these sounds can also apparently be heard in Surface Tension (Chapter 12) and somewhere in the Xen chapters. there's still no real explanation as to why these sounds were even put into the game in the first place. really spoopy. and if you are wondering: no - this isn't an ARG, these sounds are actually in the game and weren't added post-production.
