Follow me on my adventures in search of creativity! My name is Karlijn de Groot and I'm a video artist and performance artist, you will see my art videos here first and also the creative process. I think TH-cam can be a great showcase for my video art.
My art is not only beautiful to look at, I hope, and I work hard at that, to also add some depth to my art and everything I do. That's way I try to live consciously and always learn about sexism, racism, activism and the environment!

I give you my word | Making art in Glastonbury | part three of the residency
A few months back I was invited by Alex Fraser, who I’ve known for a quite some years because she also had a workspace in TAC Eindhoven, to come to Glastonbury for a residency. Not a normal residency but a very special one!
Unfortunately her dad, Peter Fraser, past away almost 2 years ago. As a part of the grieving process, to honor her dad and to do something creative she organized the artist residency with Gareth, a friend of her dad.
Gareth and Peter shared a great love for books. Peter had a book print workshop from home and Gareth has a few bookstores in Glastonbury. So for the first artist residency in 2023 they decided to make a book in two weeks with a couple of artists friends.
This year the residancy is called: ‘I give you my word’ and I was also invited to do a workshop and a performance. All the artist gave a workshop!! So the two weeks are filled with making cool stuff together.
Come join us on this creative journey in the crazy town of Glastonbury.

Unfortunately her dad, Peter Fraser, past away almost 2 years ago. As a part of the grieving process, to honor her dad and to do something creative she organized the artist residency with Gareth, a friend of her dad.

Latest news: The world just acknowledged that Khmer or Cambodia did not build Angkor Wat. Who is Khom? The latest research done by Chiang Mai University in collaboration with an international research team has examined DNA samples from Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Burma, and Cambodia, compared with DNA samples from ancient humans found in archaeological excavations of each country. Compared to the current ASEAN DNA As a result, Thailand is close to Vietnam, Laos, and Indonesia, but Burma and Cambodia are separated. People who lived during the Khom civilization are pedigree South Indian Mon which is not found in Cambodia This clearly indicates that Khmer is not Khom and Khom Warman was completely eradicated from the present Khmer faction, which had no Khmer ancestry. This coincides with the story of Nai Tang Wan (Mr.Sweet Melon, the slave master) Rebellion who established himself as a later king with the eradication of the Varman dynasty and theories. Diva Sarug Khmer according to the Sap Bak inscription was just a savage village recruited for slave labor. (China-Zhou Da Guang's record)

Mooie performance! Ik vond het wel gek dat de intro in Nederlands was en je voordracht in Engels vanwege het schakelen tussen de talen. Maar het gaat natuurlijk om de boodschap.
Dankjewel! Ik werk meestal in twee talen, denk dat ik hier zelf in het Nederlands begon omdat de intro in het Nederlands was. Engels vind ik wel beter omdat meer mensen het dan verstaan?
@@karlijnonlijn ja, zeker. Dat is ook de reden dat ik alles in het Engels doe online. Maar Nederlands of Russisch in mijn geval kan ook fijn zijn. Ik versta ook Oekraïners maar durf het niet te spreken omdat ik de taal zelf niet gebruik. Ik ben Russischtalig opgevoed...

Zooo herkenbaar!! Ik heb een hond bij me, dat scheelt al veel, en deed maar steeds max 5 dagen alleen camperen. Maar ik deed het 't beste op een veilige natuurcamping in veel natuur met een paar leuke mensen al is het maar voor de goedemorgen (Zweden,afgelopen zomer)
Dank! Toch fijn om te horen dat ik hier niet alleen in sta. Het lijkt allemaal zo makkelijk, totdat je zelf in je eentje ergens in the middle of nowhere staat met je bus. Lijkt me idd wel heel fijn met een hondje, ben je toch minder alleen!

Mooi stukje van een verlegen Karlijn, maar die wel adverteerd op andere sites. 😀 ik heb ervan genoten. Overigens zijn vrouwen ook goed in een female gaze. Meestal alleen terughoudender. Tenzij er wat drankjes op zijn bv. Op een vrijgezellen feestje met een stripper 😀 Oja de glazen bol zegt: kijk uit voor 2 schele katten.
Leuk dat je hebt gekeken! Dat “adverteren” werkt dus wel 😜 Inderdaad, er bestaat ook een female gaze, maar ik heb deze video gemaakt om te vertellen over mijn ervaringen met de male gaze en wat dat met me gedaan heeft. Ik hoop door open te zijn hierover en over het grote verschil dat er nog steeds is tussen mannen en vrouwen, we ooit in een wereld leven waarin meisjes en vrouwen zich veiliger zullen voelen.
Super goed filmpje! Dit soort ruimtes zijn heel belangrijk voor kunstenaars, en kunstenaars zijn heel belangrijk voor een leefbare stad. Waar alle inwoners zich kunnen vermaken. Ik ben door dit filmpje wel reuze benieuwd geworden naar de feestjes en creatieve uitspattingen die zich hier hebben plaats gevonden. 🥰
