Horror Hall of Fame (1974)
First broadcast 40 years ago today (as of this posting) on October 31st, 1974 on the ABC WIDE WORLD OF ENTERTAINMENT. Vincent Price hosts this affectionate comedy tribute to classic horror movies. With John Carradine, John Astin, Billy Van, Frank Gorshin, Candy Clark, makeup artist William Tuttle, and author Raymond McNally.

So this was an existing special before Robert Englund was a host in the 90’s?
This is cool. I only remember watching the ones in the early 90s hosted by Robert Englund.
Can’t believe how much the “Igor” guy that keeps showing up looks like Alan Davies (from the UK’s Qi). Way before his time, but that’s all I can see when he shows up.
I remember watching a little bit of The Horror Hall of Fame on ABC-TV when it was originally broadcast in 1974, on October 26th of that year. It came on late at night, so I watched it with the volume low onmy black-and-white portable TV so that I couldn't disturb my parents while they slept. I am glad that you posted this special on TH-cam because I have been a fan of Vincent Price for many years since the 1970s, and I have admired his work on television and in the movies of his that were shown on TV at that time. I even had a crush on him from late 1973 to mid-1978, so I am glad to see this special.
P.S. Vincent Price always looks handsome in a suit and a tie and in a tuxedo. He is always handsome when he is well-dressed.
This TV Special was first mentioned in Famous Monsters of Filmland #109 with Vincent Price in "Mad House". It was aired only once on October 31, 1974.

WOW...this is my rip I posted online years ago, and this is the third place I've found it on TH-cam, and each time it's had over 14,000 views! I recognized the little imperfections that were in the rip I did, which is how I knew it was my old rip.

Wow,Thank u for posting this. I never even heard of the Horror Hall of Fame. There was a small fortune between the King Kong& Famous Monsters posters on the wall,to all the toys he had on the table showing The Adams Family dad. Thanks again.
I read about this in Famous Monsters of Filmland but never saw it until now. Thanks for putting it on TH-cam.

I remember this show when I was a kid. Awesome.
This is great !! The Riddler and Egghead just hanging out ; talking about classic horror films !! And , there is a picture of Conrad Veidt in the museum as well !! ( Veidt's look and performance in " The Man Who Laughs !!" helped inspire the creation of the BATMAN villain -- The Joker !! )

+I, Leona Thanks! By the way, it's not old but it's very scary, The Secluded House, an Australian film. After several days of Sasquatch, Bigfoot and horror films, I watched that tonight and it did me in. The way it started off I wasn't impressed, but boy did that change! Don't watch it late at night and alone.
