What overlocker are you using?
It’s Pfaff Coverlocker 4.0. I like it because it can also be used as a coverstitch machine for hems (a bit of a pain to setup, but you only need to do it once per project, so it’s tolerable)
Man, that is some small yarn. Is it as hard as it seems to knit that small? I've only ever knit socks with that fine of yarn
Actually not too bad. I see what you mean, though - looks smaller than it is! Using needles size 4 here
@good_morning_pins it does look tiny XD. I've been meaning to try some complex fair isle stuff with thin yarn maybe this is my sign.
Eek, that would take me good 2-3 years to finish 😂
@@good_morning_pins worth it if it turns out pretty enough XD. I'm always working on like 3 or 4 projects at once what's one more at this point
Wish I could use the same excuse, but not working on anything else! This sweater was meant to go with me to holiday in early August (made in cotton for chilly summer evenings). It’s almost Christmas and I still have one whole sleeve to go! 🙈
Great job 👏. Will be interesting to see how you work with a zipper ❤
Amazing amazing content ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😮😮😮😮😮
Thanks so much! Very glad you liked it ♥️
Great video, enjoyed watching it and good to see the whole process. would have been great to see the pattern as well. Anyway, fabulous video regardless.....
Thank you! As for pattern, any pyjama bottoms will do! I used Carolyn Pyjamas from Closet Core and just ignored completely that it’s meant for woven fabrics. I also widened the legs and removed mock fly and pretty happy with how they turned out 😊
Ooooops, I lied! I actually used Grasser 849 for these (I made very similar ones using Carolyn Pyjamas from Closet Core!)
that video was so helpfull and nice to look at, thank you so much!!! I think some suptitles here and there would have been even more helpfull though. Keep up this great work!!!🌹🌹🌹🌹
Thanks so much 😊 And definitely agreed on subtitles - will try not be lazy next time! 😂
Can i find this pattern anywhere? Or could I follow along without it in any way? I’m a beginner
I used vikisews_karen (here: vikisews.com/vykrojki/pants-and-shorts/karen-trousers/), but there is nothing unusual about this pattern and pretty much any tailored trouser pattern you like should do :)
Please would you share links to the bag pattern and the pressing device from Amazon? Thanks for sharing the sewalong
Thanks for tuning in! Sure! The pattern : www.blackbirdfabrics.com/en-gb/collections/bestie-bag-pattern You don't need expansion for the version I made, though the mini version does look pretty cute. As for the heat press, I tried finding the exact same I have, but it is no longer available on Amazon. There are similar ones here: amzn.to/3KXZdfZ or here amzn.to/3VTcMDJ
@@good_morning_pins You are terrific! Thank you for these. I can't wait to sew along with you. I have some stunning Japanese fabric I'm considering.
Oooh, very nice! Let me know how it turns out! I also have a piece of Japanese denim that I have been way too nervous to cut into 😬
@@good_morning_pins Twinsies! I'm terrified of cutting this!
😍👏👏
Loved this video, thank you! The directions were pretty clear the way you presented them & I like the background music. The waistband portion was a very helpful piece that I have not seen in other videos. The pocket portion was a little confusing to me but I think if I rewatch it, I will understand it better. I am preparing to make velvet chaps & this will certainly be a reference for me.
Thanks so much for this video. I love that you basted everything ❤
What pattern did you use? Love this!
Thanks! I used Grasser 849, but honestly, any pyjama bottoms will do!
I am so amazed at the way you basted that dart in....Seriously, that is pure genius. I never in a million years would have thought to do that but I am doing it NOW !!! What a game changer for me. I have always been so meticulous with darts and making sure the dart legs match up from front to back. This basting method you've done has made all the difference in the world for me. I cannot thank you enough.....❤
I felt exactly the same way when I first discovered it! Whoever invented it is a genius!
I'm your 89th sub! So excited for your channel!
Welcome! And thanks for subscribing! Hope you like it here :)
This would be nice if not for the fact that most beginner sewists probably don't have twin needles, or a machine compatible with twin needles
Oh, you can use twin needles with pretty much any entry level machine! And they are relatively cheap, around £4 or so :)
Basically, if the machine can do a zigzag stitch, you can use the twin needle with it
This is great! Very thorough
Thanks! 😊
Super👌
Thank you! 😊
Great video - super helpful! Thank you for taking the time!
Thank you SO much for making this video. I'm amazed this is so labor intensive. I don't think this kind of garment could be made in America. Minimum wage would drive the price sky-high.
Indeed. I made a coat from this fabric late last year, and about 90% of all stitching was hand sewn. Took about a month of leisurely paced sewing (few hours each evening)!
@@olya8543 Amazing. Yes, it is very relaxing. Can you post more videos on double cloth. You are the only one. I need a video for sewing with lighter weight doublecloth.
There is a machine that can separate the fabric for you, but it is expensive.
What is the iron on tape called?
I think it is stay tape.
It’s just an iron on interfacing (on grain), one of those stay tapes that come in a roll. Mine was quite wide so I cut it in half lengthwise.
Thank you. Got some from fabricana to finish my project
👌👍👍👍
