Review Behringer NX3000
Power measurements for the NX3000
I work several years as a PA soundman an i needed a small cheap and lightweight amplifier for small Venues so i came to the NX3000 from Behringer.
I have several equipments from Behringer , DCX2496/DEQ2496/several analog mixers and compressors with satisfying results, but no amplifiers.
I couldn't believe this amplifier had such a amount of power until i tested it, and it's what they decribe in the manual, and the best part, it's almost impossible to clip the amplifier because of the well designed power clip protection. This thing kicks !!!!

    Great video! I had to do the same. I used a regular wiring (2x 0,75mm pp) to connect two devices through rs485. Incredibly when the ambient temperature rises to about 28° C, the communication stops. I've put a 220R resistor (one at each side), and the problem was solved. The length of the cable is about 130 meters. How do I see if the resistors I used there are properly? Best

      Test it whit a function generator with square waves and a oscilloscope, the square waves must always have the same shape independent of the frequency , than you have the right resistor.

    I believe 450 watts is peak. The limiter is a peak limiter. 450 x .707 will give RMS. 319 watts rms. This is in line with the inuke 3000 original which puts out 315 watts rms and Berhringer posts peak at around 440 watts rms. This is for the 8 ohm rating.

    • @sitecsolutionsbelgium3907
      @sitecsolutionsbelgium3907 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tested the amp and it gives +-450watt rms in burst mode 1Khz for about 1 min constantly 8ohm, The limiter is different than the inuke, its a zero attack digital forward filter and the limit function kicks in like a compressor where the threshold and slope varies across the signal level it detect. If you go for constant sinewave signals, the signal slope's down, but signal testing and musical signals are 2 different aproaches. In my opinion this amp do the job very well for a very cheap price, but indeed, don't compare this amp with very expensive one's.

    Hello, I just bought this amplifier the NX3000D, to be able to control it from the PC, I have a 4ohm MTX 8515-44 dual coil Subwoofer, I'm running it at 8ohm bridge mode with the NX3000D, I have seen that the LIMIT light usually jumps when the bass is deep, the clip never comes, I know that it is dangerous. I have the cuts made of 35hz, high pass and 100hz low pass in the x-over. These are the specifications of my speaker Fs: 26.37 Hz Qms: 4.32 Cms: 0115 mm / N Mms: 315.43 g Rms: 12.10 kg / s Vas: 4,702 ft3 (133.13 liters) X max: 0.850 in (21.59mm) D: 13.372 in (339.64mm) Sd: 140.43 in2 (906.00 cm2) Vd: 119.38 in3 (1.96 liters) Qes: 0.89 Re: 1.57 Ohm B | : 9.58 Tm Prms: 600 Watts Q ts: 0.740 N0: 0.264% SPLo: 86.20 dB SPL 2.83V / 1m: 92.64 dB Recommended Power 300 - 600 Watts RMS What power does NX3000D bridge mode actually deliver? Is this amp correct or would the NX6000D have been better? A greeting!

    • @sitecsolutionsbelgium3907
      @sitecsolutionsbelgium3907 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, the nx3000d should deliver +-1500 watt rms bridge-mode 8 ohm and the limit light actually kicks in real fast, but that's normal because it has an advanced zero attack limiter who works like an normal compressor with variable threshold and compression ratio, the higher the input the more aggressive the limiter kicks in. That is why you can't get these amplifiers clip, the digital circuit is so good that it protect amazingly well the spikes in the signal. I had never seen this before in these cheap amplifiers, only the expensive ones do this, so Behringer well done!!

    • @sitecsolutionsbelgium3907
      @sitecsolutionsbelgium3907 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you make the cabinet yourself for the speaker above, and what are the dimensions. I see you have an FS of 26Hz so below that would be problematic for the speaker and no significant SPL would be achieved. Normally with the amplifier you say the nx3000d you can blow up the speaker if its not damped enough. A SPL of 86 db/w/m is also low so don't try to achieve the same SPL levels of very expensive subwoofers with high spl rates, if you want to play the same spl levels related to a 96 db/w/m speaker you need to put 100x more power for the same SPL level, so think twice when you buy a speaker. I have a electrovoice speaker with an SPL of 102db/w/m and with 30watt Rms the whole house shivers.On stage with 600watt RMS on it , you get the kick of the bass drum rely in your stomach. It's not always the amplifier who's responsible for bad sound :)

      Hi, i checked the site of MTX and verified the S&T parameters in speaker software and the designs of them are safely chosen and ok, but you can even go deeper, but than you reach the xlimit of the speaker and the danger zone if you don't know what you'r doing with cutoff frequency's especially for vented enclosures.The max spl of this speaker is about 120dB/1m 600 watt rms with the designs from MTX. The safest way to go is a closed box , and the loudest is the vented enclosure (+3db). Good luck;

    • @sitecsolutionsbelgium3907
      @sitecsolutionsbelgium3907 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, for using these amps for subs you should use an external crossover or buy de nx3000d who has a digital xover inside. Consider also that these amps are used for PA outdoor apllications where the lowest reachable freq is about 30Hz so for hifi applications who will reach lower than 20Hz it is not the way to go. For driving subs until 30Hz/24db/okt HP , wich is very low for PA applications outdoor, these are amps good, but its all about the way you EQ your mastering in the mixer, you can get impressive sound with these things but its the way you do your mastering, (shit in =shit out) and measure your cappabilitys of the speakers, a big mistake that many people do, is try to get the lowest bass out of the subs who can't deliver it because of the speaker and cabinet configuration. Most of them can't reach 30hz with good SPL , check it before you push your speakers and amps to the limits

    • @sitecsolutionsbelgium3907
      @sitecsolutionsbelgium3907 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      These are PA amplifiers and I use them never lower than 30Hz because subwoofers with this power handling performance don't like this, most of the speakers have a low cut off region about 30Hz otherwise they just move a lot without giving significant acoustic output

      @@doskoreanitos2588 witch speaker cabinet are used, i never use these amps below 4 ohm ,because if you know something about the electronics in amplifiers than you should know that most of the amplifiers above 500 watt have difficulties to throw the amperes in the speakers, even the expensive ones have trouble to give high power in 2 ohm, don't push these things to the limits in current, just the very expensive ones can do the job like crown, L'acoustics, qsc but than you need to give a lot more money, buy 2 cheaper amps and you can do the same. In 4 and 8 ohm they give almost the power they say in the manuals but in 2 ohm they struggle with the amperage's, that's right

    • @sitecsolutionsbelgium3907
      @sitecsolutionsbelgium3907 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@doskoreanitos2588 , in the early days i made my own amplifiers and making them stable at 2 ohm was quit a challenge , just for giving the high currents, was most of the time a problematic issue, so we stuck on the 4 ohm capability, and now these days with the class D amplifiers who can deliver high currents through their mosfets seems to struggle also , not because of the current, but the power supplies can't make it happen when high currents are wanted. If you want high current power supply's we should stick to the old toriodal transformers instead of the high frequency switching power supply's who also struggle with low frequent high power currents.
