My googan green bait caster rod lasted a month.The piece you tighten to lock the real down would loosen and never locked down & needed to be snugged up every 20 casts even though the clicks are supposed to not allow it to loosen.The warranty was still covered & they don’t cover their warranty’s.They make you go to some 3rd party company.Luckily I took it to the place I bought it that had a 30 day return policy & went with st croix bait caster ..Wouldn’t own another one if you gave it to me.Fancy trash

Nice overview. I broke my Gold Series due to me being an idiot and walking it into a door lol. CatchCo replaced it free of charge. I've bought many more since then including a Black Series which is just on another level of anything ive used.

I was given an OTX Pro baitcast reel last week, I changed the line after I got home and I'm very pleased with it.

What size shaft did you guys go with on the ultrex?

Just received a Shimano K for Christmas. It is my first Shimano. I am a Lews guy and have over 20 reels from them. It seems to do very well with full casts, but does poorly with intermediate to short casts. The first 20 yards or so is prone to backlash a lot. And I rarely backlash when fishing. If you make a full cast it will get past the very loose area and tighten up and end up very smooth. I am generally a target fisher, so this reel will not get used very much. maybe I can use it for catfishing.

Boil your frogs and/or turn the hook point up slightly

I noticed you real line in with rod in left hand, then switch hands to cast with rod in right I did this for years because I got my first bait casting reel from a buddy… Next reel you get, make sure retrieve handle is opposite side of reel, you will thank me! I made this switch my casting and reel is much better and faster

i have a Gold series go to-shimano curado Gold series Muscle-shimano slx ive been really liking both em a bunch, real good rods. I just ordered a gold finesse rod and cant wait to try it out. also in next couple months gonna get a gold reaction. but the gold rods ive been really liking! You should do a vid on finesse rod

Oh that carp got my heart racing and I'm just watching. I'm wanting to get a baitcaster but don't want to waste money on a cheapy that will break but don't want to buy a good one when I'm not that great of a fisherman (I'm alright I'd say)
