Salesforce Forecasts + Quotas: Add Custom Data + Reference Data Columns to Forecast Page
This is the fourth video in our Salesforce Forecasting Series! You will learn how to add reference data columns to the Forecast page. Reference Data columns allow us to display custom data in columns in the Forecast tab. We’ll cover adding columns for a Stretch goal and last year’s actual sales amount, and then we’ll add calculated columns to show how close we are to meeting these custom data points.

    Hello, yes, this is a great app, I have a question about the Legacies Campaigns previously set up, is there a way to update the statuses for those with the new statuses created for a particular Record Type?

      @user-ds2bh1fz6c This is a great question. You can update the Statuses for the Campaign Members in legacy campaigns but it is not that easy. Salesforce does not allow you to rename a Campaign Member Status record if it is assigned to a Campaign Member. You would need to create the new Campaign Member Status and then update the Campaign Members to have the new Status. Then delete the old Campaign Member Status record. You can import the new Campaign Member Status records using Data Loader which will be faster than adding it through the UI. Let me know if you have further questions on this.

    trying almost same scenario but constantly getting 'null' in recommendationoutput. The decision and filters debug showing all correct values.       @umeradil I think the issue is in this part: {!outputRecommendations} Add {!currentItem_filterumer} -> Instead of choosing the 'currentitem' variable, select the variable for the Record Collection from the Collection Filter. See minute 11:58 in the video and see one of the Record Collection Variables are chosen, not the Record (Single) Variable. Let me know if this is what the issue was.

      @blzawii You can send emails to 5,000 recipients per day. Here is a link to the article on List Email Limitations: help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.limitations_email_list_email.htm&type=5 If you have setup the appropriate DKIM keys, this will help to prevent Salesforce emails from going to spam folders. Here is a great article that explains reasons for Salesforce emails (any email, not just the ones sent via list emails) may be going to spam folders: mailtrap.io/blog/salesforce-email-going-to-spam/

    how can i handle this with serval audiences in Mailchimp? And a contact could be in serval audiences and just opted out from only one list?

      Instead of updating a field on the Contact, you would need to update a record in a custom object. The custom object would be related to the Contact and there would be one record per audience. Then you could have multiple records per contact and could manage the opt outs separately.

    The tag clear via import wizard is actually because of a mailchimp API limitation. B12 said they are adding invokable actions for tags soon, as well (at the Fort Wayne Nonprofit User Group meeting that demo'd it this month) You can add contacts one at a time via the lighting web component you can put on contacts, leads or person accounts. The Manage list button there will subscribe/unsubscribe from any audiences.

      There is a way to create new leads in this new app! Go to the MailChimp Audiences tab - click on the audience - Field mappings - in the MailChimp to Salesforce settings update #2 to be "When no record match, create a Lead". Then make sure to update the mappings for the Lead object.

    Hello! Thanks for the video! I have a doubt that you may have faced when using NBA, We've seen that our NBA request are being counted when no recommendations are returned ( and counted as "no recommendation returned" in the recommendation metrics report) and we are hiding the component when this happens as well. Is that normal? Is there any way to stop this behaviour? Cause it doesn't feels right to consume request when nothing is showing. Anyway! Thanks for all your content. It's been very helpful.

      Thank you for the kind words so glad you are finding our channel helpful! We have seen this as well. I believe the intent is to provide reporting on how often no recommendations are found in case this indicates the need for you to modify the criteria for showing the recommendations. Some people may find this helpful if they want a recommendation to show all of the time. Also I don't think it counts as a request in your consumption metrics on the company information page. Are you finding that it does?

      This is a custom field we created on the opportunity, you will need to create it manually. It is a lookup to the Contact object.

    I stumbled across this as a client has the free version and we needed to reinstate the sync due to a change in credentials but it seems that we can't do that without uninstalling and reinstalling it, which I don't want to risk yet until I know we can install it! ROAR!!

      You are correct, changing the user credentials requires a reinstall. I still haven't heard back from MailChimp on the request for the link. I would open a support ticket with them to see if you can get it.

    Hi Cheryl, thank it for creating these great videos, I have a question - when I enabled additional campaign influence models setting, it automatically created the first touch, last touch and even distribution model.       Do you have Account Engagement (fka Pardot) in your org? If yes, this explains how/why those models were automatically created. We are working on two other videos that will show you how to do a weighted distribution based on type and position.

      Our first touch custom model videos are for orgs without Account Engagement. We will not be doing any videos on how to use custom models with Account Engagement. We do not have expert level knowledge in Account Engagement. It will be at least 2 months before we have the weighted distribution model videos ready.

    Absurd. So many customers left hanging. My team found out when we tried to install for a new client and realized we lost support for around 15 implementations we built out and charged clients for. EoL is probably coming... I can't imagine the feeling after creating all of these great videos, yet you guys still voice your opinion professionally. Thanks again for these videos... They helped me learn a lot when I really needed it.

    Can we track the list emails like the HTML Email status report? In list emails i wanted to show data isOpened? Opened date?

      For List Emails, you can only track the opens if you have Sales Engagement or Account Engagement. Here is the link to the API documentation for the ListEmail object: developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.object_reference.meta/object_reference/sforce_api_objects_listemail.htm - go to the TotalOpens field and it says: "Users need the Sales Engagement User permission set or your org must use Account Engagement and users need the CRM User or Sales User permission set." Sales Engagement fka High Velocity Sales is a paid product for Enterprise editions, it has been added to Performance and Unlimited editions as a feature. Account Engagement fka as Pardot is a paid product for all Salesforce editions.

    I think you are using Microsoft Edge thats why some layouts stuff looks wonky ...try using Chrome ... I always use Chrome as default for Salesforce.

    To view a report of HTML emails sent from another user, you can create the report as shown, then add that report to a Dashboard. You'll have to assign the system permission to Manage Dynamic Dashboards and View My Team's Dashboards on your profile first and I believe you have to enable dynamic dashboards. Click the gear icon on the Dashboard to view the Properties and then click "View the Dashboard as The Dashboard viewer" and "Let dashboard viewers choose whom they view the dashboard as" boxes. Once set up, then you will be able to change "Viewing as <User Name>" on the upper left side of the Dashboard and see that users HTML emails.

    Really awesome content, appreciate your efforts! Are there ways to limit the usage of list emails. Can you please suggest any tools or system restrictions that we can put in place so that the users don't misuse the feature or accidentally send too many emails to the same set of contacts.

      Thank you for your kind words! You have a great question a lot of companies would love to answer. I am unaware of a way to limit the number of emails sent. You can audit the emails people are sending and then train them on why the email was not ok. We recommend creating email templates for people to use too. You will find they prefer using templates when it helps them be more efficient. In this video: th-cam.com/video/h6ggOCFqjMY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Mu4x7xaIcPDnSPyy we show you how to create email footers that are automatically included in any email sent from Salesforce. This is good for your confidentiality notice. I would also recommend creating email templates with the current user's email signature populated in your company's proper format. You will have to use reports to understand who is sending emails and to how many people, how many times. If you find someone is sending too many you can take away their permissions. I wonder if there is some apex someone could write that could limit this. Would be interesting to look into.

    Great video - how do you evenly distribute campaign influence % across all actions? I don't have that module readily available and currently I can't even edit the default Salesforce model.

    Thank you so much for this tutorial! Really informative and presented so well. I've followed your steps within the query setup and am coming across a hiccup. After selecting the audience, creating the filters, then am shown a preview of which leads fit within the filters I've selected. But when I progress to save and run the query, it returns zero subscribers added. Data sync is on in my settings. Any ideas what could be causing this? Thank you so much!

      @@BluTigerAcademy Yes, the Last Status is reflecting Success in the Member Queries tab. In the preview screen, the Subscriber Status is showing "New". Interestingly, three new leads were created yesterday via our website that came into SF. Those three went through the query and have imported into Mailchimp successfully! So now, just trying to figure out how to migrate the ones created prior to setting up the query. Again, you all are so amazing for helping and troubleshooting! Much appreciated!

      @@MikkiSkinner-vq8eqThat you for the explanation!! You need to run a mass update to the existing records to trigger the last modified date to be today's date. You can run an export via data loader with just the ID in the file. Then run an update with only the Id in the file to trigger the Last Modified Date to change. This should then make the query pick up the existing records. I think we have a video on how to do this somewhere, let me know if you need me to dig that up for you.

    Thank you for this series. Is there a reason to keep the campaign hourly stats records if we are not storing the campaign stats in the salesforce standard campaign object?

      You are welcome! If you want to report on the campaign stats in Salesforce, then you would need to keep at least one record per campaign. If you get all of this reporting from MailChimp then there is no reason to keep them.

    Liked your video....Question: we have multiple campaigns and tactics within them. If we want opening an email to contribute 10% to the influence, attending a webinar 50% and filling out a form to be 50%, we get 110% of the sale influenced by Marketing if they do all the above. No good. I am giving a very basic example obviously, but how do we prevent this scenario? Thanks!

      I think you would have to make sure the percentages add up to 100%. We have not implemented a solution like this using campaign influence yet. What did you build to apply the percentages to each activity?

    Hello, Very nice video. What would be the benefit of using Next Best Action instead of a regular screen flow that replicates what recommendations and logic recomendations do?

      Thank you! Regular screen flows cannot be used to collect recommendations to show to a user. You have to use the flow type = Recommendation Strategy to query, create or gather the recommendations. These types of flows have a variable called output recommendations. Let me know if this answers your question, I am not sure if I followed exactly what you are asking.

I meant that pretty much all what has been shown regarding NBA and reccomentation can be replicate it by a regular screen flow with a lot of logic behind right? Im not including the einstein dynamics recomentation part here. I mean that at the end you can create a screen flow that analyse the record your are in and who is triggered to who that recomendation in specific.

      I think I am following you now, let me know, I think, your question is why go through the trouble of setting up Einstein NBA if you can achieve the same things with logic and screen flows. It's a great point. We decided to use it with our customers because it was a nice UI where we could easily control which actions showed to the user, report on their engagement and limit the number of times it shows easily. We were using dynamic actions to show/hide buttons and they were not an obvious step of the workflow for the user because there were other buttons like 'edit', 'clone', etc. We also really liked how much data you can report on around user engagement, which we would have to custom build with a screen flow. If we go the screen flow route and put it on the lightning record page - we would have to figure out how to allow the user to have 4 button choices (that are dynamically shown) and then route the user to the appropriate subflow. It's all possible! I think Einstein NBA gives you a straight forward way to do it without custom code and with some cool features along the way. Let us know what you think.

    It would be great if the app could work like TrailHead, assigning each set of questions an overall score and having a different score if you get it right on the first try or on subsequent attempts. We already have the Attempt # field on the Quiz Taker record. We just need to add a way to specify the # of points a quiz taker can earn on the Quiz Module. I will add this to the enhancement list and let you know when we implement it.
