Chopin Nocturne Op.20 in C Sharp minor-Yundi Li
As a Chinese pianist, Li Yundi is most well known for being the youngest pianist to win the International Frédéric Chopin Piano Competition, in 2000, at the age of 18.

In bar 8 the left hand is a D sharp and the pianist here plays F sharp. Check out the autograph score.
And the G sharp in the penultimate bar isn’t played again. It’s joined on to the two previous bars G# please look at scores properly.
He ignores 6 times the composer's intentions in the first 4 bars
Actually. In the autograph score which can be found online with a quick google, and was only published after his death so one can only accept what he wrote….. it’s not even written properly. Have you seen the score?
Most annoyingly is bar 8 and the D# which many play incorrectly, as here, as an F#.
This is such a difficult piece for me because...althougth I can play the 'notes' just fine....when I PLAY THE MUSIC, the sound, the feel, the soul of this piece, I get emotional, and get lost almost in the motifs, the phrasing, the dynamics. It makes me cry sometimes. Easy to play the notes mostly - hard to choke through the emotions of this piece when you make it music, not button pushing.
Isnt this supposed to be lento for the common time quarter beats?
search "Cat gets emotional listening to classical music", you won't be dissapointed
Whenever im sad or feel lonely i listen to Chopin then i am more sad and lonely....
I'd love to fall asleep in this beautiful piece of music. Love the way he plays.
Mr Lee, your interpretation is the best.
Excellent performance
😊
The greatest ❤
FOARTE FRUMOS MULTUMESC !
Przepiękne! Brawo!
My second favorite nocturne, after op.9 no.1. Interpreters do not matter!;)

0:32 I love everything about this performance, except this part - why did Yundi Li change the bass note to F sharp from D sharp? It changes the whole harmony.
I *think* it’s supposed to be D sharp? At least that’s what it says both in the video and in my copy of the music. Are you talking about the first bass note in measure 8?
@@thelovelightliveventure I know it’s supposed to be D sharp. That’s what I said.
So sad and so beatifull.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love this piece! Wonderfully performed :) 👍
Sopen nuktrurno u c molu
Beautiful
This is Nocturn C minor Op. 48 not 20. There is no opus 20 in Chopin Nocturns !!
Really? Interesting. In my copy of the music it just says Nocturne Op. Post. I also think that Op. 48 is another piece.
I love this so much...
0:55 This is rhythmically wrong
la pullina l'ha fatto
Exquisite ❤

Dziękuję za piękną wykonanie...
wow! what a beautiful rendition!
Yundi is best !
So much better than Lang Lang's rendition

Suonato in modo SUBLIME!
1:24 and 1:36 remind of Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2
Sometimes I just like to read the comments and listen to the piece. It’s amazing listening to it through everyone interpretations
Same here exactly what I’m doing en 😊😂
Potrei avere questo spartito? antonelloilacqua@libero.it

Beautifully translated. Thank you for not rushing it...
Chapeau 👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹💐💐💐
All of entirety might be like a singular song.
The three I prefer are better. Nice techniques, however.
lol
