What are the Sacraments? Are they Biblical? Catholic Teaching Explained
Sacraments: what are these, and why are there seven of them? There are the obvious ones like baptism and marriage, but what is up with the other five? Are they mentioned in the bible or did the Catholic church just make them up? In this video, I’ll be discussing the seven sacraments what they are, whether they are in the bible, and what their purpose is for the faithful. Don't forget the like and subscribe if you enjoyed!

Well, that was a good video. But you should still marry my English teacher.
Priests in the Catholic Church can be married, in those parts of the Church outside of the Latin/Roman rite (For example Byzantine Catholic and Maronite Christian). also you have not yet put up your end screens. Forgot to add, well done, good video!
True. I guess I should have specified Roman Catholic. End screens fixed! Thanks!

Luke 1:46, 47 DRV says, “And Mary said: My soul doth magnify the Lord. And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.” If Mary was sinless, why was she in need of a Saviour? If “Brother” is really referring to “Bretheren” in the broad sense, why in Galatians 1:19 DRV does Paul differentiate James from all the other apostles by claiming him to be the bother of Jesus? If they were all bretheren, wouldn’t he just say he saw none of the apostles, saving James, and leaving it at that? But he differentiates James from the other apostles by claiming him as the brother of the Lord. “But other of the apostles I saw none, saving James the brother of the Lord.” (Galatians 1:19 DRV). Also, if brother really means bretheren, why doesn’t the Douay-Rheims Bible translate it that way? Why does it not say “Bretheren”, instead of “Brother”?
❤🌹
Mary is strongest in earth be cause she waching her son to suffer until death.and no one is like mary😊

Amazing work sister in Christ
Thank you!
This was a great video, I want to convert to catholicism but I still have questions about saintly Intercession, like why should we even do it? I understand why it is not wrong, but what reason do we have to pray and ask intercession from saints? When you mentioned Roman's 8:27 it talks about the holy spirit, not the saints, I really want to be a catholic and I'm almost fully convinced it is the church of christ, but this question is really bothering me.
That’s a great question, and I think this is something that shouldn’t prevent you from converting. It’s essentially optional, and the Church doesn’t require you to do it. But the saints see God face to face and have a very special relationship with Him since they already ran their race and showed by their life that they love Him and aligned their will to His. I like to think of it this way: what is more powerful: one persons prayers or two? Why wouldn’t you want more people praying to God for you? It’s like how you ask people on earth to pray for you. What’s the point of asking people to pray for you if you can just pray to God yourself? Because prayer is powerful and the more prayers the better! It’s just like getting more people on your case and more people bringing your prayers to God. As Christians, our role on earth is to bring as many people to heaven with us as possible, and that job doesn’t suddenly end when we die. The saints are still working with God to try and bring us to heaven. Just how God worked miracles through the saints when they were on earth, he continues to work miracles through their intercession in heaven. I think if you realize that Christian’s are still part of the church on earth, in purgatory, and in heaven it might make you feel more comfortable with asking for their intercession. I hope this helps!
@@southernbella8503 thank you for responding, I appreciate it but I got to a different conclusion, but first I'd want to tell you something, although the points you made sound nice, I am sorry to say but they don't make sense at all, when you said "the more prayers the better" what did you meant by that, it's not like we can "stack" prayers, and it's not like if we pray with more people our request would have a higher chance to be granted, God knows and fully hears each and every prayer we do, so I got to this conclusion: the reason we practice saintly intercession is not to "buff" our prayers, but because of the simple reason that it glorifies God, at the book of James we are told to pray for one another (James 5:16) and from what I understand the reason we are recommended to do this is because it unites us in prayer life, or in other words, it makes our way of worshipping God a social activity, and well... because the whole point of saintly intercession is to ask saints to pray for us, I believe that although at its basis saintly intercession could be seen as pointless (which is not), I believe that it glorifies God because as I said, it unites us in prayer life, and by that it could not only benefit our spiritual life, but it probably makes God even more proud of us, and by that could grant us more than just spiritual gifts.
Amen ❤. Blagosovljena ti medju zenama i blagosovljen plod utrobe tvoje Isus. Sveta majko Bozija moli ta bas sada i na casu nase smrti. Amen❤
Video on that prayer coming soon! 😁
Because Catholics believe the lie about the Roman Catholic church being the church which Christ is building, they then believe all the lies about Mary which they are told. If they could understand the things which Mary ACTUALLY did, they would have enough reason to thank God for her, without all the lies and made up nonsense.
I didnt think it was disgusting its just a point of change must happen quietly in order to take effect. Its not a real story, its fiction but i think the point was Lawrence allowed himself to be quiet of the reveal because he felt the church needed to progress.
I think that’s the point. The have the church “accidentally” progress because a man/woman was elected is disrespectful. People flock to the church because it’s different and refuses to change with the times. If the Church was to “progress” with the world, it would no longer be the bulwark of truth and just another modern institution.
@southernbella8503 again its a fictional story, obviously the conclave would never do this in real life, but in the case of this hypothetical scenario Martinez was looked upon by lawrence himself as the appropriate successor. Lawrence throughout the film is seen as a harbinger to the sanctity of the process. Which is why he kept alluding to himself as the "manager". He doesn't openly defy tedesco's traditional views instead he plants himself firmly behind bellini's, the more progressive candidate. I feel we can assume Lawrence had more progressive views. I felt Martinez was the right person for the job when he had his monoluge with the priests in the auditorium you could even see Lawrence in awe of what Martinez says. That was the selling point about how there was no one better for the successor than Martinez. The twist is he is intersex but before we knew that we judged Martinez by his words (the monologue in auditorium) and actions. It's a nice story of don't judge a book by it's cover. Just remember, it's only a movie, again i don't think something like this would slip by the actual conclave. Maybe the message of the movie is to be more open to the good of this world regardless of orientation, religion, or whatever background. I felt it was pro religion/church because it made the church look more open to an ever changing world than it probably is. I agree with you that it can't be so progressive it becomes what you refer to as a "modern institution" but it can't also be stuck in the dark ages, there has to be a middle ground like with everything in life.
I am open to the Marian Dogmas. It seems, to me anyway, that God finding a "role" for a woman in the salvation of his people makes sense. God created man and his role and women and their role and making Mary divine further highlights God's intentions for us. I grew up without a father. My mother was (and still is) the most important person in my life. It just seems like a really good argument, imho, for more "orderly" existence. It's a lot to think about. Bella, if I got anything wrong please correct me. Thanks 🙏
I’m so glad to hear you have an open heart! That is one of the most important things when it comes to being aligned with Jesus and being willing to change your life for Him. So Mary isn’t divine; she’s not a God. But she is perfect and never sinned, which is fitting for the person who is to carry and raise the Son of God. Mary is our adoptive Mother since we are all adoptive brothers and sisters of Jesus and one of Jesus’ last acts as he was dying on the cross was to give her to all humanity as our Mother, so we shouldn’t be afraid to ask her for her prayers and aid in staying close to Jesus and doing His Will on earth. She loves humanity and is constantly interceding for us!
What a wonderful post on such a great feast day. We see God as our Father, Jesus as our elder brother which makes Mary our mother too. Thus we are a family. A family of our parent/parents, A family of our own if we are married, and a family in faith. Cardinal Dolan did a homily on it yesterday 12/29/24 which is the Feast of The Holy Family day. You can find in the Mass for yesterday on the St. Patrick Cathedral YT page. 1A. Davidic Kingdom rules placed the mother of the king as queen not the wife or concubines (which they weren't supposed to have but did anyways). 1B. The queen held official role. To be an intercessor between the people and her son. We see this happen at the wedding feast at Cana. While she isn't raised to divinity she is given honor Catholic understanding is to treat scripture in a totality and se Mary in Revelation 11:19-12:1: Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple. There followed flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and a violent hailstorm. Two Signs in Heaven: the Woman and the Dragon. A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon beneath her feet, and a crown of twelve stars on her head.
I'm still new-ish to Christianity. My family has Protestant backgrounds. One side is non-denominational and the other is Lutheran but I didn't grow up going to church. Now that I've left my awful atheist-ish beliefs behind, I'm very interested in learning more about Catholicism. So I just wanted to say thanks for making this video. Gonna subscribe 😊
That is great to hear! Welcome to the faith! Being a true follower of Jesus is difficult and your life is going to have to look different from those around you, but there are so many joys that come from following Him, too! One thing about Catholicism that you need to be aware of is that from the outside, it can look very dry and that it has lots of “rule,” but once you start diving deeper into why she has this teaching and that teaching you’ll realize it’s because we have such a rich history and there is so much depth and beauty to the Church and that true freedom is having boundaries so that it’s easier to tend towards the good! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and subscribed (thank you!), and I’ll be praying for you! Fr Mike Schmitz, Catholic Truth, and Pints with Aquinas are amazing Catholic TH-cam channels if you want to check them out as well!
No.Catholics do NOT worship Saints. They for at times ask only for their INTERCESSON.
Exactly!
Someone in the comments mentioned..Was Anne..the Mother of GOD..without sin. Understand MARY was conceived without sin..due to the purity of Anne..and Joachim..her parents. Mary was..and is a PURE VESSEL..meant by GOD the FATHER to be born without original sin....and give Birth to her Baby Son..JESUS!
True. The church teaches that the Immaculate Conception of Mary was not strictly necessary but God chose to do it and it was fitting that God should dwell in a vessel never touched by sin.
She gave us the path to INTERCESSION. (asking her SON for spiritual things for US).and gave us the ROSARY. The Rosary comes with many PROMISES from Mary ..that people who scoff at those promises..would be fools to do so. Also to the nay sayers..what did you think it was like for MARY to watch what they did to her SON..the SON she loved above all. The is why we REVERE Mary. Look up the Rosary..and look at the promises of it. IT is POWERFUL.
True. I think Protestants wrongly view Catholics as going overboard in our devotion to Mary, so they make the mistake of going too far in the opposite direction and disrespect and mock her. I can’t imagine a Son who wouldn’t be appalled at such treatment to His Mother.
Men especially need to teach their daughter and son can learn from sister
Catholics r not Christian 😂
Catholics are the original Christians. We were called Christians before Protestants even existed.
@ never Christian 😂 always will be catholic! “hail catholic mary” prayed to a dead woman at least 100x’s in one session
An ewtn interview with Fr. Mitch Pacwa SJ with some priests that joined the ordinariate th-cam.com/video/_7L784RJD9Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=LDH8S_gIc31v7ibV
I urge all of you to come out of that church wrong teachings rampant sexual immorality behind closed doors , worshipping Mary, priest's setting themselves up as God forgiving people of their sins, wearing black clothes which is symbolic of evil , priest's being called Father when the bible teaches not to. You're worshipping the church instead of God, think about it .
to honor the tradition of sacrifice and preparation I would encourage doing for others during the days leading up to Christmas, buying gifts, joining festivities, serving the community. Then after Christmas focussing on more introspective or self - centered practices after. Kind of like a pregnant mother giving birth, she prepares for the baby before it arrives and then after its arrival begins the nurturing and bonding practices that make the relationship with her child more sacred and special.
That’s a really interesting analogy!
Merry Christmas!!!!
Same to you!
In fact, speaking of decorating, I do not decorate/tree-doesn't-go-up until Christmas Eve. Every Catholic differs on this I'm sure.
That’s awesome! I think that is definitely more in line with the Church calendar year!
But what about Mary's mother? Did she have the original sin?
St Anne did, but God sanctified Mary from the moment of her conception. Since Mary isn’t God, her mother’s womb did not need to be sanctified. Like how the Ark of the Covenant was covered with gold inside and out since it was going to contain God, the Lord saw fit to cleanse the womb of Mary as it housed the Son of God. The Immaculate Conception was a grace and wasn’t strictly necessary but God chose to bless Mary as it is fitting and fulfills the old testament. Good question!
Romans 8:26 the holyspirit helps us in our weakness.we do not know what we should pray for,but the spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.mary cannot intercede for anyone only the spirit of God.he knows the mind of God and prays to us according yo the will of God.please note the holyspirit no mary.know the truth it will set you free

This video is just a rationalization of non-biblical wrong prayer. I'll stick with the Bible, and not the Roman Catholic fake gospel. Prayers of dead people are necromancy, and just plain wrong.
I’m so sorry that is what you got from the video, but I’ll be praying for you that you will have a heart open to the truth of Christ and His Church.

This is a beautiful Eucharistic hymn, by the founder of the ordinariate. It sounds like it’s right out of medieval times th-cam.com/video/zASNI5L15n4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=N-xqOsvUjlmoslxe
It is beautiful! Thank you!
@ you’re welcome, Have you ever considered becoming a nun?
I think those three mystic women were either just looking for attention where they might’ve been psychotic. Jesus was born in Nazareth. The only reason the nativity stories place the birth in Bethlehem is because in the old testament it was prophesied that the Messiah would be born in the same town that King David was from. So the writers of the New Testament had to make sure they were matching prophecy and made up that story about the trip to Bethlehem. It’s a great story, but it’s total fiction. And they misinterpreted the Hebrew word “Messiah.” It just means “great leader.” They also thought the Hebrew word.for “young woman” meant “virgin.” So that’s where that story came from. Where did you go to college?
There is so much going on in your comment that we’ll just have to agree to disagree on this. Merry Christmas, and thanks for watching!
Merry and blessed Christmas to everyone!

Jesus had brothers and god Jesus Holy Spirit know now what we think of that , Jesus came to the earth Mary is just one lucky person. And Jesus took all sin of male and female because he resisted it all
I agree that Mary is indeed very favored as she says “all generations will call me blessed.” Jesus did redeem Mary from sin, just before she was conceived.
@ he redeemed everyone from sin
@@southernbella8503 are you redeemed of sin ?
Well that first part is an ancient heresy (ruled that way by CC/EC/OC) about Mary having kids.
Mary is full of grace because Jesus Christ is there. Nothing about her. Mary was born to sin. As all humans are

Yes they do sadly 😢😢😢😢
If anyone worships idols, I can tell you right now, they’re most definitely not Catholic. 👍🏻
@ if you pray to Mary or her statue then you pray to idols and the dead 💀
You’re beautiful, are you single
It's confusing or just hard to choose because we put our tree up dec 1 so we could put Jesse tree ornaments on it. Those are the only ornaments on our tree though and we will put the christmasy ones and the star on it Christmas eve to prepare for Jesus. We've also been listening to Christmas music. But, we did come from a protestant background so we tend to do things a bit differently
Those are awesome ideas! I know, it’s hard. I’ve been Catholic all my life and I still find it hard to hold off celebrating Christmas. I think there’s probably lot than one way to do it. Thanks for watching!
Do you honestly believe Jesus could have been contaminated by Mary’s or anyone else’s sin?? You must have a very low opinion of Christ if you think so!? Mary called God, her Saviour (Luke 1;47), only sinners need a Saviour, as a sinner, Mary knew she needed one. One question catholics never answer…………..what difference would it have made to the death and resurrection of Jesus if Mary did have other children or not?? Why do you say the birth of Jesus was “painless”, where did you get that from!? Also, as sex is a gift from God, it would have been pretty rough on Joseph if he couldn’t even have sex with his own wife, after Jesus was born. Catholics need to stop putting so much time into Mary worship, and that is what it is, I know, I was a Catholic once. I have seen the carrying of statues of Mary, with hundreds of people bowing down to it and kissing the feet, this behaviour is forbidden in scripture. Yes, generations will and do call Mary blessed, and rightly so, she carried Jesus for 9 months but being blessed is not an excuse for thousands of people to worship her!!
Sorry, but Moses was not assumed into heaven. It was Enoch.
Not explicitly, but there are sources outside the Bible that say he was assumed into heaven after his death. Elijah, Enoch and Moses were all possible my assumed into heaven. aleteia.org/2022/08/15/who-in-the-bible-was-assumed-into-heaven

Welcome from Belgium! I get what you are saying, but America can’t effectively help the rest of the world if our own country is dying. Similar to Christ’s parable of the splinter and plank in the eye, America should worry about fixing our one internal issues so we are better able to help the rest of the world. While that may seem selfish, patriotism is a virtue and there is nothing wrong with wanting to help and improve the people of one’s own country before helping those of another. Once we fix our isn’t issues, we’ll be much better equipped to help other countries! Thank you for watching!

An ordinariate hymn, which is basically Gregorian chant in English, very soothing th-cam.com/video/CyjWEuwiVMk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=x_8ETH3bEnNjZd_R
Beautiful! I learned chant at a summer camp in high school, and I love that the English hymn is notated the same way chant is. Thank you!
@ you’re welcome, Have you ever been to a Byzantine mass? I did once it was beautiful, unlike the Latin rite, they haven’t changed much over the centuries
Since you like the Latin mass, you’ll probably like this mass which is similar th-cam.com/video/Qb46L8ysYsI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BLldnNpL1wnqK1om
Thank you!! It looks very similar to the TLM and reverent!
@ you’re welcome, that parish was the 1st in North America to join the ordinariate, it’s in Baltimore Maryland, it used to be an Episcopal church prior to that. Some of them do offer a novus ordo as well, it seems like the divine worship missal, is the way the novus ordo should have been done.
Actually my mistake that’s the ordinariate cathedral in Houston texas. I’m so used to watching masses from their Baltimore church. They have a North American ordinariate, a UK one & one that covers Australia & New Zealand. The St. Peter one covers the USA & Canada. They have their own bishop, who still answers to the pope and is in union with the usccb
To answer the title of the video: Only Catholics who do not have a strong, personal relationship with Jesus.
That’s sad that that is what you took from the video. Did you even watch it?
@southernbella8503 Yes, I watched the video. However, it always comes down to who a follower of Christ is immersed in. The Gospels, as well as the rest of the New Testament, constantly urge the followers of Jesus to keep their eyes fixed on Him, the Author and Finisher of their faith. A heavenly angel of God told the Apostle John to "Get up. Worship God." If this perfect angel saw it as erroneous to bow before him, how much more those who were less perfect (being humans at one time) should declare the same?
Thank you for your advice , Great points for us practicing catholics , May God bless you 🙏
You’re welcome! And thank you for watching!
