I am Vancouver island,one of the largestcougars population in North America and I can tell you they don't stalks their pray like a afercain lion,they are anbush hunters .If he was being stalked,the lion would croched down.The hunter should have made his presence known,hiding and acting like prey,bad idea.You stand tall,yell,and NEVER RUN I hope this helps you city folks

This kind of brings back memories to me it what you said what was stalking you. My dad and my uncle Gary uncle where hunting a six or seven or maybe even 9 horn elk will they they were following the elk and realize that the son-of-a-bitch turned around was stalking them and I was just a little girl I'm 60 years old now but I remember this and they ended up realizing that the thing that came around behind them that's a smart animal I guess they end up shooting it but I was just a little girl at the time but I've never forgot it I just thought I'd tell you about it but I these animals are hungry because people are hunting and killing prey that they could be eating and you know they're hungry and I have never seen a mountain lion in my life and I always grew up in the mountains

Tonto is about right. At no point does the cougar stalk him and at no point is he unsuspecting. Quite the reverse on both counts. Quite a cool sighting without the dumbassed title.
