What episode is this
04:18 - LOL 😂😂
L322 was the best range rover ever made
This ages so well. Long live the L322.
like doo ssuuu
Running the 4.4 TDV8 now, can get 29.6 MPG and its a lovely big car to drive. The petrol engines are more reliable than the diesel I say..and sound much better!!
I fucking hate the BBC for taking down the best Top Gear videos on TH-cam the shitbags
0:50 Jeremy thinks that because there are different views of the camera system you can chose from to see whats around the SUV.
You can
They cut off the video when it was getting to the funny parts!!! “This is the car to buy, if you’re a sensible person...or if you’re a drunk.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
At 8-10 mpg you have to be a sheik. In my tdv8 i average 20 in town and 28-30 mpg on external.
Yes 95 percent of the time the TDV8 is faster and 100 percent of the time its a better engine
@@terrificspokesman7416 It's not faster lol. At least in Finland the 5.0 petrol makes a lot more sense than the diesels because diesels taxes are very high.
@@kustu The Petrol has no low and a very average mid range, especially the non supercharged versions. The Diesel in day to day is aactually a better drive 90% of the time. I hate diesels btw.
v added 3 cameras 1 in left mirror 1 in middle at the back of van in the middle for the reverse mirror and 1 in the right mirror and have 3 7inch monitors in sun visor so i dont need to take my eyes far from the road so as you look out the front just above your eye line you see left mirror monitor then in the middle reverse monitor then on the right the right mirror monitor so you can see without taking your eyes off the road so much it works for me and cost me about £100 i see everyone having something like this in the next few years i got the kit on ebay 2 off 7" LCD Monitor Car Rear View Kit + 7 IR LED Night Vision Reversing Camera UK and 1 off WIRELESS CAR BUS VAN REAR VIEW KIT 7" LCD MIRROR MONITOR + REVERSING CAMERA HD good luck drive safe Show less REPLY
Yes they are.
That would be very helpful in some areas in Erie, PA in the winter time where snow is like those hedges (a few feet high that completely blocks ur view of the incoming cars)
very rough! brave people didn't they shorten the swim because of the weather conditions?
is land rover and jaguar still being built and owned by tata motors?
296jayce yes even till this day and tara’s son took over not to long as of October-November 2017
This is probably better than the range rover sport. Im guessin all range rovers are better than range rover sports.
"I'd buy the diesel in a hartbeat" huh, Clarksons hates diesels haha
@patrykk2707 The camera are close to the ground but orthogonal to the driving direction (so the wind blows the dirt and water drops away). Further more, the lens barrel has a special design that ease the cleaning. In fact the 2 SideView cameras are less dirty than the RearView camera after driving.
@H4554nX0rZ Irish engineering actually.
@TheLighting564 Buy an iPod.
And weve been having all sorts of hell with them dropping signal/ blue screening. Breaks in the fiber optic cables. Just poor poor design
@TheLighting564 on what car?
@draziraphale The petrol engines are becoming notorious for porous blocks/heads. After all these years of land rover and being associated with head gasket leaks/ oil leaks porous blocks in the older days im disappointed . They are nice cars but coming from someone that works on these things days in and out. Id never OWN one and expect to hand it down to my children. Smarter to lease one and if you own one out of warranty best get some sort of aftermarket warranty
@draziraphale Dont know about that statement, ive been working on rovers for a while. The brits just cant get anything done right. Land rover engineers seem to focus more on appeal than reliability. We have been seeing nothing but problems with the new camera system. Cameras dropping signal/ blue screening. Land rover has no idea on an accurate fix. We have seen some cable issues since all of the camera/entertainment systems are fiber optic any bends or kinks will cause torture.
унылое говно(: ломается как опель
Dani Daniels не правда
All these cameras. haha, land rover drivers cannot parking. bmw x5m arbe better than land rover
BMW X5s don't give the same feeling or attention to detail like the range rover. The X5 is a crap car compared with the range rover
@draziraphale Oh yes, the technology is from Ireland. My mistake, you had mentioned that before.
@Carmaker1 This time (as with the BMW 7 Series), the Germans turned to a company in Ireland (Valeo Vision Systems in Tuam) to develop the technology. "German engineering" isn't necessarily German :-) VVS is part of the larger Valeo group.
@draziraphale Really? Would that be included on the 2011 Porsche Cayenne since they share some parts? I remember Audi first introducing the blind spot monitor in 2003 on the Pikes Peak concept of the Q7. It seems that mainly the Germans and Japanese excel in these areas. The Germans don't rush their work, they perfect it unlike the Japanese at times. No French, Italian, or American auto companies have pioneered such technologies.
@Carmaker1 I'd strongly recommend taking a look at the new European VW Toureg; this also has a kind of SideView camera, but the approach is different again. It has 4 viewing cameras on it and birds eye views from it are nice and it has a lot of views. I'll try to generate some decent video of it in action with the cameras and complete vision system.
@patrykk2707 Rain has the benefit of removing dirt and also the cameras are outside of the direct spray zone of the wheels. The aerodynamics are also such that if the vehicle is moving forward with a sufficient speed to throw up muddy water, it is also moving past that water, i.e., it splashes up behind the camera. So it works better than one might otherwise think.
@draziraphale Thanks for your time! The statement about the patent Toyota made is spot on. Toyota and Nissan didn''t implement the cameras the way BMW does. Theirs came from a single camera like you said. Honda's system on a 2005 Accord(JDM/European model) used a camera on the front left and right side positions exactly like BMW's system. That being said, I like this system, as when I visited my parents, I enjoyed using it when driving my mum's 760Li. A much better model than the E65/E66.
@Carmaker1 Automotive journalists are reluctant to let facts get in the way of a good story :-) I know that Toyota had an implementation (and I believe a patent) whereby they pointed a single camera into a prism (basically converging a view from the left and from the right). To some degree that would make it a side viewing front camera application. I'm still not sure which Japanese companies you mean for a SideView system specifically like that on the current 7-series. Thanks for the feedback!
@draziraphale Besides that the 2008 Land Cruiser and Lexus LX570 offered this as an option. I send you a PM of all the links.
@draziraphale The 2002 Toyota Alphard van in Japan and parts of Asia introduced this feature in mid-2002. The 2002 Nissan Elgrand luxury van did the same thing. By 2004-2005ish some models from Honda/Acura also offered these on their high end saloons in the East. I am working to confirm if BMW, Audi, or Mercedes-Benz also offered side view cameras prior to 2008.
@draziraphale I'll try, but we can't post links in comments. I will say I got my info about the E65/E66 wrong. I think that model(06-08) only offered a frontal camera, not necessarily dual side view. The same applies to Bentley, however the Japanase offered this much earlier. European models only offered frontal view cameras as opposed to side view. Automotive journalists should avoid using the word "first" in describing innovations, unless they categorize the sector they are talking about.
I LOVE MERCEDES
@Carmaker1 Fair comment, but you haven't proven him wrong either; could you respond with a few links to those specific features to substantiate that he is wrong (I could possibly update the video with them)?Thanks in advance.
No it isn't. The E65 offered that already in 2005 for Europe. Domestic models for Mercedes, Toyota(in Japan)(+Lexus), Honda(in Asia), Bentley, and Nissan(in JP)(+Infiniti) also have offered this dating back to 2003. He shouldn't make ignorant statements that can be proven wrong.
top gear my favorite show int he world it is awesome
Yes, and it must have turned the hair of the guy who worked on the contained system grey. ;-)
Thanks for that; there is a lot of talent and hard work in this country which discreetly reflects itself in the top technologies and products in the world. Given the people, skills, knowledge and experience I see every day here, I am utterly unsurprised however. There is a lot more in the pipeline; ... watch this space
