    I quit going to Panama City Beach because of this park's closing down. It was pretty much the only thing that set it apart from beach communities. Now I can just go to Gulf Shores and get pretty much the same experience, which is where my wife and I go now. I wish they'd not closed this park down. It was historical landmark.

    I just want to thank you so very much for sharing this video. This place will always hold a special place in my heart. I was there every summer! Because of you I was able to show my 18 year old son a piece of my childhood and teenage years on video! Made me tear up a bit. This literally took me BACK IN TIME.❤❤❤ 😊

    I have a '67 in green and white that is like new. A folder with a case. All literature and receipt for 189 bucks when purchased new. The original owner, my next door neighbor, was General Curtis Lemay's personal crew chief. Bomber group in England WW2. I love that little 3hp. R.I.P. Archie.

    uggh, thank you for this! I miss it so much! I'm a local and that year me and all my friends made it our "mission" to go EVERY single weekend until it closed. Miracle strip was such a part of my childhood. I was 14 in 2004 when they closed. I still have my season pass from that year in a box in my dad's attic.

    One of the highlights of my childhood was in the summer when my church youth group would go to Shipwreck Island for the day and Miracle Strip that evening. I can still remember a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich I had at Miracle Strip, the Old House and the Starliner! Ahhhhhh, good times! Simpler times!

    • @skittles92485
      @skittles92485 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its so funny that you say that about the cheesesteak. I was a ride operator at Miracle Strip my senior year of high school in 2003, and working there was the first place I ever had a cheesesteak and is still what I judge every other cheesesteak on. I know there are better ones out there, but none have ever matched up to how good I remember that one being.

    • @TrueLifeAdventures

      @@skittles92485 That's so awesome! Do you remember the name of the place that served them? I still judge all others by that one as well!!

    • @skittles92485
      @skittles92485 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TrueLifeAdventures I dont, but it was right near the front of the park where the stage was, directly across from the soft serve vendor. They made things like chicken strips, the cheesesteak, and a bucket of fries.

      @@skittles92485 Yes, I believe you're right. I'm only 3 years older than you so I imagine we were in the area at the same time at some point. I live about 3 hours away from Panama City. I was sure sad to see the park go down hill and be lost. Like so many things from my childhood.

    My Dad took us there and to Petticoat Junction a few times in the late 70's. We'd get in there and ride on the coster and everything else all day till it closed. Loved the Road Runner, you drove a real car with a gas engine with working steering/gas/brakes on a track that went though the park and under the train tracks. My freaking head almost exploded when I found that ride at 9 years old.
