and snow etc. HW3 Can be unsupervised in the Southern US only is my guess

I have been using 13.2.1 and love starting FSD while parked and it even parked at its destination once. Hope the parking is more consistent.

As an update The car tried using the carpool lane in the same area today I suspect this is now a mapping issue and not a FSD rain issue.

I read the coming soon as feature. I did feel that 12.5.6.4 was basically parking behind my neighbors car. Or if approaching from opposite direction would land it in the driveway.

I had i in the middle on earlier drives but the rear view mirror blocks the shot. any suggestion of placement.

We shall see what will happen with Ai5 that will drop in 6 ish months. It will likely have way more compute etc

@@PersianKat206 Of course it will have more compute power, that's the point of a hardware upgrade. But I doubt it will be in 6ish months. More likely 2026 or 2027. I say this because if Elon wants all cars on the road with FSD to work correctly, then Tesla would need to upgrade the hardware to all the vehicles, which is very expensive for them. I believe Elon discovered this after upgrading HW2.5 cars to HW3 and is why they changed the hardware physical design, so it wasn't compatible with JW3 cars. Then they didn't have to honor the free HW upgrade thing with the full purchase of FSD.

@@Resist4 well you are probably right Elon estimates are usually wrong so Q2 2025 probably means Q2 2026

@@Resist4Elon has stated if they can't get HW3 to unsupervised they will upgrade the HW3 fleet a new HW. Im guessing a transfer and a discount will likely be pushed to avoid the mess.

@@PersianKat206 Yeah, I know what Elon said, but he's lied before. Remember when he said the FSD would be free just that one time. Or when he said FSD would be full feature complete by the end of the year...many times already. Or when he said the cars would be an appreciating asset with FSD, yet cars with FSD traded into Tesla were low balled on the value. I just don't believe him anymore.

Since v12.5 tesla made touching the steering wheel optional

12.3.6 was the last version of FSD with the steering wheel NAG. there is an in cabin camera that monitors the diver to make sure they are paying attention.
