I'm here 3 years later playing the Demo song over for the 4th time now. Wow! Not just the awesome playing, but the actual composition itself.

What Amp & Miking is used? Or Modeler?

Of course they sound different. No two guitars sound exactly alike. But are the differences that of a semi-solid vs. a hollow body? This is still an open question.

Very well done video, superb playing. I could definitely hear the difference between the 2. Hollow body guitars have characteristics that solid bodies can't replicate.

I like your video, but I find it hard to hear the guitars past the Iridium, which are super dead sounding with vague mids and overtones. These guitars excel with that, so it is not really represented all that well imo. Still you make cool vids. Peace

nice video. but the irridium is not worth it anymore in 2024. 3 ir´s and a simple eq is what you get. overpriced

Late to the game here, but I have two Gretsches: a 6118 Anniversary with FT-67s and a 6120 Nashville with Dynasonics. To me nothing beats Dynasonics in terms of clean tone, especially in the neck. It's the most beautiful tone I've ever gotten out of a guitar. I like the Filtertrons too. I would have preferred (and may still switch to) something with a more vintage voicing as the 67s are a bit dark (on the Gretsch scale - which means they still got some twang). They shine with just a bit of dirt on them - solid midrange and work very well in a band mix. That's the one I use with my band. But when I'm at home by myself and just wanting to hear (or record) pretty sounds, I reach for the Nashville. You chose well, Ben. And nice playing/layering.

To my ears the TV Jones sounded best, more body, clarity and dare I say more Gretch.

I always wanted a Jag, but I ended up buying a Jazzy - and it sounded way better than any Jag i've ever played.

With 2 Y-cables and into a switching system, you can use it as 2 seperate pedals and be able to switch the order of the 2 sides. I really like your video - both the content and production. You have just got yourself a new subscriber 👍👍👍

The white falcon has what looks like a Gretsch p90. These aren’t similar guitars at all. The filtertrons on the Electromatic aren’t going to sound remotely similar. They’re going to be darker and fatter which they are.

Bridge pickup positions are a little different, with the hollow body having it a little further from the bridge. This would cause a warmer tone. Im still not sure what i want lol. Deeper down the rabbit hole i go.

I like the Jaguar looks but Love the the Jazzmaster deep sounds 😢 ..

Just change the pickups, tv Jones makes some really good ones

Are Hilotron pickups single coil or humbucking please? as I've got an old Gretsch Clipper, with Hilotrons, and they're very chimey, I've always wondered.

Wonderful playing and sound. Would love to know what effects you used. I hear a little brighter sound on the White Falcon. I play an electromatic and would love to get close to that sound.
