Here is a video to showcase my homemade 25ton log splitter that took 9 months to build (including research) and cost around 2500€.

This is just a short video, part of a larger video i am working on Music: Kenny Rodger, the gambler
That was very helpful, thank you!
Is it a 995 or a 996? It says 995 on the bonnet
Great video , just about to buy one similar on eBay so this was very informative cheers 🍻
Always wanted to build my own but never got started. Well done.
I have one just the same,
Can you give me your imeil - I have a few questions about the treaty David Brown I live in Poland
Nice job and when you install the two stage pump it will be a lot more user friendly. That was some really gnarly oak you were splitting as well!
Good video, I'd prefer the sound of the saw . That way I could hear how hard the saw had to labor. 😊
Great video. Thank you.
I’m gonna assume the baffle in the hydraulic tank is to stop the sloshing affect of the fluid. In bigger tanks it would be absolutely necessary, because there is a lot of force when you accelerate or slow down with the movement of liquid going back and forth. It’s probably a good idea even for the tank you have. It definitely won’t hurt anything. Nice job building your log splitter. I’m getting ready to build a lift table but don’t want to spend the money on hoses and cylinders and valve systems. But if money wasn’t an issue, I would definitely do it the way you did yours. Really nice work there. ✌️👍🇺🇸
Nice wee tractor next time if you hold the key up against the spring for 10 seconds just before the starter engages that’ll heat the glow plug , makes a big difference
Great job Andrew ! Thinking about building something myself to cut some Co Armagh apple wood .
I cut some French apple wood with this one in the spring. Went through it like butter! If you can find parts go for it!
Good review
Glad you enjoyed it
Didn't check to see if in neutral
Starts quicker in 1st, shows what you know
@@Sidric-jp2cqlol !!
It's true, I didn't check! Generally I leave it in neutral, and often check just in case
Will it start if not in neutral, the Massey Ferguson will only start in neutral the small gear handle.
@@martymartin2894 Yeah, it cas start in neutral
Not pronounced still . It is steel
It’s not pronounced jerk it’s asshole.
It's Still actually Mr Roos
Ok thanks
Stihl
Nice video! Can you please tell me the outside width of the mill? Thanks
I can't remember exactly, but the longest bar it takes is a 36". It also exists in a 48" configuration
the oil tank baffle, stops aeration in the tank, you need that 2 stage pump, eg 22 gal per min. i had a 9 hp honda motor on mine.
Great video ! You have some nice planks :) Hey friend the longer the bar the better it work, The more angle you can get when your cutting the faster it will cut :) I used an Alaskain mill Until I bought a Woodland HM122 mill :)) So well worth the money !
You used a ripping chain is it not quicker, cleaner cut and easier on the saw to use a skip chain. I have used ripping chains to cut with the grain opposed to against the grain. Please correct me if wrong I would need advice on milling.
Hey! I just saw your comment. Personally I've always used a ripping chain. I don't know much about skip chains, but I don't know how clean the planks would be. Something to look into
@@andrewlivingstone5479 thanks
These machines are very addictive. I don't need one but im still thinking about getting one
hi there nice splitter best to all john
Well done. It looked like the last foot or two of each slab You were pushing a pile of sawdust. Maybe from all the wind it just kept building up in front of you. Or maybe you didn’t sweep off before you started. Good luck
It was pretty windy that day!
Hey I really liked that high tech French battery hold down!! Across the pond a bungee chord is often used, yours is much safer. Good job and even better job of looking for used stuff too. I think your future 2-stage pump will make a world of difference. Dialing in the second stage will help with not stalling down your engine, of which your pick and size was a good choice once you get the new pump. Your choice of a stainless steel hydraulic tank is an excellent one that I might consider to keep my fluid cleaner on my build. Good video, thanks from northern Minnesota.
Hey! Thanks for your detailed comment, it's very encouraging! After 9 months of building I wanted it to be the best possible ! Hope your own build goes well!
Super tracteur 👍 J'ai eu le même 👍😍
Yeah I got one and it works sweet as. The tube is a bit light I just got a heavier gauge Ali tube. You also need to wear hearing and dust protection mate. Keep safe.
Thanks for the feedback!
I would prefer the sound of the chainsaw.
Thanks for the feedback, I'll have some chainsaw noise in the next video then 😉
Veryy nice cab.
Thank you! These are the french Buisard cabs which were often fitted to imported tractors
Tidy job Andrew 👌
Excellent all round machine, did you compare the cost in comparison with buying a ready made 25 ton splitter.
Thanks for your comment! Here in France a similar splitter would cost around 5000-8000€. Mine cost about 2500€ in raw materials. I don't count the fabrication time since I have my own shop and it was a spare time project for fun
Is that condesation in the clocks??
Yes, there's some condensation in the temperature clocks since they come from an indoor industrial dishwasher. I should have tried water sealing them! The liquid in the oil pressure clock is normal
@@andrewlivingstone5479 thanks for replying back
Good job on the design concept. Will someone chime in on the baffle in the hydraulic tank? I love the wide five-bolt pattern on trailer wheels. Excellent content.
Thanks for your feedback. Yeah they're oldddd wheels! When I replaced the tyres, one of them was a late 50's GoodYear
super vidéo 👍😍👏 super tracteur j'ai eu le même 👍😍👏 bonne continuation 👍😍👏
Merci beaucoup 👍
