I agree i think the second Corpse Explosion was too much, and the three elite path was just a bit too dangerous for us. I’m not very used to Prismatic Shard decks, it makes things very strange and unique lol but yeah the curses really set us back too hahaha hopefully I can dial it in soon and get off The Defect for a bit! D:

He's definitely the most FLEXIBLE character as far as ways you can build him, we've had some really fun and whacky builds with them BUT yeah man they can be such a pain.. Just as a heads up since I've seen you mention it in a few episodes, you can actually farm for Lucky Bosses/Alpha pals. Hopefully this won't really be considered a spoiler, but the Nature Preserve Islands hold a good number of the Alpha/Boss Pals as regular spawns, and can be farmed/reset for Lucky hunting! It's how I've gotten a few of mine like Azurobe, Penking, Bushi, and others. It's definitely not easy, and short of getting super lucky can be time consuming, but they can be really strong options if you hit any kind of roadblock later in the game!
THIS IS HUGE NEWS! I knew about the Nature Preserve Islands having things like Grizzbolts or Penkings and what not and I figured they COULD be shiny but I never really knew and farmed it to verify and theres like NO information about shinies in this game lol.. So I just have to rely on my own tests and us as a community like this so seriously THANK YOU so much for your comment and support, it means more than you know. Fuck the defect 🤭. Just hit A20, I find it to be the most inconsistent character. Great common cards tho! I actually think capacitor is a pretty shitty card, but with biased cognition, probably less so. Excited to see more!

I think I’d have to agree with you, when the stars align every now and then it feels good but generally speaking it’s the most inconsistent but also the one that can be played the most ways so in that way I guess I see where the inconsistency comes from.. I’ve had some amazing Capacitor runs with the Frozen Core relic and focus scaling to just become this passive orb god but as i said before it feels great when those pieces fall together but it’s really hard to force with this guy yeah :/ thanks so much for your comment and support brother! It's really rare these days to see Ni No Kuni on the internet, I hope you're enjoying it! Here's a tip you may not yet know, each familiar belongs to a genus, and each character has 3 favorites. For example, one of Oliver's favorites is the genus "Milites". Which both Puss in Boats and Dynamite (the evolved form of the starter familiar) belong to. While not required, giving each character in your party their favorite familiar will give that familiar a flat 10% increase to ALL stats. Something else, you mentioned in the description doing "a few fights out at sea" to gain xp. If you head to "Ugly Duckling Isle", North of the Summerlands, you'll ocassionally find a familiar called the "Toko". Kill or capture it and you'll get a metric TON of xp. ~ Happy New Year! ~
YOU ARE A GOD SEND! These tips are so incredibly huge, thank you so much friend! I had NO idea each character had a prefered familiar type, and I was grinding in Hamelin and out at sea trying to catch some newly metamorphed familiars up thinking this was the best way but I'll definitely have to check out that spot you're talking about! A lot of the episodes I have on my channel are pre-recorded a few weeks in advance so I can stay on schedule with school and work and posting videos consistently on a schedule so the next few sessions I won't have this information because most of those videos are already recorded BUT when I do get to use this information in the video I will for sure shout you out for this hahaha thank you so much for both the advice, kind words and the support! I really want to play Visions of Mana soon after this! I loved Secrets of Mana growing up. I was such a big JRPG nerd as a kid. Games like Chrono Trigger, Golden Sun, Final Fantasy IX, and Dark Cloud are iconic to my childhood and ones that will be coming to the channel FOR SURE in the near future! I enjoyed classic sod but ofc it was sloooooow getting anywhere and levelling. But it has a better feel than retail.
I'm someone who grew up on old school MMO's and enjoy that slowed down pace personally! I love slowly crawling through a world and connecting to my character over a month or two or even three if thats what it takes! Seeing the sights, learning about the world slowly as I crawl through it so I can appreciate it more! But I do also understand time restraints and the fact that classic can be VERY slow yeah.. Are you still playing now or did you stop after SOD?
@@Bael_TV I went back to retail which has more going on but feels so grindy. Its not so immersive. Somewhere in between the two would be the sweet spot 🙂 imo. Been playing since 2007 had a break for 4 years then came back for SoD due to boredom with tv etc

Playing this now on gamepass. Best version in my opinion. Their best game next to ME3. Too bad the company has gone down the toilet. I'm looking forward to exodus though (Archetype Entertainment). Anytime a gaming company destroys itself, i tend to follow the devs that got fired or left. Then you'll find good games.
I'm taking a small break as I made it to the fade. Not my favorite. I've had to restart the game four times lol. My ol 360 tanked. Emulators were unforgiving. Gamepass for the win. Which is almost never the case lol.
Its incredibly sad how a game from 2009 has better writing, is more engaging and holds my attention better than something that was released 15 years after it by that same company. Modern gaming has become overpopulated with money hungry soulless corporations and so many gamers haven't even played some of the best classics we have like Dragon Age Origins so.. I'm glad to see another gamer with fine taste who doesn't appreciate the tacky and talentless stuff that MOST of the triple A studios are pumping out these days. Hahaha its actually very complex! Replaying it again for the first time in YEARS, I was surprised with my younger self that I somehow made sense of it all.. I had a deck on one run that was all poison cards and I was able to do like 100 dmg in one turn. Now, I pretty much only use poison cards with this character. I've only been playing for like two weeks though so I'm def not an expert.

At first it was my least favorite, but after enough runs on the little robot they’re easily one of my favorites! The Watcher is insanely OP but she works very differently to the other characters, she either kills you in one to two hits or she dies in one to two hits hahaha. Fun fact about shuriken: if you use whirlwind with 0 mana it still counts as an attack, so if you've used two strikes, a defend and then whirlwind with 0, you'll still get the benefits of shuriken.

I played a long time ago, I'm only just coming back and giving myself the challenge to make it to Ascension 20 with each character so I have SOME experience in this game specifically, and I play games like Magic The Gathering so I'm familiar with card games, but mostly I just figure it out here as we go and have fun! I feel like Boss Swap is almost never worth it on silent. Ring of the snake is just too good to give up on a character that starts as weak as the silent. Pretty good run despite the swap.
