Earthstars (1985)
A young girl's dreams at Christmas time come tales of faraway lands and strange creatures, of three weary travelers and the bright light which they follow. The stories carry her away into the sparkling night on a magical journey that not only reveals the hidden star shapes of nature but also leads her to the mysterious Star of Bethlehem. Directed by David Gladwell Requiem for a Village (1975) and Memoirs of a Survivor (1981)

I never thought of Annette Crosbie in a salacious way before, but I have to admit that her knowing flirting with Mr Cotgrove at the end was rather sensuous and coquettish! I guess that that demonstrates the quality (and power) of a good actor. Thanks again for posting.
It's good to see that some women (Dorothy) were still wearing 'proper' nylon stockings in the 70s (i.e. Fully-Fashioned and Reinforced Heel & Toe styles made from non-stretch nylon). Nylons lost popularity and sales significantly after the introduction of Lycra in 1958 and with the advent of the mini-skirt in the '60s, which encouraged most women to switch to the convenience (and modesty) of mixed-fibre tights/pantyhose.
A bit over the top but, intriguing
Merry Christmas. Thank you for uploading these. Would you mind terribly putting all the episodes you have of this series into one playlist?
I was watching this video in my room when there came a loud and impatient knocking on my door. Imagine my surprise when, upon opening the door, I came face to ruddy, fuming face with my landlady! "Didn't I tell you: no pets, no girls, no smoking, no hanky-panky, and definitely NO BABIES," she exclaimed?! After I explained that the crying came not from a baby in my room but from a Thames Television production of mid-'70s TV drama broadcast on the telly, she calmed down and came to her senses. Oh, how we chortled and tittered afterwards!
if the sound of a baby crying at 110 decibels were broadcast daily to teenage schoolkids, I reckon the population would be half of what it is now!
Clive has to get out of his chair in order to adjust the volume of the TV! Couldn't he find the remote?! Maybe we would all be less obese these days if we had to get up off the sofa every time we wanted to change channel or the volume!
I'd like to see more of Geraldine Moffat. Her performance made me miss flesh-colored lipstick.
❤
Thank you so much--and Merry Christmas! 🎄🎄❄❄❤❤
I can just about remember these good to see these are still shown on here (TH-cam) nearly 50 years on so much retro programmes aren't shown anymore on teresstial television, still a nice example of one. It looks like was first shown/made in 1976 instead of 1977. Excelsior! 🧓👴👵🚹🚺🚻
Have look but have been of the nework connection, to disturb the people not to look the movies. Prople are looking the movie but when the internet dirty worker off the network connection, it make people to fed up to look the movie on the internet. So people loves playing games on the internet but to look the movie, there'll only network connection, playing games there is no network connection. If anything wrong here is not people wrongs, the bloody bastard network workers, has made to be wrong while looking this movie. Okay. ❤.

Delightful - analogous to a long rally at Wimbledon, perhaps!

Hooray! Thank you for those wonderful childhood memories. That was an example of good clean fun that must have inspired thousands of young minds. It proved that a TV series needed nothing more than a gripping story.
I watched this as a six year old at Christmas 85. Never thought I'd see it again. Thank you!
God that was dismal.
Stella’s sister Looks like Joey Ramone. And Stella’s accent is as authentic as it can be… is it an Essex accent?
What a stunningly handsome woman was Ann Lynn (Jean). How come I've only just discovered her? But what an introduction! Mr Newley was a lucky man.
Never saw this before - a bit of a latter day Alice, or even a Wizard of Oz adventure - very heartwarming and of course quite true.
Indeed, you nailed its vibe completely
James is such a cad.... psychopath
OMG! Major D , you've done it! I have always wanted to see this. Can't wait. You're brilliant. We poorJan disciples are forever grateful to you.

Great acting and intelligent, mature scripts. Nothing like this made for TV now.
The mother was Reginald Perrin's wife, the father.. I know his face but can't place him.. and the dashing Nigel Havers.. always dashing
The great Alfie Bass.. loved seeing him in comedies as a kid
I'm sure Sylvia Kay (Dorothy) was Jan Francis' mum in Just Good Friends?
Can't wait for this to air. You have some great old favourites. Thank you.
Great stuff🎉
Excellent🎉
Brilliant gem here! I’ve only known Alan Clarke’s work from Scum, Made in Britain, Elephant, and The Firm. Seeing his early work here is great!
BRAVA!
Lovely film! I was 15 when this came out and wouldn’t have watched it but as a nostalgic 54 year old now I found it quite enchanting
Rediffusion. Oh my gosh, that takes me back as a child. Three TV stations only but you could click the TV control to the radio as well.
