Greetings & Thanks for your interest in our channel! Here, we will feature our ventures in rural living. We live on the southern coast of Oregon, more than 3 hours away from a major city or airport. We are developing a long-term homestead engineered around self reliance and hope to celebrate many adventures along the way. We hope you join us on the journey!

In this video, I show you step-by-step how I change the oil in our 2013 BMW X5 with the diesel engine. Really enjoyed it!
We are literally going to be in New Braunfels, TX in a few weeks!! Thank you for showing us the area. Nice to get a preview. When are you guys going to be back to that area?- Jim & Michelle
It’s a cool town with easy access to the hill country. Lisa & I will be back there end of year. Have fun and safe travels!
@@rurallivingwithtyandlisa Safe travels to you too.
We have not stayed at a casino yet. We have stayed at a Cabala's. We hope to attend the Quartzsite Tent show this coming winter. Glad you arrived safely! - Michelle
Do the other brands require maintence every 20-30 hrs? That seems very often.
Good luck heading to TX. Hope you’re able to post some updates, even if they’re brief. I’ve followed you since the beginning & really enjoy/appreciate your work.
Thank you Clyde!
Does the unit need to be next to the camera to pair maybe?
I will try that… Thanks!!
It's the first time we've heard about flea and tick collars being used for pest control - fascinating! We've been fans of yours and Lisa's for a few weeks now and really enjoy your content. We also adore your homestead in the pacific. I've even told my husband that we must visit Oregon next year! Thank you for sharing. Safe travels to Texas! Seiry
Thank you Seiry!
I have never heard of the using the flea and tick collars as pest control, Good to know! I don't know if you watch our channel, but recently Jim has done videos on back up cameras and a modification for the return air vents for the AC in on our Airstream. You might want to check those out? We chose to domicile in SD. Prayers for safe travels to Texas! 🙏- Michelle
Thank you Michelle! I will definitely check that out!
@@rurallivingwithtyandlisa Great! We will be in TX for some of November visiting family and such. :)
Nice. Add a recessed piece in the back under the latches and on the side therefore nothing will fall behind it. Secondly, run a cord or outlet from behind the cabinet to the top or underneath for additional power for computer or appliances. Use a roundover bit to soften that front edge.
Great ideas! I’ll employ all of them- thanks!
Very interesting to watch!
Thank you for watching!
The worst video ever ....what exactly was the point of the vid? You certainly did not show anything
Sitka spruce trees grow very fast.
Indeed!
How tall is your build from the peak of the roof to the bottom of the base?
So its been a year. How is it doing. I'm in the market for the same setup
Positively flawless… The Branson has been perfect for our small homestead property… no problem issues at all. And, pretty dang easy to maintain👍🏻
Nice got the same 2013 35d great Car
110.000 milles
It really is a great sled… engine’s just breaking-in at 110👍🏻
Hi Ty! I love your sheds and am looking at building a similar style shop; have you had any issues with condensation? Wonder if I should put underlayment under deck boards and same with roof? Thanks
Howdy! I haven't had any condensation issues...surprisingly. I'm on the coast, so it's pretty humid- but so far no issues in the building. For a more robust utility building, I would generally recommend always installing underlayment
@@tysmith2445 Awesome, thank you for the reply. I am also in a similar climate in Homer, Alaska. That is good to know
What was that sandwich looked good
That was the most delicious “Croque Madame” sandwich… search recipe online… it’s crazy good!
@@rurallivingwithtyandlisaI will see if the wife can make on thanks
Love your channel we’ve been a big fan for the whole time. Where might I find information about your Homestead for sale?

Outstanding looking smash burgers! Congrats on your upgrade to General Class too! I hope to hear you on HF soon.
Congrats on your ham license!!! I've been a ham since 1991 and have found it to be a very rewarding hobby. Maybe I will catch you on your SOTA or POTA activation sometime soon. 🙂
Many thanks, Robert! Looking forward it!

Welcome to Ham Radio Ty! I have that 891 rig in my truck and love it!! Look at the ATAS-120A antenna, it works great.... 73 K7LZZ
Thank you Gary! I’m really excited about it… I especially enjoy learning about the physics behind radio wave propagation, etc- it’s been great fun. And, thanks for the antenna recommendation!
Thanks K5JHP!!
Had mine six weeks. It's fantastic! And you'll love what General opens up for you.
you will most likely always be an outsider in that state
Thanks Stan… we’re hopeful the Texas community will appreciate our “state of jefferson” vibe 😊
Texas native here...the Hill Country is quite nice, but they have had millions of people move there from California in the past ten years, and the traffic and house prices reflect that. The Hill country in general, has decent weather, but San Antonio is crackling hot in the summer, and they do get tornadoes in the spring and summer. But they are generally safe from hurricanes - they are predicting up to 25 named storms this year, which is terrible. The water in the Gulf is very hot this year, which makes for EXTREMELY strong storms, (Hurricane Harvey brought us 52+ inches of rain in 48 hours!) and while we had 125-mph sustained winds, it caused tornadoes in the hill country. Austin had an E5, wiped out everything, right down to the foundations. Keep in mind that hurricane season here is June 1-Nov. 1. I am from Houston, which now has 7 million people in the area, and we consider the Hill country to be quite cool in temps, compared to our blistering hot, swampy heat. 🌴🐊🌴🐍🌴 We were married at a lavender farm in the Hill country, it is nice. Texas is huge, Houston is in SE Texas, and I can drive 11 hours to El Paso, and still be in Texas! I went to grad school in Oregon - I swear, I was cold for two years! 😊
Many thanks for watching, and for the feedback! I lived in southwest FL for many years, and can totally relate to the heat/hurricane info.
@@rurallivingwithtyandlisa eeeee, Florida is the only place I can think of that has more hurricanes! Good luck to you guys! Portland OR was where I went to grad school, but I was so broke all the time, I did not get to enjoy it. Rode the train for more than an hour once with two other Texans to get some real Tex-Mex food, cried when we ate it, cause it tasted like...home. ❤
Welcome back to Oregon, Ty. Great friendships require little maintenance. Great scenery and footage. Thanks for sharing with a fellow Oregonian Sub!
Thanks Russ!

You can come here to Alabama I have a homestead on top a mountain and we got Huntsville airport law's are relax if I want to build something I do no need to ask the crown for permission
Thanks Bearded! I went to school in Tallahassee, and spent many days exploring Alabama… beautiful country indeed!
are you using furniture grade plywood as sheathing? :O
if you stagger the blocking it's easier to nail and you won't have to toenail one side
Think he wants to keep the distance at 4' so he can use them to nail off the subfloor.
You're so stinking cute!!!!!
😂😂 It runs in the family. ❤
I almost peed my pants!😂😂😂
I see you.😍
Hahahaa. You're killing me, girlfriend! Well ok, Little Girl is killing me.
😘😘😘
you are amazing
Nice Airstream. Thanks for sharing. Be safe on the road and enjoy.
Morro Bay has a Bird festival and its said we get 500 species of birds in this area. my wife feeds them outside the kitchen window and the Yellow bellied sap sucker? are a favorite. I have no idea if we have those just like saying YBSS. Ha!
Right on!! 😂
We sometimes have the same issue with Birds and our windows more often in spring when I clean them.
Thanks Stan- you’re not far from us, so I suspect you’ve encountered exactly the same birds even😊 👍🏻
Happy Birthday, Miss Lisa!!! HUGS!!!
Thank you, Donna!! Hugs to you & Jim!
We started getting Bald eagles here in Alabama its neat
I don’t have audio while watching this so you may have mentioned it but what about insulation?
Great video! Wish you lots of happy camping.
Thank you! You too!
How about daily gym weights, Arnold Swartznager Yes, good job Rocky
Have you gotten any shifting of your tank since building it? We also just bought a 2500 gal. tank and not sure whether to go with concrete or a pad like yours. Thank you. Forney, TX
Hi Mary- we’ve had no settling at all. The base of pea-gravel works real well for us. If you decide to go that route, be sure to use pea-gravel, as it’s smooth stone. Anything jagged might cause a puncture in the tank. All the best!
plugging a tire tip. Nails and such seldom go in straight so find and follow the direction of the hole. I dislike flats, here in california tires cant be repaired if they are 4 years old! bs I say. my2cents PS you need to cote the plug with the glue it both seals and lubricates the plug without it the plug wont seal
Look into the milwaukee fuel 18 tire inflator its handy i keep one in my truck
