I would still prefer AC 3. Connor is much more fluid in combat, skilled, and has more tools. The map is just better and more detailed. The only thing I liked about ac4 is that ubisoft focused more on naval battles.

biased. calls people who use shields bitches, yet he sounds like the biggest beyotch of all, and also falsely saying that most bosses (even base game?) are awesome is stretching it, try to minimize the bad design of the blood vial/healing system is also dishonest. DS3 has better bosses overall, and Lies of P and Stellar Blade both have way better combat mechanics that this. This is just a PS4 supremacist whose BB was his first souls game, don't get me wrong, it MAY be the best out of the bunch (mostly because of the help From received from Japan Studio) but I think it's overrated still.

I personally prefer this to both Dragon's Dogma 1 and Elder Scrolls V. I hated the changes in character creation in Skyrim like removing the Class system and thought the opening was stupid. If an RPG wants me to choose a side in a civil war IMO the worst thing the writers can do is open the game's story by giving the player character a great reason to hate one side, And I prefer the combat in both this and Dragon Dogma 1 to Skyrim. And for some reason Dragon's Dogma 1 just didn't jive well with me. Its fun but not even close to being one of my top PS3 era RPGs and I haven't even played 2 yet because of that.

gameplay wise its alot like Gears of War but on steroids. ( yes i know GoW is inspired of wh40k). Tbh i craved for a game like this for quite some time now. We diddnt had smth similar for a longer time now. Gears of War 1-3 were insane, good story and gameplay, Chad simulator and now we got this Gigachad simulator. It may be straight forwards and can get repetetive aswell but i dont mind this at all.

GOTY isn't a specific quality tier. It is the best game of a given year, as chosen by a specific publication or publications. If this isn't GOTY, what was better in 2024?

Hot (garbage) take. As one of the few games that actually comes out as a finished product, and polished as well, it already has a very high starting point. Like the other games that you for some reason compared them to such as cyberpunk 2077. A buggy, rushed and unfinished game that needed a long time just to be fixed after release. Wukong has broken that trend by putting out a good, finished, polished gameplay experience. Many of your negatives can be changed by making builds surrounding different playstyles, like mana/magic builds, or more martial arts builds focusing on light and heavy attacks. The spirits aren’t supposed to be a massive damage output, the bosses are meant to be difficult with unique move sets that you learn and put damage in at specific times to maximize your damage. Using spirits at certain times can actually wipe a boss if you build yourself correctly. The enemy ai for most of the enemies are meant to be easy to read, they aren’t the main focus, the bosses are, and there are some actually difficult mobs, they are just fewer and farer between because if they weren’t people would complain about difficulty out of boss fights. Each of the chapters level designs are not simple nor simplistic, especially in later chapters. However, even if the levels were more linear does that change the fact that there are many secrets and beautiful landscapes. The open spaces aren’t the illusion of choice they just don’t let you go absolutely everywhere. The game has linear level design and that’s the way that the game was meant to be played, making that a negative against the game is a poor choice, since that’s more of a personal preference than a bad game design choice. Secret hunting and boss fighting to get great gear is awesome, it feels rewarding. There are strong bosses everywhere and they are all unique in ways that they fight. Why are you upset that there are so many of them? Your complaint here is that the world was difficult and by the time you get to some bosses/minis you are low on health, and you die. That’s just a part of the game. As you learn more about the world you can plan better for the battles later on by saving your healing and pills. Almost all boss fights have a very clear boss fight arena, if you pay attention. Showing yourself dying to elder jinchi in the middle of the arena doesn’t help your argument, and neither does yellow wins sage, where the walls of the arena are clearly defined by the sand. Never once was my immersion broken by the crags and cliffs of boss arenas, nor the sand being swept in a circle around a boss that controls sand with wind. The visuals are beautiful, and saying it’s more so middle of the road is kinda crazy. Saying that Wukong gets his ass handed to him shows that you didn’t pay attention to the story of the book, or the story of the game very well. And saying that you didn’t really care that much about it means you didn’t spend the time to get to know it, and your argument against the story falls flat. Like I said, hot (garbage) take.

They are very easy to read, very predictable because of that." 5 minutes later, talk about the locked door at Sandgate Village entrance shrine, having to move all the way around to and having used up majority of the gourd charges fighting the so-called "not aggressive, easily predictable enemy AI guais (not bosses, just normal guais), and getting creamed by Earth wolf. Then proceeds to say the door doesn't serve as a shortcut, only cutting the travel time by "2 or 3 seconds". Really self contradictory there. 1st you said the monster are easily predictable and not aggressive enough, and the "shortcut" being only save you 2-3 seconds, but within that 2-3 seconds of travelling the long way, you somehow managed to used up majority of your gourd charges fighting normal guais before reaching Earth wolf? and by the way, having that door open do make the path shorter to get from village entrance shrine to the well where mad tiger is. Boss standing at the other side of the invisible wall, making them inaccessible -- I've finish my 1st NG+, haven't encountered this except the instances where I immobilized the boss while they are flying, so should I blame the developers for my own bad timing? Further, the game was never advertised as open world, so why is it a problem that the game is "very linear"?

It's lack of accessibility options brings it down a notch or 2 imo. While it has a lot going for it, imagine how many people quit the game because they got stuck on a boss and couldn't even lower the difficulty

If this is not GOTY or at least a top contender, what is? Also a lot of your complaints and nitpicks are just objectively wrong. You CAN get mana back. Summon spells can absolutely be helpful. They have passives. It really comes down to you seem to not know enough about the game you are talking about. Your personal complaints about basic enemies and level design are wild takes to me. Linear does not mean BAD. Not every game needs to be fully open worlds. Basic enemies are never meant to be the most extreme variety and difficulty, but I would say having around 90ish basic enemies with unique designs and attacks is quite amazing. Complains that finding a mini boss, the main reason to play a game like this, is not a reward (also forgetting that beating a mini boss rewards you with an item that is usually worth it)....this review is just sad to me to be honest. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I wonder what you consider to be a top tier game, especially this year so far?

well you heard it people some dude named Ziggy said it is not game of the year so....there it is...wish he didn't say it but...here we are...some of you are going to say "WTF is Ziggy!!" and that would be fare. He is....some dude on youtube. The levels are wack the mobs are shit and the invisible walls are abundant. The rewards are trash and the graphics are meh. You might also ask "well did he fight every boss in those levels, go into every secret area, Level up all of his gear to learn how to earn more mana and make his weak light attacks better??.....nah he uninstaled first try. got a refund then everyone said it was good so he got it again and maybe beat it once pouting the whole time.

did you not get the jade flask? It recovers mana every time you use it. You can also recover mana thru pills & maxing the rock solid tree. Was this review made before chapter 4?

this game is not a souls game it's more like god of war so like a slasher type game it's not supposed to be like dark souls if you actually did your research you would know this and actually played it
