Age old argument that the pirate ships caused interference to marine frequencies...total hogwash ! The stations were ran professionally with commercially made transmitters , not some home brew lash up.

It was frequently suggested that the pirates interfered with other marine operations. Despite the fact such stations as Caroline and Laser operated on a totally different waveband!

Peter Philips - what a truly high-class presenter he was on Caroline. That superb voice, and perfect diction. He puts today's BBC standards to shame. Where is he now?
