Hey everyone! My name is David, people call me DH. I am a route developer in Trainz 2019. I make fictional routes and model railroads as content for the game. Some are free and some you need to purchase. My expertise in route building is creating an operating scheme for those who find interest in operating the railroad with a purpose. These operating sessions add hundreds of hours of playtime to the routes I make and the experience is never the same from one session to the next! I have used such tools as JMRI, car cards, spreadsheets, car tags, and other ideas for operating. I have used tried and true methods and developed my own. Hi everyone!
Join today as we operate the Fulton turn and switch Fulton itself! This is our first run into town since the scenery was updated.
Fulton is small town on the Coxton Sub about 17 miles north of the Mississippi River, with a few spots for loading cars and two small customers to switch. Trains working Fulton originate in Biliary and/or Shifnal.

Probably best to shove rolling stock for the bridge repair vs. pulling. I say this because if your loco is on the head you can't perform a runaround since there isn't a turnout. The last one of those is in Ela. The other thing is you can set the exchange time to something other than 6 am. I have mine set for 5 am. Gotta get that early worm, because time waits for no one.

I'm pretty sure you can use payware routes for multiplayer, but not sure about multiplayer surveyor
I'll be honest, most of those local covered hopper loaders they load 1 car release the handbrakes and that goes downhill. Just think about adding a small grade in that area

I will be honest. When this is released I will replace all the TRS2004 -Trs2009 assets to better looking newer assets. IE power lines, cars, traffic.
Don’t blame you at all honestly! If you have some suggestions that you know of that are on the download station, I’d be happy to do what I can before release. As a minimum, in subsequent updates also. Always welcome your advice.
What do you do with the new sounds once they are downloaded?
Once installed, it auto updates and replaces the core sounds. so coupler slack, switch crossings, wheel clack, etc. It’s as easy as dragging and dropping and then uninstalling if you don’t like it. I think it technically “obsoletes” the original base sounds.

Your statement of growth in Trainz is something I can relate to. A lot of my changes recently are based on results I get from the AI. I needed a passenger train to take the western diverge leaving a station to go to another, but it always went straight. Adding a track marker and programming it into the session never corrected it either. Even changing the interlock priority order didn't help. My solution removing the South to West diverge, and honestly I realized that track was just redundant anyway (I had 4 mains that paralleled the flat sort classification yard that diverged into 2 at the south end of the yard.) One thing I wish Trainz had was a car tagging system. It is so tedious to have to rename every car manually and add it's destination. Run8 and Railroader have such a system and it's stellar. I think what is on the DLS is very outdated and broken as a rule set. When I check the logs I have noticed a lot of my lag comes from assets that have excessive polygons. Realistic trees (especially the ones that remove leaves in the winter months) contribute to that. Smoke particles really tank my fps. It's funny I can run Railroader at 4K with very little issue and I build my computer over 10 years ago. Trainz barely handles 1080. I bet if N3V switched to the Unreal 5 engine (and ditch their proprietary engine) Trainz would be outstanding in performance.

Such a broken ass trash system, I did a timetable set up following the official guide/release video, go to check all of the stops on the passenger cars with 'copy from timetable'. Passengers will start to board and then ill hover over another car and all of the passengers will IMMEDIATELY disembark the train and uncheck all of the stops.
Watching 400 shove back into that cut with air on for 7 minutes was painful lol

Man I am running into some interesting glitches with this new update for Trainz 22. I have track that trains and turnouts no longer connect to (JR Dk Grey Dirty, cr45 turnouts along with the ones made by Norfolksouthern37). To be honest there's not a lot of track that has a good visual appearance and good LODs in TRS 22. Too much of the old stuff is bundled and doesn't look right in my book. I am glad that N3V have not removed the Bulk Asset Update/Replace function in Classic Surveyor because I'd be screwed having to replace real scale miles and miles of track manually. Though not thrilled that S20 for standalone TRS22 PE was left out of that tool and placed behind a paywall for subs only (a very dumb move considering they gave the cow away before Update: So now the track works. I guess redownloading from the DLS corrected the issue.🤦♂
Did I see that you have some staging below the actual layout baseboard? Have you done a video on how to accomplish that? Is the staging yard below just “floating” with some horizontal extendable strip color beneath it?
I do have some down there! Good eyes. Making a video over that is actually a good idea as I did it all the wrong ways lol. I just used a retaining wall spline with a strip of ballast to lie under the tracks. Then used my typical wall to be the edge of the table.
Is this route going to be for sale or free on Trainz download station in the future?
Thanks for asking! If I sell it, it’ll just be like $5-10 bucks. This one I won’t put on download station because it’s has a decent amount of third party assets from trainz forge and jointed rail. I’ll release it with a full session with car tagger and some documents to help people operate it!
I had wanted to mention the zoomed in issue in the original video, but forgot. Glad you were able to fix and reupload, because this tool interesting to use in combination with Trainz.

I liked the idea of a time table, but unless you have massive gaps at stops, you're basically forced to run in real time, when you finish all your freight stuff, if your pax trains are still running then you just have to wait.
I get what you’re saying, and yea, it wouldn’t make sense to end the day while a pax train is still running, but that isn’t much different than before the timetable days. For me personally, if I think I’ll be done with all my switching before the last pax train, I just don’t run the pax train lol

@reefingmedic7537 in its natural form, it’s just a sandbox for you to build whatever world you want, and then run trains on it. I build routes (models and full length) and use third party software to route cars and give purpose so it stays interesting.
@@reefingmedic7537 You can also program AI drivers to run the rails for you, then kick back, and watch all the trains go by. That's what I loved to do. :)
I also imagine the obs car is a control cab. Anyone who complains can fund a new wye at Sylva.😄

@bakist5540 Apparently there wasn't one in real life and they were sticking fairly close to the historical layout.
I use three locos for my passenger service with, two out on the line and one dillsboro being turned, coaled and watered. With this I can keep two sets of passenger cars moving almost constantly.

I watched Adam’s video, but I cannot figure out to get the train to come back. It runs from Sylva and each stop to Bryson. I would love a simple how to on 1 train back and forth as automated as possible. Thanks!
I do believe you need to go to Crew on the Company Settings tab and change the assigned route from West to East and back when it reaches each end; at least that works for me.

Yes, this is correct, it’s affected by changing the crew assignment to the new timetabled train. Then you can go to the passenger cars, select copy from timetable in the passenger assignment window, and then the train won’t move until the timetable tells it to! It’s well done.
It's great to see another Coxton Sub update, it's looking very good! Even though N3V are looking at getting rid of TurfFX, surely they can't just get rid of it completely because lots of N3V's other payware routes have TurfFX and it would break them (unless they are updated by using an easy way to update TurfFX to Clutter). I think TurfFX looks good, and you've done a great job using it. Thank you for the Coxton Sub update :)

Very cool route. Definitely a labor of love for the amount of detail you have added. It is the most tedious part of Trainz is what detail you want (besides naming objects), finding things that look good from the DLS and not getting overwhelmed as the project grows. Routes can get away from a builder as they grow especially if your route is in real scale (because kiddies Trainz is true 1:1 in that mode). I used to use TurfFX, but I found that it would spread to areas that didn't have a baseboard. How that is a thing I have no idea since nothing else can be built over the void, and like you pointed out it's going away. Plus Trainz is poorly optimized (my GPU revs the fans to full speed due to this issue) an it is known to run computer very hot. TurfFX compounds that problem and it can severely lag computers (about as bad as Cities: Skylines 2 does). My only issue now is the stupid session menu (for driver commands and AI) that is now forever stuck in full screen, and there is no fix available for the standalone TRS22 PE that I own (Plus got it though, which is a middle finger to people like me). I still love building my routes and now having spent over 1100 hours in Surveyor 2.0 only since Sept 2024 the addiction only grows LOL.
lol yes the addiction grows very fast! I really enjoy trainz, but it still has room for improvement, and I’m going the devs continue doing that! This route has really grown as I have. I’ve rebuilt it several times lol
@@dhtrainz4798 I nuked my original map because it got too big too fast (working in real scale does that), and it was essentially my training ground. I don't get attached to my routes, because I always have more ideas. As for improvements for Trainz, it seems only Plus users get those over those of us who bought this game on Steam. Probably have to wait until Trainz 26 (if this game is built in 4 year cycles). N3V needs to get rid of their proprietary game builder and actually go with Unreal 5. That has the legacy of being around since the 90s, and games built around it look incredible (Starship Simulator is a prime example).

Where had you heard that Turnf-FX was removed from Trainz+? I can't find anything related to an announcement by N3V, but I will say the game is already poorly optimized so adding any of the TFX stuff can tank even the most powerful gaming systems. Too bad N3V is all in fort the subscription model vs. the standalone that needs a lot of work. Railroader is a stellar sim which I was gifted, and t's one I have watched guys like Squirrel play for a couple of years. I'm still learning the ropes, and though it is still EA, those guys over there are making it even better.
Yes I agree, railroader is too material. Cant get enough of it! About the turfx. Shenanigans, I feel like I read it on a N3V newsletter that it had become unsupported. Maybe I misread. I know it’s eventually going away but I could have inferred something that is untrue. That’s why there was some genuine doubt in the video when I brought it up lol.
@@dhtrainz4798 It is taxing on hardware. I just got a new GPU, and Trainz redlines it all the time. Poorly optimized. I can play Railroader at 4K with no issues. Trainz has to be in 1080.

WOW long way around putting mods on a game. They should learn from farm sim by just putting a folder that says mods and then downloading the mods into that folder. A lot easier

Either built in or in the download station. If it’s the searchlight signals, they are built in. Look for “jr sl” the safetran signals are on the download station.
Where do you even get the interchange 2 interchange mod?

Stream, sadly. The game runs very smoothly but my internet has been weak the last couple of months.
