I'm a fractured heart who has a story to tell. I'll do the best I can to make the best amateur videos I can.
Dear Alabama...
For nearly all of December I had to hear from almost everyone associated with Alabama football whine and cry about being left out of the college football playoff. The Crimson Tide had an opportunity to make their case, but they lost to Michigan in their bowl game.

Books I've Read in 2024
มุมมอง 21หลายเดือนก่อน
As another year draws to a close, I have another video of books I've read for this year. This year, it was 20. That's 2/3 of the queue that I had. Meaning, I have another 10 on the horizon. Anyway, Happy New Year and thanks to those who have subscribed recently. Maybe my Diatribe of "L" takes might take on a new life.
Not All of Them Are Christmas Movies (Especially Die Hard)
มุมมอง 88หลายเดือนก่อน
How this for trying something new, a non-sports video. I address a debate that continues to rage. Almost on the level as how the Earth began and was the Moon Landing real? But I also put a spin that kind of strips the tree bare if you will.
A Sick, Sad Saturday Championship Recap

Sick with the flu, there was no where to go. Just fade and out on my recliner while watching college football. I ranked the three best games I saw on Championship Weekend in College Football.
Flag Planting, Where's the Problem?

Rivalry Saturday in college football had five schools going on the road and besting their nemesis. What they did after the game has my full and complete endorsement.
A Dear John Letter to the San Jose Earthquakes
มุมมอง 162 หลายเดือนก่อน
It was a football team I have gotten behind for nearly three decades. After realizing who owns them (I'll give you a hint, he's on the same level with other scumbag owners), I can't in good faith support them anymore. Not until he sells the team. This is my letter to them stating so.
"An Awkward Evening" (I Was There, September 10, 2024)
มุมมอง 363 หลายเดือนก่อน
My family and I made a return visit to the state of Texas for the first time in a decade. During our trip there, we revisited Minute Maid Park. Who the Houston Astros hosted would make up to be an awkward evening.
My Memories of the Coliseum
มุมมอง 324 หลายเดือนก่อน
As the Athletics conclude an era of baseball in Oakland, I reflect on some of the memories I had when I made many trips to the Coliseum in the 2000s. I may have forgotten some memories that should have made the list, but I wanted to think outside of the box here.
Red Harlan Reads: A Song of Solomon (read poorly)
มุมมอง 107 หลายเดือนก่อน
I've decided to venture out and experiment with things. One thing I loved doing in college was the art of dramatic oral reading. I've decided to read possibly one of the most romantic books in the Bible, the Song of Solomon. It's the New International Version (or NIV) of the Bible so sorry to my minuscule audience that puts their stock in the King James Version. I'm also aware that I did an ave...
A Bill Walton Memory
มุมมอง 118 หลายเดือนก่อน
In honor of the great Bill Walton who passed away, I had a couple of clips put together when I watched the 2017 CFP National Championship. I watched the watch party broadcast and Walton was one of the guests. He made a declaration during the game. Did it end up happening?
In Remembrance...
มุมมอง 98 หลายเดือนก่อน
I recently finished my annual Christmas home movie that I've been doing since my daughter's first Christmas in 2013. To open the film, I did a remembrance segment to remember my departed mother. I found old pictures of her, old pictures of me, and somewhat old pictures of my family that was with her until the end. Enjoy it and cherish your parents while they are still alive.

มุมมอง 499 หลายเดือนก่อน
I haven't done one of these videos in a while. A story about a game I didn't go to, but I wish I did because of the drama and atmosphere. In this episode, I retell the story of one of the greatest moments in 49ers playoff history in the 21st century.

After the announcement of a possible move to a new city, I would get a ticket to see the last day game of the season for the Oakland Athletics. At the same time, this would be my farewell to a side team I've had fond memories of rooting for for over 20 years. I was a man of my word and told @damonbruceplus that if any kind of move was announced, I would make a video of my last trip to baseball'...

A nice rebound win after the Christmas Nightmare. Also, thanks to the Eagles falling all over themselves, it's time to put my feet up. Niners have the 1 seed and home field advantage. Last time this has happened, they got pretty far. Great job, boys.

I remember this game. I was 12 and cried like a baby afterwards. Good times.

Blake and Dinah's personalities then: Blake: likes playing the mouse face off Likes playing with dinah Cheerful cat Dinah: Agressive on the window Playful but sometimes too much Curious Blake and Dinah's personalities: Blake: Still a purr button Always hungry Likes to lay on the master bedroom bed And a chatterbox Dinah: Acts sassy Old but small ( still cute😊) Always comes to the studio And cute meows but she's independent to other people
Brewers fan here, MLB did Oakland wrong. Loved the video though
I am Playing the New York Enforcers, and I can smoke defense with my tight end.
I would say avoid newer versions, or should I say PERversions. They all come from the Vatican and have many doctrinal changes. The King James Bible doesn’t come from the Vatican and conveys God’s word perfectly.
All-Star Baseball 2005 has a scenario where you have to pitch a complete game victory with Tim Hudson in the game.
I found myself watching a lot of cricket this year. I started with the BBL, caught the Bangladeshi league and some tests and then watched the entire Ashes. I find myself gravitating towards ODIs and Test cricket more than T20. However, the one thing I struggle with is how contrived some of the rules are. There is Powerplay in T20. The entire drama surrounding the new ball in Test cricket feels wholly unnecessary. I watch cricket for the old-timey pomp and circumstance and it also annoys the crap out of me. I suppose there is no sport quite like it in that regard.
🎉😂🎉
Outside of North America, there is also the European League of (American) Football which runs from June to September. It's this weird zombie that has seemingly emerged from the ashes of NFL Europe and the old World Football League. It just may be the bizarro MLS.
Great video
This was in 1998 ,,,not 2000
ACKSHUALLY if you see the NHL 2000 patches on the jerseys and the same NHL2000 logo on the boards, this game happened in the year 2000.
I remember that game.
That was painful game to watch that year. Still hurts to this day. Had the Canucks won the remaining games that season, it would have been nice to witness the "West Coast Express" line play for the Stanley Cup one last time.
What do you think of briging the Sabercats back as an outdoor football team? With USFL fixing to return in 2022 would you all consider making the San Jose SaberCats a part of that league?
I don't see why not have a USFL team there. I'd take them as a XFL team. Would I want them called the Sabercats? Probably not. I would like them having an original name that doesn't piggy back off of the legacy. They could play their home games at Levi's Stadium if possible. San Jose has always been that niche sports town for years. If not, the USFL could always have the return of the Oakland Invaders.
@@redharlan40entertainment The SaberCats have one of the best logos and uniforms in all of football. The team has a winning tradition all be it in the Arena Football League. Still I think the familiarity the people of San Jose have with the SaberCats makes it a brand they know and love and would be more than happy to support as an outdoors football team. It won't happen so it does not matter, but as far as the city of San Jose goes, I think it would be the perfect place for another sports team.
Why isn't that mom from the birthday party IN JAIL?!
I got to sit in a suite for this game. What a crazy ending. Those people who filed out with less than 10 minutes left were probably kicking themselves. Fun season. There were very low expectations for that team coming in.
A error I must correct: I mentioned that Marcel Goc was the silver medal winning coach of the 2018 German Olympic hockey team. That's half true. Goc did win a silver medal as a player. Marco Sturm, one the players the Sharks traded that season for Joe Thornton, was the coach of that 2018 German team. Also, former Shark Christian Erhoff played on that 2018 team.
Very cool breakdown of the game. Loved seeing the old highlights too. Thanks for posting this.
Michigan State played like a Nick Saban coached team that day. Those were his guys. I was at the game. Michigan State brought their entire band, along with 10,000 fans. It was the best SVB ever played. Fresno State was real good too. TJ Duckett and Charles Rogers went OFF that day. Great video.
Where did you sit at? I was at section 109, right in the middle of the Sparty crowd.
@@redharlan40entertainment 12th row. 50 yard line on the Spartan side. Right next to Tico Duckett (TJ's brother) and Charlie Thornhill (MSU great and Josh's Dad. Right behind me was the Michigan State basketball team.) My cousin was the backup quarterback for Michigan State in Ryan Van Dyke. Got Hi-lowed in late October against Minnesota and broke his jaw. Took the last snap of the game and took a knee. I hung out with the football team that week. Played euchre with Smoker and my cousin in the hotel room. Post 9-11/Dot Com bubble San Jose was a ghost town.) It was the best performance by Michigan State that year other than beating Michigan.
Do you have any full nhl games? I have some sharks games if you want to trade
Sadly I don't. I once did have a VHS collection of the games I went to. Then in 2004 during my unemployment days I created a highlight reel that filled an 8 hour video tape on SLP speed. In 2016, I got some video capturing software and digitally transferred them to separate files. I think you've inspired me to do a "making of" video. I know my production values aren't all that high, but I wanted to keep it all tight and under 15 minutes. BTW, I do have a couple of Sharks vs. Kings IWT videos in the future. I've finished the script on one and the other I have to get writing.
3:29 Well, OLN only got the NHL rights because they want to test if they could air pro sports and the NFL Thursday night package and an new MLB package, ultimately instead, NFL Network and TBS got those packages respectively. (OLN would latter get an sub-license package of Pac-10 and Big 12 games, which includes Stanford's famous upset over USC in 2007, or OLN (probably) got the NHL package because they were owned by Comcast, the parent company of the Flyers since 1996)
I didn't know that. I just thought it was strange that the NHL would be on a network like that at first instead of say at the time Bravo or USA. Thanks for subbing.
I agree. #alllivesmatter
I was at that game back on September 8th, 1990 it was on a Saturday afternoon when Giants beat the Astros 2-1 on when Matt Williams had the multi-homer game including the walk-off homer in the bottom of the 10th inning and by the way it was my sister's birthday she turned 12 that day. I was in the 8th grade in Jr. High School I was 13 years old at the time and would turn 14 in late December during the holidays during that six-day stretch between Christmas and New Year's Eve/Day. As for the 1990 Giants season coming off the pennant-winning season, and being swept by the A's in the Loma-Preata Earthquake Series Bay Bridge of 1989 and the Giants got off to a bad start that season and struggled throughout the first two months of the '90 campaign they were 19-29 on June 1st then they got hot winning 16 out of their next 17 games which included a nine-game winning streak. The All-Star Break the Giants were 44-39 in second place trailing the Reds by 8.0 games. The two teams played each other four a four-game weekend series at Candlestick Park as the Giants trailed the Reds by 9.5 games realistically the Giants had to take at least three out of four to have a very realistic chance to stay in the hunt and the Giants completed a four-game series sweep with Scott Garrelts who came within a strike of throwing a no-hitter with two outs in the ninth inning before Paul O'Neil broke Garrelts no-hit bid with a single and he settle for a one-hit shutout as the Giants completed the sweep over the Reds by a score of 4-0 before a sellout crowd of over 55,000 as the Giants would move within 5.5 games out of first place. Two weeks later two teams reconvene at Cincinnati's Riverfront Stadium where the Giants were 59-51 in second place in the NL West within striking distance of the Reds 4.5 games out of first place. But this time the Reds would take three of four from the Giants to move back and increased their lead over the Giants to 6.5 games in the NL West. The Giants would be in the midst of this stretch during The Dog Days of August where they would lose 11 of 14 and 14 out of 19 which included a 2-8 road trip which after losing three of four to the Reds in Cincinnati they were swept in a three-game series by the Phillies in Philadelphia which also were no-hit by former Giants pitcher Terry Mulholland by a score of 6-0. The Giants would finish August (12-17) and on September 1st the Giants would trail the Reds 8.5 games all but ended any hopes of catching the Reds with a chance to repeat as division champs. The Reds 9-0 fast start for the poor start and the early season struggles for the Giants in the first two months was way too much to overcome with injuries to a very aging pitching staff but the Giants got hot at the middle part of the season making it interested but at the end, the Reds held their ground as the Giants would finish 1990 season with an 85-77 record good enough for third place 6.0 games behind a Reds team that the Giants would win the season-series by going (11-7) in 18 games including (8-1) vs the Reds at Candlestick Park who would win the 1990 World Series after going wire to wire spending the entire 162 game season in first place in the National League West.
I covered the gist of the 1990 season leading up to a game I went to in part 1 of "A Trilogy Against A Dead Team" video. (Giants vs. Expos 8/22/90) Do you remember where you sat? I was in the lower box with a pretty good view of home plate. My dad got the tickets from his father-in-law who was a season ticket holder. I visited him that weekend (my parents were divorced) and he took me. Yeah, 1990 was a pretty fun season to watch. Even if they didn't get to the postseason.
It’s ironic that Loma Prieta’s biggest aftershocks in Watsonville occurred on the 84th anniversary of the 1906 earthquake, plus Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger visited Watsonville just after the earthquake too, great video and brilliant detailed insight into your experience as well! 😯 I love your cats too! 😺
Well, that's a fun fact. I looked up the Steel Wheels tour and the Stones were in LA after the quake hit. They also did two shows in Oakland a week after the World Series ended. So that explains the visit. I always love it when these rock and rockers pass through my neck of the woods. Thanks for the view and that piece of knowledge about Jagger.
Wow that’s crazy
The Dollar Shave Club's Twitter post "Welcome to the Club." came after gillettes ad for obvious reasons, unfortunately the same razor I've been using for years came from the Gillette douche bags, but they will never get a cent from me again. Great video 👍🏻
I just bought the store brand stuff. It's the same freakin thing anyway. I've been using Harry's for about a month and they get the job done. That's the best thing about consumerism. We can always get our needs elsewhere.
Gillette has did right thing but "male ego" can not handle that.
You are an example of toxic masculinity. 😂😂😂
